Republicans say on substance thats what the founders wanted. Thats what they wanted to have, this place that was not a state to be the center of government. And as you point out there, they believe this is all about trying to keep hold of power for democrats that have a slim hold right now. If the district of columbia was overwhelmingly red based on everything about the need for representation, would you be on this program pushing for two more republican senators from the district of columbia . I think that what youre going to run up against here is that this is the first in a series of bills that the house is going to move including hr1 to kind of Bombard Manchin and sinema that is preventing the filibuster from going by the Way Side saying youre not giving representation to the point that you wear them down and somehow some way they relent on some big bill. If they could wear them away and as you point out they seem to be holding steady for now, but the president seems to be have changed his mind about the filibuster. Theres a lot of violent crime in the cities around this country.
