You can hear those explosions in the distance which indicates theyre not just firing towards tel aviv but also toward Central Israel and probably the border towns. The Prime Minister wanted to make clear that this operation is getting underway. We spoke with sources in the military today to try to get a picture of what the military was preparing to do. Would they be moving Ground Floors . We know they called up 5,000 members, but the Prime Minister is calling the shots. He still in charge along with the Defense Minister and they say theyre going to make them pay a heavy price. If today is any indication there will be air strikes against significant infrastructure. Weve spent weeks during different conflicts and there is a lot of infrastructure where groups are Firing Rockets, they are storing tank missiles, but one thing to note and we have to talk about this, all they are nearly 2 million palestinians living in gaza, the vast majority are not terrorists. Theyre not looking to kill israeli civilians, theyre looking to be human and live their lives and weve spent talking about that. Its important to make this distinction. Towards massive israeli populations. This is a warrior. A war is not fought by civilians, but consequences and the price at the highest level are paid by those innocent bystanders. Sandra lets get back to trey yingst reporting live at the border for us and he has the breaking developments. What are we seeing and hearing right now . Right now a massive barrage just fired toward southern israel. The entire crew and i had to dive under the car. You can hear explosions right now. Those Missile Defense systems that were next to us started firing off trying to intercept as many rounds as possible. The soldiers that were around here ran for cover. This is the heaviest flashes weve seen along the border here. The major concern especially for people near these locations are that when these rounds go off and they intercept rockets, like what we just saw, rockets come from every direction and theyre doing their best to intercept them. The major concern for that and why it can so unsafe and why we had to move here in a split second is because they were Firing Rockets at all different angles. The iron dome did not intercept all of them. They intercepted none of them, but we saw shrapnel raining down. And they explode in midair the point is to basically make sure they dont land anywhere, but that shrapnel can be deadly. Im going to get up here for a second because it looks as if the barrage has stopped. Stay with me for a second i need to talk to my crew. Make sure you have your make sure you stay close. We are fine here good. I just needed to check in the middle of a major barrage there. There are sirens going off all the cross israel right now. The question now is how israel will respond to this. I think its important to put into context that weve been talking about this as a conflict. This is the beginning steps of a war and that something israel has prepared for, both factions inside gaza and the military have formally named the events that are happening in the back and forth clashes and this is the heaviest fighting the region has seen since the major operation back in 2014 when israel did launch a ground operation. Is there any indication off or they will rely on iron dome . They will start in real time. Theyre likely going to start hitting the Rocket Launching as they go to the border. We were in gaza back in 2019. We were inside the gaza strip when the Israeli Military made a decision to take out a senior islamic rocket commander. We happen to be there doing a Feature Story on Border Demonstration and a seat cover a military parade. Because when you cover factions, these are organizations that are deemed as terrorist groups. Having access to understand ideology and understand why they do what they do. Why they make these decisions and target civilians in many cases. It was an opportunity to go there and some of the people that are making statements about this conflict. We stayed for two extra days and before we were going to come out the israelis made a decision to launch a targeted assassination against the commander. At which. 23 days of fighting erupted. If today. That situation is much calmer. Israel made a decision to target Rocket Launching units across the border. That escalated things very quickly but it made it come to an end quickly because the people who were trained to fire the rockets were being taken up by drones and air strikes. They had Artillery Support and we could very likely see that even in the coming hours because the Rocket Barrage will be higher towards the second largest city. Thats a symbol for everyone involved in this conflict and its not a symbol that will be taken lightly. Im looking off into the distance here. Right now its quiet. We talked about it yesterday during a few of our live shots and when we were at the top of Special Report with bret baier talking about how the iron dome exists and how its changed lives for people simply because one rockets are fired in these barrages, theyre not all landing, many are intercepted and its advanced technology that other countries, including the United States Around The World are interested in because when it comes to rocket fire its really the most advanced technology out there because it can track and intersect the rockets that are being fired and it can help a population. Often the distance distance there are explosions. I dont want to guess what they are, they could be impacts or interceptions. When it comes down to it, during a round of conflict, the factions basically try to change their attack method. Yesterday we saw them fire a tank missile at a civilian car. There was a person injured, but there were no casualties. You see often times these ground operations, the issue of tunnel is not much of a problem because rocket fire remains the major threat for israeli civilian so the iron dome does good for the civilian population. The civilian population that isnt as protected is in gaza because often times there is Collateral Damage and when we press israeli officials or military leadership about this issue, its a very sore subject because during 2014 there were a lot of casualties and it was something that israel came under criticism for because its just something thats part of more civilian casualties, it was messy, there is an understanding and the International Community and humanitarian law that civilians need to be protected. As we talked about earlier, there are 2 Million People inside gaza and most are not the militants firing these rockets. Often times it can seem as if its just this sort of hub of conflict, but there are also just people who were living there who want to go to the zoo. They want to just go about their everyday lives. John what you look back at the really big conflict which was the battle that israel had with hezbollah in 2006. They were in the northern part of country and places like they came under fire. They were the main target, but when has below started targeting, the whole character of the conflict and the part of israel ramped up. Gordon wood who studies this extensively said there is no evidence of that. In fact slavery was ending in Great Britain and there wasnt much discussion about that. We have a better understanding of why it was founding, but theres been an effort to rewrite the history so the Equity Argument can be made of systemic racism. If you take everything back to 1619, the country is a racist country built on it. John i think we have the sound of say that. The reality is the Teachers Union menu to play politics with kids lives and their futures and heresy and only beginning to see the tip of the iceberg. The Wall Street Journal seemed to zero in on the fact that this plan, trillions of dollars thrown at it doesnt even seem to be targeting some of our most crucial vulnerabilities. This is the world the lobby wants. The administration should put money into it cyber vulnerability, but its using the Infrastructure Label to remake the economy and make the grid more vulnerable and not less. You see it the same .
