I dont even want to talk about it, i dont feel safe on my own campus. Tucker its an awful story but the reality is very different. It turns out the student was eating in a deserted room that had been closed, and in response, Smith College denounced the janitor as a racist. They put him on leave. Then for reasons that were never really clear, mama went after dt after a Cafeteria Worker that wasnt even involved. Finally they are getting some support. Robert watson is a founder of the Woodson Center and they are both raising money for those workers at Smith College. We are glad they are and honored to have them on tonight jody, first to you. Because its wrong. Its absently wrong, what happened to them. They were not involved in this incident at all and by the way, the custodian who actually did call Campus Police was also not in the wrong. And smith has dug its heels and even deeper and is not taking responsibility. They were both i wanted to remind people that these are actual human beings that have been materially harmed, both of them. And very real way is, which i could talk more about. Tucker i just wonder, Smith College has an enormous endowment, their own art gallery, its a beautiful place. They got enough money to make these people hold, throughout the Cafeteria Workers, you know, and the janitor. Why arent they . In my opinion i think its because the college is so blindly devoted to this narrative of systemic racism which, even though it has not provided any evidence of such on its own campus, publicly absolving these employees of these very public accusations of racism might interfere with that narrative, that it wants to uphold.
