Brian you dont say slavery didnt exist but you point out slavery existed everywhere. We did not come up with the concept, and look at where weve come over the last hundred years. Youve pointed about that. That helps people think. It doesnt tell them what to think. Yeah, thats what im saying. Of course, slavery was an awful holocaust, it was an immoral institution, there is not any question about that. But slavery ended in 1863 with the emancipation proclamation, 1865 with the conclusion of the civil war, and the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments, the people who had been slaves were made citizens, not equal, but in time, africanamericans have become equal citizens of the richest, most powerful, and greatest republic in the history of the world, so the glass of liberty here is more than half full. Brian so what is the danger of going back and saying going back and saying whites are privileged, hispanics and africanamericans dont . Well, its wrong, first of all. You could say racist to describe privileged and supremacy and an assumption to an entire class of people based upon their race. Its bad for black people, its the only country weve got. These are not our enemies, these are our fellow citizens. We are going to make it or not make it, right here, right now. I think the risk of backlash is nontrivial. People play with fire when they play with these racial terms and expect whites will sit quietly and take it. They will for a while, but not forever.
