Then. These are about Critic Options inflexibly for america thereby imposing a Vision Respect republicans arguably bite and plan will drive the economy down and inflation. We will talk to with Louisiana Senator Bill cassidy, a member of the gang of ten trying to find common ground in the senate. Plus, hear me clearly, america is not a racist country. Spectator Tim Scotts comments spark a pierced debate is republicans take on a proposed curriculum for the nations schools. Will ask her Sunday Panel about the new Culture War and education. And our Power Player of the week. The first College Athlete to make money off her personal brand. All right now on Fox News sunday. Chris and Hello Again from Fox News in washington. It was 40 years ago when Ronald Reagan told the Nation Government is not the solution to our problem. Government is the problem. Ever since, president s both republicans and even democrats have played down the role of big government until now. President biden is pushing 4 Trillion in new spending and almost that much in new taxes. What happens to his plans over the next few months will tell us a lot about where our nation is headed. In a moment will speak with one of the president s top economic advisers, Cecelia Rows. But first lets turn to Mark Meredith and williams in Delaware On Prospects for the officious plan, mark. Chris, President Biden insist the country can afford to spend trillions and trillions of dollars. But republicans are upset with more than the Price Tag here. They argue the White House is trained to expand Government Bureaucracy for decades to come. We are way behind the rest of the world right now. President biden said if the u. S. Is to compete globally, congress should spend trillions of dollars rebuilding roads, Fighting Climate Change in addressing poverty. There certain things only the government can do. We ranked number eight in the world were infrastructure for God Sake brace back atop of Info Structure spreading the White House with 1. 8 trillion to fund universal preschool, to for years of Commune Ecology and more on employment benefits. Republicans argue its a ploy to increase the Governments Role in american daily life. As government expands Art Liberty contracts. Think many of these programs are designed to make the Middle Class dependent on government for its brick even some democratically West Virginia centered Joe Manchin are raising concerns with the growing Price Tag of the president s proposal. Still the White House believes a deal with the closely divided congress as possible. The president plans to sit no congressional leaders in both parties at the White House later this month. While congress negotiates, this would present binds going back on the road trying to convince taxpayers to support these plans ~ making stops in virginia in louisiana this week, chris. Chris Mark Meredith traveling with the president delaware. Mark thank you. Joining is now Cecelia Rao Chair of the president s council of economic advisors. Lets start by putting President Bidens plans in historical context. Adjusting for inflation, the programs passed during the new Deal Cost 856 billion. Recovery from the great recession in 2009 cost 1. 8 trillion. But in just over 100 days President Biden has proposed more than 6 Trillion in new spending. They really want to spend more than six times what the nation spent to get us out of the Great Depression of the 1930s . Well thank you chris. Lets be clear, the first part of what President Biden was spending is The American rescue plan. We are in an economic recession caused by a pandemic. That was critical support which went to families and businesses 12 and get to the other side of the pandemic. Even more important to provide the funding for an effective and comprehensive vaccination rollout. It is because of the shops in the arm. Its because the support of hamp families and businesses have had we started to see our economy come back. Last weeks numbers suggest growth in the first quarter, increased by about 6 . Recent Unemployment Insurance claims are coming down. The first punch of that was to get to the cited pandemic. The other two parked are about investing in our future. To put this in context is in the last four years we have been Dis Investing from our economy. So what these plans do as we put money into the foundations of growth. Those are Infrastructure Research and Development And Innovation innovation we know Human Capitol is still important. I nasty support families need in order to go to work because allowing workers to go to work on increasing our labor shies also critically important for stating our economy and we remain the most competitive economy in the world. But you take my point it is six times it was spent in the new deal. Its three times we spent for the great recession. You point out where the economy is right now. I want to Take A Look at that. The economy is doing pretty well whats put up the numbers. Gdp rose in the first quarter at an annual rate of 6. 4 . The Unemployment Rate has dropped from a pandemic high of 14. 