every one of the men american is disenfranchised. middle-class americans become less powerful every year, less economic power and thanks to mass immigration they have less political power. the leaders making these changes have no sympathy for their victims, they blame the country for its own suffering. jillian: 20 days after vice president kamala harris was tapped to lead the biden administration response the border crisis she still has not held a news conference or visited the border. fox nation's tomi lahren says this is dereliction of duty, she joins us live at 5:30 eastern time. new statement a spokesman for desantis criticize youtube for removing the video saying it is a, quote, blatant example of big tech attempting to silence those who disagree with their woke corporate agenda. one of the president's jobs is being sent away for training, major is receiving .. jillian: a fox news alert, unrest in minneapolis, the city ravaged by protest including following the police shooting of dante right. the shooting may have been an accident. here to react is retired detective angel, i will play body camera footage. take a look. >> i just shot him. carley: this is a family that no longer has a son. a young boy who no longer has his father. you look at the video, explain what happened and what should have happened. >> she had her gun out. as soon as they found out he had a warrant and he started to resist they should have gone hands-on but repeat police climate in this country police are afraid to get hands-on. she had her gun out. it was a fatal error, she made the fatal mistake of shooting him, you can tell from her reaction it was a fatal mistake. >> as you ever heard of anybody else making this horrific mistake? there are calls for more police training to avoid something like this from happening in the future? >> everybody wants to defund the police. how are they going to get money to train the officers so this won't happen again when they want to defund the police? jillian: it begs the question, i have never been in a situation a law-enforcement officer has been but a lot of people are asking how do you mistake the taser for a gun in a situation like that? >> it is a high stress situation, you help your fellow officers, your gun is out, it was a perfect storm of something that shouldn't have happened. you can tell she is thing taser taser taser, she did not intentionally shoot him, it was a horrible mistake. police aren't infallible. jillian: the situation leading to riots and protests in minneapolis and other cities across the country, police made 40 arrests, police and national guard out in full force but one congresswoman is calling for no more policing, she posted this tweet saying it wasn't an accident, policing in our country is inherently and intentionally racist, dante right was met with aggression and violence which i'm done with those who condone government-funded murder, no more policing, incarceration and militarization. it can't be reformed. what is your reaction to that tweet? >> gas lighting, ridiculous, law enforcement officers make 10 million arrests a year, thousands of incidents between police and people of every color who occur every day without incident. police aren't infallible. it was a fatal mistake, talking about getting rid of the police, this is a problem that she and the rest of the squad perpetuated. it is a ridiculous notion. shannon: you touched on a training aspect. i want to delve deeper. we are at police climate where you have so many retiring early, policing don't want to step up and be in law enforcement so you have the conversation about police getting enough training but also police leaving the force early and summit no longer wants to join. what do you do? what is the answer for police today? >> the answer is they have to stay the course. we've sworn -- there will always be people who want to take the oath and do the job because it is a calling and got to stay the course. we have to do it in spite of the hatred and vitriol, the police would respond. shannon: you make a good point about funding or not defunding police and calling for increased training for officers, thank you. jillian: still to come president biden expert to lead cvp, arizona police chief who has defended sanctuary cities and resistant trump border policies so will he take on the border crisis. arizona sheriff mark daniels sounds of an admission next. >> nancy pelosi taking on the squad, the tough talk aimed at her progressive colleagues coming up. jillian: southern california suspect to safety while another worked to put out the flames. driver crashed into a tree trying to get away and 7 serious injuries but is expected to be okay. police say she was driving a stolen car. president biden's pick to leave cvp is in arizona. chief with a pastor criticizing trump's border policy and supporting century city so as the crisis at the border surges out of control how will he be able to help? arizona sheriff mark meadows is here to weigh in. there is currently a change in leadership at cvp, president biden just name tucson arizona police chief chris magnus to be the commissioner and that is notable because as i said he anti-trump, anti-against a lot of the president's hard-line border policies so what is your reaction to him being in charge of cvp now? >> i did not see this coming. one of the things border sheriff do, we push on relationships. i know chief magnus, i worked with him on a couple things, i've not worked with him on any border related issues. is cities just north of my county and i've not worked with him on border issues. he's not one that has been done on the border working with local chefs and others so i don't know. this was a curve ball on this one so we hope he works with us in relationship with us because there's a lot of issues, the border is a crisis right now so we need somebody that can lead with sheriff's, with communities and hope you can do that. >> keep us posted on that front which i want to talk about policy. the biden administration just security deal with mexico, honduras and guatemala so that they will add military to their borders to stem the flow of folks trying to come into this country and i was priced year that because that is something the trump administration had done. of the trump administration already did this why would the biden administration have to renegotiate this deal? >> we are starting over after 7 years of working the border and seeing the and flow of good, bad and ugly, learned, donald trump and his administration worked with the dhs secretary and halted everything and we are doing it all over again and this is all about having those transitional relationships in place the matter who is sitting as president and having leaders at dhs that can work with what we are doing, that is securing this border. jillian: now the troops of been mobilized in central america do you think we will start to see the number of illegal immigrants coming into this country go down? is this a solution? >> we hope so. the president of the united states is to send a message that you cannot come