Still, Many Companies are keeping the mandates in place for now like macys, target and dollar general, and ten states right now are Still Deciding if theyll change their rules, and that includes blue states like new york, california and michigan. Critics, of course, say the new guidelines have been a Long Time Coming and question the timing of all of this, suggesting that it might have been done to distract people from the politically difficult week for President Biden. But dr. Anthony i fauci, the white houses chief medical adviser, doubling down on his claim that the decision to relax restrictions really was based purely on science. The decision that we dont have to wear masks when youre fully vaccinated is really based on an accumulation of Scientific Evidence over the past several weeks. The low level of infection in the community and the extraordinarily highfectiveness of the vaccine highfectiveness of the vaccine has brought us to the conclusion that it is now safe to put aside masks so long as you are vaccinated. All right, sean, i want to start with you because, you know, for months and months weve been hearing [laughter] weve been hearing that its going to take 6070 of the population to get vaccinated to reach herd immunity. I want to pull up a figure of where we are right now at this. We are only at 36 of americans being fully vaccinated. S that is nowhere near this 6070 of reaching herd immunity, but now weve got dr. Fauci saying weve got new science, new evidence to kind of move things along a lot quicker. Sean, you know how washington works, so whats really going on here . Well, cant we all acknowledge that fauci is a political hack and not a scientist . Weve all known that if you get vaccinated, you can take your mask off. And if you want to look back, people have been getting vaccinated for five or six months. You could have done that study months ago and gotten that same recommendation in february or march. But here it comes this week, and you said this in your open, its about politics. Look at what happened to joe bidens week. Horrible job numbers, number one, people who cant get gas on the east coast, and then you have The Middle East burning. So so to change the narrative in the National News corpses, they talked about lifting the restrictions which we all knew should be lifted. Still says that children, if you dont get vaccinated, should still wear masks. And we all know that children have a low propensity to get covid, and if they do, theyre not going to die from covid. So thats frustrating. Why arent we getting recommendations on the millions of people who have already had covid and have antisphwhoidz. Right. You can also take off your mask. Well, again, i would say that even with this guidance thats out there, the guidance is not telling states and localities exactly how they should implement. I know i am reassured by listening to the guidance of health and medical experts, not political decision making. Lisa, you moved to a red state early on. Hows that going for you . Its great. [laughter] no, life is great in florida, and Governor Desantis has performed so well in keeping this state open while also keeping seniors safe, which was the most critical, which is what everyone else should have done from the beginning. I dont think theres been enough focus on how bad the Biden Administration has botched this and how bad joe bidens has botched this starting from the beginning when he said that President Trumps travel ban on china was xenophobic and then later reversed course to Vice President Kamala Harris during the debate saying she wouldnt get the vaccine under trump to joe biden making, you know, his wartime promise of 100 Million People being vaccinated in 100 days which the Trump Administration was already on track to do, to then basically telling americans they still wouldnt be true even if they got the vaccine to the botched pause on the Johnson Johnson vaccine which brought a lot of hesitancy and trust issues, to botching school reopenings, Crazy Camp Guidelines for kids and even not doing things like the u. K. Did, putting an emphasis on the first dose and delaying the second dose which they did effectively. So you can go down the list of where the Biden Administration and joe biden himself royalty screwed up. I remember when i got the vaccines and i got my second vaccine, it was like, great, what can i do now . Basically nothing. It wasnt a great time for them. So they used the cdc to keep their political gates going. Now its up, Everybody Knows whats going on. Were all missing the point that they had soft music playing while fauci was telling you that you could take your masks off which means they recorded it, they put it up, they edited it, they had a dj it was planned, yeah. And then they said, wait, because we need a win. They had a really bad day, roll that beautiful footage. The problem was the rest of america was, like, youre telling us something we already know. Because they politicized the cdc, and we dont trust the cdc anymore. Yeah. Theres a lot of misunderstanding and misinformation out there. Take a look at this, because President Biden has said theres really not a lot of Vaccine Hesitancy across the u. S. I talk to people all the time, and it doesnt matter what party theyre affiliated with that havent yet gotten the vaccine and dont feel like getting it. What do you guys feel of that . One of my closest friends, p. J. Black, hes paranoid of vaccines. Youre always going to have people that question things, and i think thats okay. If youre not comfortable with getting a vaccine, research it. Just dont rush into it because if something were ever to go wrong and you made a decision without thinking about it and you just did it because your party told you to do it, that kind of goes against the cd with of taking the idea of taking care of yourself and being smart. In fairness, i think there are a lot of people looking at the data and exercising common sense. If youre 36 years old, young and healthy and covid is not a threat to me from a healther perspective, so why should i be forced to do it either by the private sector or the government when its just simply not a threat to me . Also its not fda approved yet, its under emergency use authorization. My parents develop it, im glad they did because theyre much higher risk, but people exercising common sense and saying, look, its not a threat to my kid or to me. However, maybe if someone overweight, perhaps elderly, they should go out and get it. With almost 90 percent of gas stations in the Nations Capital running completely dry yesterday. Some of the worst hit being north and south carolina. The shortages also affecting drivers wallets, the average price increasing to a bit over 3 a gallon up significantly from the average price this time last year. The good news is the Colonial Pipeline has restarted operations but not before shelling out a reported 5 million in ransom to the Group Responsible for the attack. Though the Company Tweets that theyre rushing to deliver millions of gallons in fuel to affected area, some shortages are expected to persist for weeks. I first want to go to you, tyrus. So we hear a lot from the left about how bad carbon fuel is. Now we have to shut down pipelines and make this big