7 now to 6 . The federal reserve is keeping shortterm Interest Rates near zero. With things going so well, why not trust the private sector to do its job to keep the economy growing . And get the country back on its way to do by the private sector not the Public Sector . So chris first of all this is not either or. With those numbers reflect were just starting to come out of this roof. The numbers look eyepopping because of base affects their solo last year. But we are not done yet. Next week will also get an employment. I expect to see low job gains. I also expect to remind ourselves youre still seven or 8 Million jobs down from where we were this time last year. So we are definitely on the move. This is an economy that is recovering. We are leading the world and that recovery but we are not done yet. Part of this i think ms. Raos is a basic philosophical argument what kind of country do we want to be. This is Mitch Mcconnell this week Take A Look. Present bidens familiar face is like the most Radical Washington and democrats have been handed the keys. Theyre trying to speed as far left as they can, possibly go before american voters ask for the car back. President biden is saying that he once and government to pay for Child Care. He wants government to pay for preschool. Not just for the poor but for the middleclass. And it will be government that picks winners and losers. Is that they kind of of country we want to have . We would too have a country as robust growth that is widely shared in this innovative for the future. What we are proposing here was for the government to step in and places where the private sector does not do so well. I think were the envy of the world and the speed in which the vaccination those by Pfizer And Madrona were rolled out and developed in the last year. That was Breasts Tacy while breathtaking. From the path to get out of this pandemic and recession. The basic research that was the backbone of those Vaccine Developments was funded by the government. We know when it comes to risky investments the private sector will not make them. We know it comes to goods where the private sector cannot recoup all of its returns the private sector does not fully invested. The strategy here is to create a partnership between the Public Sector and the private sector. For both sides you making investments that make the most sense. So we can really increase growth. We know that investments by the government invests in research that crowds in the private sector. The private sector bills on top of that. This is not either or this is both and. Chris is not only a big disagreement with the spending by the sharp disagreement about how you going to pay for it. I want to put up the combined u. S. Corporate Tax Rates. When i say combine both the federal Tax Rates at least date Corporate Tax rates per Take A Look at this. As it stands now with the Trumps Tax cuts the u. S. Is in the middle of industrial nations at 25. 8 . But, with the Tax Hike that President Biden is proposing the u. S. Corporate Tax Rate once again be the highest in the industrial world at 32. 3 . Ms. Rouses, how can you argue that is not going to hurt u. S. Competitiveness in the corporate sphere . How can you argue this not going to drive some businesses . There are two things here. First President Biden fundamentally believes government can be very ineffective is importance. And we all need to pay our fair share. What was seen over the past several decades as the wealthiest americans, the big corporations are getting wealthier and they are contributing less in terms of federal revenue. The first point is to make sure everybody pays their fair share. Not to increase taxes on the Middle Class. Not increase taxes on anyone making less than 40000 a year. The second point is the Corporate Tax rate is really being proposed to not even go back to her was in 2017. Just to have an increase. I think we can also see is what the Tax Cuts that happen in 2017 will reduce the Corporate Tax rates, not seen and competitiveness. Everyone shall pay their fair share. We do not be disadvantaged. Syntax internationally so theres not. [inaudible] tell you think will be less competitive if we have the highest Corporate Tax rate in the world as opposed to the middle of the industrial world . Not just necessarily say it were less competitive. Of course we do not want to hamper u. S. Competitiveness, to the contrary. The idea is to ensure to button up some of the loopholes which have meant that corporations were actually putting more money offshore, off of the u. S. Soil. And having global minimum tax civil working with our training partners, working with the rest of the worlds of corporations have their fair share worldwide. We do not want to be hampering corporations. But we doing to ensure their paying their fair share as well. Then there is inflation. Former Treasury Secretary Larry summers who was an advisor both to President Bill clinton and to Barack Obama says this, lets put it on. There are already Labor Shortages in Food Services and retail were arty seeing spikes and the price of lumber and housing. I can add to that were seeing spikes in the price of Need And Use cars. Can you guarantee with all of this spending that we are not going to have a new round of overheating the economy or serious inflation . These are very serious concerns. We know coming out of an