across the water without consequence. that mrs. like anything in the business, we have to stop the flow which goes back to border security, we need to reform our immigration policies. if we can get that commitment from the president and the vice president and make this a priority we can do it. jillian: one of the things the biden administration did was spent $87 million to house illegal family units in hotels and we just learned there is a detention center that is almost empty, that they are not using called the carnes county family residential center. why aren't they using that facility? >> the word is there spending millions of dollars putting them in hotels in the inner part of the country so they are emptying out the centers we see on national media and we all care about kids, these kids come from hard lives. the issue is we need a grip on this because they will keep coming. they expect 200,000 unaccompanied minors this year coming across the southwest border. way beyond the capacity. but you've also got to look at what our priorities should be on the border and immigration reform like i said a minute ago and if we don't do that it will only continue. >> $60 million a week to house these children, got to take care of the kids but it comes with a big price tag. thank you for joining us, appreciate it. jillian: students speak out after california teacher is caught on details. jillian: that is right, california students and parents breaking their silence this week after their teacher was kind camera berating her class over their parents push for in person learning and it wasn't her first time lashing out. the students speaking out after fox news obtained a video of alyssa pyro raising her voice during a virtual class session saying she's had enough. >> if your parent wants to talk to me about how i am not doing a good enough job in distance-learning, what you need as an individual, and their them to come at me. because i am so sick to my stomach parents trying to tell educators how to do their job. jillian: the outburst according to one student wasn't her first. the student said another was prompted by his asking why certain places have student unions but others, saying they should all have unions free quality. >> he says things along the lines of we don't need a white union, you have everything, stuff like as a white male it is your duty to look out for pushed down minorities, she said stuff like you moron. >> san marco's unified school district has started a hybrid learning model in which students, they want the district to expand distance-learning for middle and high school students. was placed on administrative leave with the superintendent saying they are deeply concerned about the videos of her and saying she will be afforded due process and privacy rights. district said the matter is being taken very seriously and receiving their highest scrutiny. >> students join me along with reopen california school's facebook page creator and member of the parent association of north county. we appreciate you being here. brooke outlined the back story for us. i want to go to one more clip here if we can and get you to respond, this is of your teacher yelling at you for asking about the unions, take a listen. >> other people put them in that situation. you get everything. >> it has been a couple days since this has been getting national attention, people across the country have seen this. how do you feel about what you experienced? >> i was initially shocked that a teacher would shout god's name in vain and make racist remarks and call her student a moron, me. >> when you saw this video what was your reaction? >> first time i saw the video was yesterday, he described to me what transpired and i was just surprised and concerned we have educator, somebody that can influence our kids lives like this and it was very disturbing. shannon: the district announced the teacher has been put on administrative leave pending an investigation that was in a statement to fox. have you heard anything else from the school? >> nothing official from the school, no. only what you got. >> do you think you should be hearing more from the school? >> i did hear from the assistant principal yesterday and she wanted to make sure we felt comfortable going back to school and was concerned if he needed to go to a different class, different english class or if he was okay returning to his class because they expressed concern about it and are doing damage control right now. jillian: i want to bring in jonathan and kimberly to this conversation, what is going on in the school system. the educational crisis that is happening in los angeles with 13,000 students disengaged, two thirds of students falling behind in literacy and math, 20% in the class of 2021, risk of not graduating. when you see statistics like that, hard to wrap your mind around why most schools are at this point putting out there model of how they are getting back full-time. some parents are still wondering when my students going back full-time? >> it is deeply concerning. we know the distance-learning model or virtual learning at home model is not working for our kids. our own district at a board meeting last month, grades are falling, this isn't working and we are asking them to explain to us why we are not working on reopening further. our parents are asking the school to be reopened full-time 5 days a week so these kids get the education they deserve. jillian: you have been involved in this pretty heavily. there have been a number of lawsuits in california. give us an update where everything is. >> there's a lawsuit where they won temporary restraining order against the state basically saying these arbitrary guidelines were inappropriate and that opened the door for a lot of schools to be open full-time but we are not seeing that happen, we are seeing teachers unions dig their heels in preventing a lot of this from happening and there was an update last thursday involving san marco's where they told the judge they were expanding in person learning and the judge took them at their word yesterday and issued a ruling that says we believe that so we will be watching closely. i'm sure california will be watching to make sure they do their best to get back in the classroom 5 days a week. jillian: back to you. i'm curious, what it has been like for you to be home and attempt to learn and keep up with your grades, i know you have been successful in schooling but this is hard and i wonder how the rest of your teachers have been because you could make the argument a lot of teachers do want to get back into the classroom but their hands are tied. >> i find much ease in distance-learning. i like it because all i can do is lay back, throw my assignments and game in the same manner of 30 minutes. in person learning whether it is hybrid or full-time will be very appreciated because the social aspect that i lacked previously is coming to fruition. shannon: thank you for joining us, appreciate your time and your teacher did not respond to fox news's request for comment. thank you. have a good day. turning