transition. We all know they cut off construction of the keystone, and l pipeline. Right. Is this what america will look like under aocs Green New Deal . No fuel, no cars, no electricity . Okay, first of all, unless something has dramatically changed, she still has this one little vote from her little area shes from. And this gas line is shut down, you cant fill up your car, but you can get electricity. In texas, you couldnt charge your car, but you could get gas. Isnt this stupid . Of course it is. Weve heard or that both from the Secretary Of Energy as well as from Pete Buttigieg of transportation, also john kerry admitting that pipelines are, you know, the best for the environment in terms of the alternative to move oil into the country, yet what did joe biden do upon taking office in he nuked the keystone pipeline, killed 11,000 direct jobs, Killed Tens Of Thousands of indirect jobs and killed a way to bring 800,000 barrels of oil to the United States on a daily basis. I thought that was an interesting admission. But also concerns about the cyber attack and the vulnerabilities of the energy infrastructure. And weve seen people like general jack keane say that dark side couldnt are done this without the russian governments knowledge, so, you know, why did they do it . Was it just to test the Biden Administration . Is there something more sinister on the horizon . I think the answer to that question is important as well. I thinks really important. We had a 5 million ransom paid by this Colonial Pipeline. Isnt that just encouraging more hacks and more ransoms and more money to be paid by these various organizations . California governor gavin newsom is making a big play for votes in his new budget, setting aside 7. 2 billion to pay off rent and Utility Bills and 300 million for Traffic Tickets. Newsom tweeting that californias providing the largest rental relief program, and for those that need it, well pay back rent and Utility Bills. He also tweeted for low income californians, tickets from 20152021 will be forgiven. I mean, sean, is this the all a ploy just to get votes . Of course it is. If Gavin Newsoms shutdown how he handled the pandemic that caused poor and middle class individuals to lose their jobs and have this economic strife, number one, right . Maybe instead of giving money away for votes, because we all know he has a recall on the horizon, maybe he should take his 13. 3 income tax and actually lower it so people stop leaving the state and keep jobs in california. Well, and, tyrus, you look at california got over 40 billion from the latest covid relief package, so so why should americans have to be on the hook to pay for californians rent as well as their Traffic Tickets . How vulnerable is he truly . Lisa, you know, i dont think if you dont know how to curry favor, i dont think youre a real politician, right . Everyone has tricks up your their sleeves. I would say a good comparison is what people thought Governor Cuomo here in new york was doing when he was hit by scandal after scandal, he had to face the music when it came to that nursing home ordeal and the Sexual Harassment allegations one after the other. And all of a sudden you saw him loosening up restrictions. You know, restaurants could increase their capacity for indoor dining. Everybody was raising their eyebrow like whats going on here. I do think its republican if republicans want to oust gavin newsom, theyre going to have to hit harder on longterm issues, right . Were talking about homelessness, raising taxes, things like that and move away from the pandemic problems that likely wont be there in a couple of months because voters tend to vote based Op Disruptions that are happening in their daytoday lives. And by november there might not be very many of those. And, sean, it just feels like theres never going to be any accountability. Theres never accountability with these politicians. You had newsom, cuomo destroy their states. Cuomo, his policies actually ended up in people dying with the elderly in this state. It just feels like theres never, ever going to be consequences for these bad actors. I think youre right. But what you have here is joe biden and the federal government democrats have sent billions of dollars back to the states, and now for the next two years, three years, theyre going to be santa claus and dish out all these goody programs. Theyre going to build roads, bridges, free money, everyone gets 3,000, free parking, free rent ill take it. And i want to vote for you, right . This is buying votes. And the problem, the conversation the longterm consequences of inflation on these policies is horrific for hoe income and middle income low income and middle income americans, and this is not worth a little freebie for the next year. Well, i think its reasonable to believe at some point the Stimulus Checks are going to stop, right in we have no indication to believe were going to get another round, so thats going to stop, and people are going to have to make tough decisions. Look, i do think part of the population is comfortable, and i would say even about people who dont want to return back to office buildings, for example, that there are some issues with that [laughter] like tyrus can speak to that. And i think it all goes back, part of this goes back to the mixed messages about how people feel being around other people. And the mixed messaging, it needs to be addressed because, you know, if youre vaccinated, there are some people who are vaccinated that still dont want to leave their house because theyre so afraid of getting sick. And the thing is these vaccines are not 100 effective. Were never going to go back to prepandemic days, and i think people are not hearing that. The vaccines are only meant to save you from dying and from hospitalization and from serious illness. But there are still people out there that are misunderstanding this, and they think that somehow the world is going to go back to where we were before the pandemic and are just not ready to leave their homes, and i think thats sad. I think there are a couple of things that are working here. But, yeah, Stimulus Checks, theyre going to go away. Yeah. I want to get your reaction. Is freshman sexist . Can i tell you a quick story really quick . Please. I love stories. My parents moved to this country when i was 6 years old, left everything behind for one reason. There was no war, we werent economically stressed. They came for one reason, that was higher education. We had some of the best schools in america. My dad saw that, he wanted that for his kids, and he brought us here specifically for that. And when we came here, he realized very quickly that his pakistani degrees were not going to be able to get him a professional job that he wants here in the u. S. , so he went back to school and got his undergrad in two years while working and while supporting his family and feeding our mouths and taking care of us and clothing us. He did all of that. Do you think at any point in time my dad thought about the word freshman or sophomore or what the elite were calling him . No. And what drives me crazy about this woke culture right now, okay, as an immigrant is that america can always do better, right . Were not perfect. We can always do better.