extremely deep recession there will be bumps along the way. Thereve been Supply Change disruptions and will cause transitory increase in prices. Some employers are struggling to find workers because lets face it were still the middle of a pandemic. Some workers would like to go back to work but they do not have childcare, their schools are not open. The pandemic is so out of Control And Summary parts of our country. We get to the other side of this pandemic. Full expect our Labor Market will come back and be flourishing. That said we do expect some transitory price increases the fed expects that as well. We do not see evidence that at the moment those have become what we called the anchored with runaway inflation. With that said Love Vigilance and will watch the data. The most is what we expect coming out of a big recession. Ive less than a minute left that want to ask you one strategy question. There are reports that a president is willing to break up, particularly the Infrastructure Plan into chunks to get at least some of it past with bipartisan support. Some democrats are saying slow, steady, and piecemeal. As a matter of strategy as a president willing to break infrastructure into various pieces and overall is the willing less than 2. 5 chilean dollars . With the present has said whats really important is we act to now. Action is not an option. And so he is willing to work with congress parties open to many ideas. He believes fundamentally we need to making these kind of investment center country. We need to be stoking and supporting the kind of innovation we need existenial threats such as climate change. We need to be investing in our people permitting to be reinvesting infrastructure. The president has said we need to make these investments for women this investing over the past 40 50 years. Whats not an option is an action hes willing to work with all members of congress to make that happen. Jackie ms. Ross thank you, thanks your time please come back it up next will get reaction from republican senator bill cassidy. A number of a bipartisan group in congress. Find a way to compromise. Text Chime Text Chime Text Chime sighs Text Chime chuckles Text Chime its the biggest week in television. Watchathon week is your chance to finally watch shows you missed for free. Now you get to talk about them with your friends, no matter what time it is. Say watchathon into your voice remote and watch for free chris President Biden says hes prepared to compress a big new government program. Its not possible considering he and republicans are trillions of dollars apart. Joining us now from louisiana bill cassidy, a member of the gang of ten senate republicans looking for a deal. Senator you just read my conversation with cecilia rows, your reaction . There is a lot in there which is easily disputed. She talks about big government being essential element. Pfizer did not take federal dollars for example to take that vaccine wears a Trump Administration and congress given regulatory flexibility paid the area of big government coming back will throw the progress we need to make. I think we need to see recent history about how that is exactly true. Chris lets look though at some of the key provisions in the president s Jobs Plan and his families plan. I want to put them up on the screen. 100billion for workforce development. 40billion for disabled. 25billion for Child Care. 200billion for free preschool. Senator, which of those programs i just put up, to people dont need. If its important for advances not infrastructure people say i like that this plan will not give it to its solo over five years you are not going get your bridge. The bipartisan working groups to get at Family Support is dependent, as a people my state would really like to see. I guess the question is, we could argue and i have backandforth with infrastructure. There are a lot of programs that are not infrastructure. The question i am asking you would you support the government paying for them . I looked into it. In your state of louisiana the rate of Child Poverty is 25 . One and four of children and louisiana are in poverty. According to the White House 42 of residents in louisiana do not have access to childcare. Wouldnt they benefit from these Government Programs . I dont know if they would. Its good education. Keep Keeping Schools shut the president wants to give universal prek run by the same teachers unions for if you are in chicago was more money going to the unions and the darned open because the cdc says its not safe because they dont want to not going have a better education than just not. Whether or not these programs benefit those who need it, we do not know. Because it is going through a system which is so poorly served the same folks we wish to help. Chris as a Tax Witness rows, is not only disagreement about spending this a disagreement but how youre going to pay for. It would undo much of the Trump Tax cuts. I want to Take A Look at the Tax Cuts for to quench the tax policy center, the average first Year Tax Cut for a Household Making less than 25000, the average Tax Cut was 60 per the average Tax Cut for Household Making 3. 