The latest on that story, what are you learning . We got our hands on that same report. This is just another report out now building on previously published findings. It is interesting because it gives us another perspective on this entire issue. It is giving more ammo to the governors critics who believe his March 25th Executive directive which required Nursing Homes to accept patients from hospitals caused thousands of deaths. Here is the report. The new York State Bar Association Task force on Nursing Homes and longterm care releasing this whopping 242 Page Report and part of that reads this. There are credible reviews that suggest thAt The directive for the approximately six weeks it was in Effect Led to a number of additional deaths. Thats big. It doesnt say the directive was a mistake since the state was in this State Of Emergency during the pandemic At The time. But the report does find thAt The order should have been lifted much sooner. It was unreasonable to leave the directive in place for so long after it was necessary. Hospitalizations peaked april 14th. Hospital beds At The Javits Center were barely used and the u. S. S. Comfort sat empty in the hudson river. More than 15,000 people died in Nursing Homes and longterm care facilities here in new York State. Governor cuomo has repeatedly claimed that March Directive did not lead to the majority of those deaths. Whether this latest report prompts any change we shall see. Dont forget, the f. B. I. And the u. S. Attorney in brooklyn are still investigating the governors administrations handling of all of this and the governor under a State Investigation for a number of Sexual Harassment claims. It seems to me this is brutal politics and not about healing america, about growing america, about strengthening america. No agenda there except stopping Joe Biden. By the way, i think the real clear politics average for Joe Bidens approval on The American people right now is 52 to 53 and you look at some of the big agenda items, infrastructure and the like it is very popular not only in general, more than 50 , but republicans. Senator schumer has said well go it alone on reconciliation. The Wall Street Journal editorial board. Wait a second.
