But he has told me repeatedly that the Consent Decree is what has allowed him to really drive change in baltimore. So you know what the . I want us to be successful. But the same law allows for Law Enforcement to share privately with anyone with a direct connection to the video. In this case, its the andrew brown family and lawyers. The lawyers have not told us what they have seen on this video. It was delayed. They were supposed to view it at 11 30. The officials needed to make changes to blur some things to protect the integrity of the investigation. Now for the last hour, the family and lawyers have been inside viewing it. A 70 jump in victim shootings this year compared to this time last year. The nypd disbanded their anticrimes unit in 2020. Thats about 600 plain clothed officers that took illegal guns off of our streets. The mayor was just asked to respond to this crime surge. Heres what he said, martha. A lot of people would be surprised to know that compared to other developed nations around the world, we rank 37th in math. 18th in science. So if anything, we need to be encouraging kids who are talented in these areas, no matter what color they are, whether they are white or black or asian. If they are able to do more difficult material, shouldnt they be able to take advanced classes so we can move these rank numbers higher . Its a very competitive world out there. Right. Our problem is were so concerned about equity and we need to try to push these kids to strive to do better. I tell my kids all the time, theres always going to be someone smarter than you, faster, stronger, prettier. The sooner you realize that, the better off youll be. What bothers me is theres this assumption i want to pull up the virginia they showed in the standardized testing. According to the standardized testing, asian students did 94 above average. Hispanics 74 . Black students 70 above. So theres disparity there. It doesnt seem like the way to improve that is to hold back kids. Again, i want to emphasize whatever their color. Theres kids who fall into those different categories that can part of the group that is advancing, right . Yeah. You cant take a kid and say youre performing too well. Martha theyre going to be bored out of their minds. Yeah. We need to pile our resources to those kids testing as well and help them do better. If anything with this pandemic, i think people are flocking to private schools. Its making a bigger divide. However, i represent a viewpoint that millions of other americans hold, that who are we as republicans .