4 million was 193,000. And contrary to talk that it will pay for itself, the Trump Tax cuts are now projected to have a one and a half trillion dollars to the deficit over ten years. Senator of the 2 Million Tax Filers in louisiana paying more filing Gross Income of more than 5000. So what is wrong with raising the top Tax Rate to where it was during the bush 43 and obama administrations either help the working or Middle Class . If all you do is look at firstdegree effects, chris you can make a point like that, sounds just like President Biden speaking to congressman not accusing you im just pointing that out. Look at the overall effect the aspiration of this biden administration is to return to the economy we had before covid. We had record low unemployment which means record high employment for africanamericans, veterans, the disabled High School Dropouts with Wage Growth disproportionately in the lower quintiles of the infrastructure. Thats where seeing the economy really help. As part of the taxcut you cant separate them. If eunice ate my gosh these people are making more money, why dont we return and keep the taxcut and Jobs Act that is the flipside of the question youre asking. I think that flipside is the part that should be emphasized. The argument is the wealthy corporations more than they did the working and middleclass. Want to play a little bit about President Biden said to congress on wednesday, here he is. The american Jobs Plant as a bluecollar blueprint to build america. That is what it is. The president says that his plan is going to help the working and middleclass, making the corporations and the wealthy the people over 40000 a year pay more. What is wrong with that . If you raised academics would say if you raise taxes on corporations then you have lower wages you have less investment and you have shareholders think pension Funds Rate if its okay to have lower wages for working people, its a bluecollar thing. If it is okay to have less investment, its a bluecollar thing. I feel at higher wages a few more investment if you are more efficient deployment of capitol that is anti bluecollar. We saw under the taxcut Jobs Act bill a bluecollar working bill. Investment increase wages among the lower quintiles of americans with full employment. Thats the recipe for success. Not taking trillions and trickling it through democratic Interest Groups unhelpfully and hopefully getting down to the folks you want to help. All right so lets get to the bottom line here, senator. After talking to you and cecilia rows, you are part of the socalled gang of ten more centrist more moderate senators also a gang of ten democrats who were trying to work together to get a deal on infrastructure specifically. But i suppose also in some of these Family Plans as well. Given your so far apart, trillions of dollars apart in spending given you are trying dollars apart in taxes what are the chances for a deal here . A bipartisan Compromise Deal . Mikel firstly pushed back with that conservatives and progressives in our Group Partner just willing to speak. Think of the definition of a moderate is what you traditionally use its better to say conservatives and progressives coming together to find common ground. Now in terms of being far apart if youre talking about a scope which is a roads, bridges, internet, tunnels, airports, waterways we can be pretty close for if you are talk about Spending Hundreds of billions of dollars to benefit public service unions then we are far apart. So if we can agree upon the scope, we can fix those breeze bridges in louisiana and elsewhere. I would argue the administration needs to be honest with The American people if you really want roads and bridges, republicans arty are. If you want to have permission to a lot of other stuff thats a different story. Roads and bridges we are a lot closer than you might think. Chris Center Cassidy thank you rethink you for joining us this weekend. Its always a pleasure to talk with you sir. Up next to bring or send a group to discuss the precedents push for a return to big government. Can he sell it in washington . A sign for corporate america theyre just beginning to pay their fair share. With the guard to the direction of the biden administration so far it can be described as the Biden Bait and switch. President biden making the case for raising taxes to pay for his big spending plan. Senate Republican Leader Mitch Mcconnell pushing back hard. Its time now for a sunday group, Dana Paris a coanchor of Americas Newsroom and author of the new Book Everything will be okay. Polster and foxs contributor Kristen Anderson and former democratic Congressman Harold Ford junior. Christian, the White House has clearly made a calculation that in the wake of the Pandemic And Wake of the multitrillion Dollar Bills that the republican Senate And President Trump Sign there is a shift in public attitude about Government Programs. Two questions, does the pulling back that up . Shift in public opinion . Is big government back . The polling tends to show americans slightly prefer more government with more services to a smaller government with less services. At the same time or sing twentyyear highs with americans in their dissatisfied with how the government is working. Its a little bit of the food is terrible