Brian were seeing it now the crime statistics in New York and chicago, in minneapolis, in philadelphia, in Los Angeles are astronomical. They are almost in triple figures, in some cases, especially in la. How about for you personally. Did you notice things change when you puT That uniform on, and did your job over the last year . Um, there were certain people in the community that definitely were more vocal abouT Their dislike for the police. Some of them were very surpris ing of who they were, within the community, but here in tulsa, were pretty fortunate we still have a strong support of Law Enforcement but ive definitely been following it across the country and seeing way officers have been treated elsewhere. Brian check this out staffing challenges in 194 police departments, look aT These numbers 45 increase in retirement, 18 increase in resignations. Now youre retiring, but a lot of cops just say take my badge, its not worth it, and now they are talking about police reform. Sean is there anything that you think could make policing better thaT Theyre working on in washington . You know, listen. I agree thaT There could be better training, for all of us in Law Enforcement, for sure. How do you get universal Training Acrosstheboard for every cop in america . That i dont know how. Its all about money. Its budgets, and there are small departments that just dont have the budget some of the larger agencies do to geT The guys the same type of training. They dont have the manpower. They cant pull people out of patrol to send them to training when they have a very small department, and Thats Something that i think be beneficial. I just dont know how we geT There. Brian right. Theres rules now in chicago, for example, on when to chase. If youre chasing somebody, and you lose sight of them youve goT To stop. Other departments are looking at you have to call back to the head of the precinct before you follow somebody. Yeah, thats bonkers. I spenT The majority of my career chasing violent criminal offenders. I was with a Gang Unit with our crime Gun Unit and guess what . Bad guys run from the police and guess what its our job to chase them and geT Them in custody, and so when the criminals themselves know thaT Thats a policy because that will start spreading around these guys will run left and right. Weve already seen it with vehicle pursuits and a lot of jurisdictions where some Agencies Cant Chase people at all. They Cant Chase people on motorcycles and so these Guys Toy with Police Officers when they run from them. Obviously, we know some of the crimes like particularly out in california, and san francisco , for instance where theyre not prosecuting Misdemeanor Shoplifting and so bad guys are cleaning up there, stealing, and they are going to take advantage of this in chicago.
