Mine and other parents legitimate concerns over their kids social, Learning And Health needs. They were being ignored. Studies have shown that fear, anxiety, depression, Suicide Rates have jumped and, you know, they dont want to hear about it. We are their parents and i understand things might have gotten a little heated but, you know, all we wanted to do was to be heard and they denied us of that. Were live with this story. On the same day this school Board Meeting happened, the state of utah had met the requirements to lift a whole host of Covid19 Health restrictions and as you mentioned the Mask Mandate was one of them. It is not up in all of the place and definitely not over in the k12 schools. That has some parents not only wondering whatsing on but outraged. We do need to continue. We have more business to conduct. [people shouting] the Granite School District in south Salt Lake City adjourned the Board Meeting when the public Comment Portion of the meeting was closed. But others were allowed to speak including a politician and that was more than some parents could take. I dont think they should be mandated and i wrote in the Wall Street Journal today its time for Mask Mandates to go across the country and that the president should be saying that because basically you are being punitive to people who have had the vaccine and may not need masks. You look at utah, julie, less than 350 new covid cases yesterday. And zero deaths. Unbelievable drop in cases. What are they talking about mandating that children wear masks in schools still when children are not the big spreaders of this, they arent getting sick from this usually and as the parent pointed out in the building there is a lot of Depression And Frustration and anger among children. They arent socializing and parents feel they arent being heard. From a public Health Point of view i dont believe the mandate is necessary.