and the portions are so small that americans dont think the government is great at doing the things that are supposed to be doing. That is not necessarily mean theyre looking to government. Democrats are in a somewhat precarious position. People do want to see things that will tangibly make their lives better. On the other hand trillion Dollar Big Deal after big deal after big deal it becomes too disconnected from a people in the real lives pretty becomes huge numbers that presents a huge opportunity to harness that anxiety and bring back the energy against big government we saw perhaps during the Gingrich Area the rise of the party. Dana i want to pick up on exactly that point. Republicans clearly think they can betray democrats once again as spend and tax. Biden plans are not bailing out Wall Street as obama did during the great recession. They are not bailing out people on welfare as they did with lbj in the great society. So is it going to be when you see programs for Child Care or preschool or community colleges, in fact that would be a harder case for republicans to make. We will see prepart of the thing theyre public is at the deal with right now is they need something to unify them. This bill this Infrastructure Bill and the other planning like The American Family Plan that actually could do that. One of the things these programs sound popular breaks not by a lot its 54 , 55 say guess i think i would like that. When you start asking the second question of hows it going to be paid for, thank its a little bit more difficult. Republicans of dons and pretty smart on this. The center from West Virginia he was arty set i want to get a deal done. I am here. Theres a few options shes on her phone and wants to work at it. Forget republicans getting on Board Senator Mark Kelsey And Manchin to name a couple. Theyre arty saying quote this might be too much. While Joe Biden feels like the planets are uniquely aligned institutions that media and the business on his side with the pandemic behind them might be the reason they feel they need to get so much done so quickly. But 2022 is definite in the merits as objects are closer than they appear that is what 2022 is right now for the democrats. Harold, as i discussed with Cecelia Rows a lot can go wrong when youre proposing big government. We saw with the obama stimulus i did not do a good job in picking winners and losers. There is that very real threat that set Larry Sommer talks about about overheating the Economy And Inflation those could both blow up for the democrats. They could good morning thanks for having me on. I think a couple of things i think back in the 80s during the Cold War we spent massively and we spent in a smart way i thought there democrats that do not support that there were more republicans it did the Master Job at World Creation came out of it for the country we defeated our foe. Were organizing today about a new Cold War how do you go after china . I think thats what the president has to focus on if hes going to continue to win bipartisan support but is not winning in washington hes winning it amongst voters. Dana worked for a president after 911 they had to understand a heavy Parvenu Platform pretty here we are today americas push to sink more energy Projects Petroleum products it anywhere in the world. The next challenges who can when the energy production battle. Can we beat china . Can we beat asia . What did we learn from the pandemic. Are we making smart investments. Is open to negotiation that we havent seen im excited to see senator cassidy, and Senator Senator Sinema and kelly at the table saying weve got to find a compromise here that makes sense and builds bipartisan support and makes the bill more sustainable. Chris i want to pick up on exactly the point you made on the international implications. Heres another clip from President Bidens speech to congress on wednesday night. It is to prove democracy still works better government still works you can deliver for our people. Chris chris that i have to say it sounds like a poll tested line. Can President Biden use this argument is a way of advancing the u. S. Position in the world. Mrs. Took democracy can deliver. I think again its nice poll tested line. Its also very 35000 feet. Again in the midst are coming out of a pandemic we are still healing the economic damage of the last year. Not this is the 35000foot Level there at the level of their own home. We talked earlier about the potential risk of inflation. Inflation is not something ive seen Pop Up as a concern of polls in my entire career. Especially not been top of the polls for my lifetime. Network begin to see folks say im worried about cost of living going up. So i do think there is an outside rift here thats all the sudden the economic policies put in place under president trump, which mind you thats the one thing that was very good in the Poll Numbers for trout. They said they thought he was doing a good job on the economy. Rolling a lot of that back if it risks globally and begins to hurt people in their own pocketbooks by The Cost Of Living going up the December Potential downside to the path of the biden administration. Chris dana, you talked earlier about the 2022 midterms. Even