Now the president s team is insisting even though they knew about the guidance changing the night before, there was no political driver to change the Mask Guidance. Teachers unions have had a heavy hand in the cdcs Opening Guidance with getting teachers back in the classroom. Coincidentally the leader of a large Teachers Union called for schools to be opened in the fall just before the cdc went public with new guidance. Conditions have changed. We can and we must reopen schools in the fall for inperson teaching, learning, and support. And we must keep them open fully and safely five days a week. One administration passing the blame to another administration. Its not acceptable. This is the first time weve experienced Something Like this. It is overburdened our federal partners, Border Patrol doing everything they can. Immigrants fleeing their home country looking for a better way of life. You have to feel for these individuals but at the same time there has to be a system in place that allows them a Legal Process. It is heartbreaking the watch some of these family units dragging their small children across a river risking their life. Gillian it is. There is nothing worse than looking at this day after day. We see even small children and babies sometimes abandoned once they get to the u. S. Side of the border. So looking ahead, sheriff, based on your experience, what can and should be done in the near term . You arent going to solve this overnight but at least to alleviate a little bit of this crisis.
