Bidens top Cyber Security adviser named the group responsible. The fbi identified the ransomware as The Dark Side variant which they have been investigating since october of last year. Hacker group issued the following statement, quote we are apolitical. We do not participate in geo politics. Do not tie us with a defined government and look for our motives. Our goal is to make money. It is not clear whether colonial has paid or plans to pay the hackers ransom the pipeline covers 5500 miles from houston to new york affecting 19 state and is responsible for delivering 100 million gallons of gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and heating oil a day. Colonial said it has opened smaller lateral lines between terminals and Delivery Points to keep oil and gas supply flowing. The white house eased regulations for truckers to increase deliveries as well. This is one of the worst Ransomware Attacks that we have seen that has caused a potential disruption to a Critical Service or function. Federal Law Enforcement officials are looking at how to knock down the command and control of these criminals and how to disrupt payment for this kind of attack which usually involves crypto currency like bit coin. What are the experts saying about the pump . Hey, bret. Well, the impact this will have on your wallet will depend on two things where you live and how quickly Colonial Pipeline can get things back up and running again, aaa says you can expect do seat biggest impact in areas that the pipeline directly services think places like mississippi and tennessee as well as the east coast of georgia into delaware. You can expect to see an increase of 3 to 7 cents per gallon in those areas by the end of this week according to aaa. Once the pipeline is up and running its important to note that it will take 15 to 18 days to get the fuel flowing from where the Pipeline Start in texas, all the way to where it ends in new york. And we should also point out that gas prices have already been rising. They rose from 2. 90 the National Average a week ago to 2. 96 per fallon this week. If things increase just three cents more that will be the highest National Average for gas since november of 2014, bret. Bret gaede, we talked about how they are trying to get it back up and running by friday. If this pipeline is shut down for an extended period of time. How does the inventory get moved out of the east . Well, its important to note that by all expert accounts right now there is sufficient oil in the United States and in the east coast of the United States. And there are other ways to move fuel there are other pipelines that they can use as well as tanker trucks. Jenson has referenced they have loosened restrictions on tanker Truck Drivers carrying fuels to certain states and they can work for longer hours thanks to that loosening of those restrictions. Another option, according to the folks over at gas buddy, they tell us they could use barges. In order it do that using barges to move fuel from port to port. The federal government would have to waive an old maritime law requires goods traded between u. S. Ports to be moved on u. S. Ships. As of right now there has been no exemption made for that bret . Thousands of parents in Fairfax County, virginia are being asked to complete an Online Survey about incorporating antibias and antiracism training into the Public School curriculum. The roughly three dozen questions focus on race, stereotypes, even how to challenge power and privilege in society. This survey, its just a loaded survey. Parent who is part of the Organization Parents defending education believes students study should be nonpolitical. She and her parents are suing the School District over concerns about Critical Race Theory. A belief that systematic racism is inherent. Her son attend the press teeming just Thomas Jefferson high school for science and Technology Part of the Fairfax County School System. She says Critical Race Theory is making an appearance in the classroom. The school is 70 asian and admission is highly competitive. Folks are really frightened in what is happening in their School District. I want to just encourage them to overcome your fears and please speak up. Groups like the local naacp praised the idea. The nomani and members of her group are concerned that the survey means Critical Race Theory might expand beyond the walls of Thomas Jefferson. Leadership academy a Progressive Group in long island new york that specializes in antiracism and antibias training. In a statement to fox fox news, the Group Confirms work with Fairfax County writing the Leadership Academy partners with School Systems across the country to identify where policies and practices are no longer serving all students. Fox news reached out to the Fairfax County School System to learn more about this specific survey and has not heard back yet. Survey closes this coming weekend. This is really hitting home with people saying how vulnerable are we . Brit the answer seems to me based on this we are quite vulnerable it appears our ability to counter or block these attacks is not what it needs to be. This is a serious incident. If this was simply a Criminal Gang, that has done this, that is even in some respects you could make the argument thats even more alarming because imagine what a gang of criminals with a support of a major state could do. So we have a long way to go on this issue and, you know, i wouldnt be surprised if the Biden Administration would be pointing fingers at the Trump Administration before long. Its up to them now, the Biden Administration to deal with this and this is the kind of National Security issue that often comes out of left field and is a real test of a presidency.