though were only in The Second Of May for 2021 its office in peoples minds. I was in a briefing this week was Senate Leader schumer said he had been surprised by how effective Bernie Sanders Push for putting 1400dollar paychex in peoples pockets, not surprising as opposed people really like getting free money. And his argument is, if the democrats can make a difference in people lives this year, that theyre going to remember in 2022, is he right . I do not know we will see. Theres a saying in washington, never mistake a referendum for a mandate. The Chief Of Staff who i think is behind a lot of the big ambition, he felt that obama did not do enough and did not do it fast enough. They wanted to get as much as they can, do as quickly as they could do it before they start to settle and. Heres the thing, its not just this issue. I think the Inflation Issues very real. The house republicans had not use it lose a single incumbent last year. They got really good recruiting this time around. And they got something to push up against thats going to be one, histories on their side. The president usually loses members of his own party during that first midterm. And dont forget maybe well talk about this next is the whole issue of the cancel culture, awoken us of the democratic party you had veterans warning the democrats you actually are headed for a real in 2020 if you keep this up. Well, that is what we are going next. Panel have to take a break here. Up next the debate over federal Government Involvement in public schools. What should we teach kids about race . They double down on this concept of liberal oppression. It is stunning 2021 that those who speak about ending discrimination want to end by more discrimination. Chris republicans that are Tim Scott on the reaction to his biden rebuttal this week. Arguing the u. S. Is not a racist country. We are back now with the panel. Harold, just Tim Scott have a point that the left believes in choice except when it comes to freedom of thought. And what is particularly repugnant is an africanamerican, even an africanamerican who has a conservative point of view. Some probably feel that way but imports of Politics Today is a mindless tactic on both sides it suggest if you disagree with someone, the way to beat them is to cancel them. The same progressives that sought to cancel Tim Scott with those awful things being said on twitter, remind me of Mitch Mcconnell went to cancel out the 1619 project. Look, i am not afraid of ideas. I will never stop believing or give up on the fact i can disagree with someone on policy and still like them and very likely still learn something from them for the reason you have multiple biographies the reasoning of multiple pieces of work done on to pursue different episodes and people in historys biggest new things come to light. Im not afraid of a perspective that i may not disagree with. Shame on any progressive or any conservative who thanks the way you win an argument is to cancel someone out. Said it before weve got to be so we have to be smarter, better have a robust debate about the issue. Are going to get to the 1619 project explain to folks who may not know what that is all about. I want to pick up with you, dana, on Tim Scott and what happened to him this week. We have seen this before. One special target for the left is supreme Court Justice Clarence thomas. Ifu are a black conservative you must be a sell out by im sorry same as escaping me right up at the Attorney General from kentucky gave that great speech at the Republican National Convention got it too. Its one of those things like the left and sometimes march the right. Tim scott is a happy warrior are not sure how to attack him. Think its pretty amazing because of the attacks on Tim Scott, now he gave a good speech. As far as a rebuttal i would say no to those rebuttals it so hard to follow a president. Yet Tim Scott was able to steal the show this week. He is a person thats reticent to talk about himself. When he is attacked like that he will effectively push back. And i think one of the things he democrats dont realize theyre doing is theyre elevating this person who can really try to unify a republican party when they can use community. I want to turn to the issue that harold was talking about. Another race issued this week. That was more than three dozen republican senators led by Mitch Mcconnell sent a letter to the Education Department asking them to and a Grant Program in terms of what is going to teach the curriculum. That pushes the issue of race. The question i had for you, kristen, before we delve down more into this, is that part of the Culture Wars . Is not a smart area for republicans to double down on right now . And in the wake of George Floyd in the protest last summer where is the country on the issue of race now . In terms of the politics of it, issues like the Economy And Healthcare can always rise to the top. Much more so than the Culture War issues. At the same time it does send a signal from one site or the other that perhaps youre too extreme and too out of touch pretty dont necessary understand the average american is going through. And if for instance. Our hearing all my goodness, separating the white children and the children of color. Teaching them different lessons and requiring them to view each of the through race. That may not be like progress. That may seemed like progress to me. Certainly kids at Home And Cause parents to be very anxious about whats going on in our country. In terms of where american stand on the overall conversation about race. American sisters beautiful its wonderful its worth celebrating. We are also imperfect country. Its worth making sure our children know about the mistakes that have been made for it we learn from those mistakes. We are not a racist country to Country Worth celebrating but imperfect his response to the Gop Letter Secretary cardona. Take a look. The reality is, when we are discussing curriculum the federal government does not have a role in curriculum development. Guest harold, the argument is about the fact, lets put in context. Its about a 5 milliondollar Grant Program in the Education Department that has a budget of 74 billion. But they are upset about is the Grant Program was for School Districts. But give them money if they would set curricula they were antiracist. Nothing wrong with that obviously. It did mention the 1619 project was something started and pushed by the new york times, which has eight revisionist history, what you make of this controversy . Look, i think some and the republican party are trying to find ways to unite and unify this may be one of those issues. But like i said, i am not afraid of more perspective being shared. At the School District does not want to take the money, they dont have to. Again i think Tim Scott was precisely right. Chris let me interrupt for a second, Harold Lamy Interrupt for a second period or theyre upset about what theyve talked about is the 1619 project argues the Revolutionary War was fought for the south to keep their slaves. A lot of people say no it was to throw off the yoke of british colonialism. So can you understand why people be upset by that . Sure. I would not save of the School District superintendent i would take the money. Im really saying that option is there. I would assume their other perspectives being taught and shared around this issue. Eric is written brilliantly about this era on the second founding of our country. I hope kids learn all these perspectives. We asked the question leading to the segment i talk a lot more about constructively. Thank you, thank you panel see you next sunday. Up next hour Power Player of the week prethe first College Athlete to profit off her image. Showing others how they can too. Kristin its been a debate for decades, should College Athletes be able to make money off their celebrity. Our Power Player is in the vanguard of a new era in college sports. I feel super blessed and super grateful to be a trailblazer. Volleyball player khloe mitchell, one of the first College Athletes to make money off her own image, its a Game Changer for players who for decades have earned millions for schools, merchandisers and broadcasters but not themselves. How do you feel about College Athletes finally getting to benefit from bigtime college sports. I could not be more excited. I mean, its american, right . Its american to be able to get out there to make your own brand and to capitalize off of that, thats when an idea hit me. It happened almost by accident and partially due to sports. She gained a following as a Do It Yourself Guru during the pandemic, sharing videos of how she turned her Parents Storage shed into her own she shed. In the end my nasty shed went from this to this. The number of people following her blew up. One of my best friends texted me and was khloe, open up the app, look at the views youre getting. At the time i had 32 followers. How many followers do you have on took . Tiktok. I have 2. 7 million followers. More followers meant more sponsors, asking her to plug their products. I was tired after this so i grabbed my smart cup. She faced a choice heading into her Freshman Year as an athlete in college in michigan. I keep working and making money off tiktok, i will be ineligible to play my sport. Her College Association became the first to end the ban on College Athletes making money from their name, image or likeness. My daddies going to love this. Mitcher made her first ad. May i ask how much they paid you . It was around three grand. Wow. Pretty good. Yeah. Yeah, it was awesome. Im paying for college. Im paying i pay for my canned my computer. For me, thats great money. It sparked another idea. An App Mitchell and her dad have created called playbook where she helps fellow College Athletes find their own sponsors. Mitchell gets a small cut of each deal. If you are a collegiate athlete, chris, you could look at the app and say look at this, i have a kid who wants a video from me or you could get a message from a local business or maybe a national business, saying hey, we would love for you to post on your instagram about us. Ultimately, its an app that connects athletes to businesses and fans. Mitchell says the beauty of playbook is its for any athlete, not just megastars. How big do you think playbook could become . Chris, i think that one Day Playbook is going to be an app on every athlete and every champs phone.
