Shes a much sought after voice on every possible topic from economics to the way society is designed to the details of complex Foreign Policy questions. During this interview, which was streamed online, she was asked, how do you bring peace between the palestinians and the israelis. Heres what she said. I think that when we talk about establishing peace centering peoples humanities, protecting peoples rights, its not just about the what and the end goal, which often gets a lot of focus, but i actually think its much more about the how and the way that we are coming together and how we are how we interpret that what and how we act, the actions that we take to get to that what. We value jewish rather we value israeli we value the safety and human rights of israelis. We value the safety and human rights of palestinians. It went on like this. Centering peoples humanity. Protecting peoples rights. It was vapor. If you were her mom or her College Roommate or a close friend, you might give her a pass for what you just saw. Its pretty brave of her to weigh in on a subject she knows nothing about. Thats a charitable view. Where was her full defense of the palestinians, of their rights . Where was truth to power . That was ryan wentz reaction. Wentz is an antiwar activist in california. He watched and he wasnt impressed. He said so on twitter he wrote this. Her response was incredibly under whelming, to say the least, end quote. Thats what he wrote. A week later, the Police Showed up at his house. Two plain clothed officers arrived calling his name. They explained they had been sent by the Capitol Police to respond to a threat against a sitting member of congress. But wentz hadnt threatened alexandria ocasiocortez. He merely disapproved of her opinion. The police seemed unconvinced. As he explained in an interview with the gray zone, quote, they just wouldnt back down from this accusation that i threatened to kill her. Heres the spookiest part. Ryan wentz hadnt included any personal information in his social media profile and yet the police knew his name and they knew exactly where he lived. How did they find him . It seems likely that twitter turned ryan wentz in to authorities on behalf of their friend, alexandria ocasiocortez. Its hard to believe this is happening in america, but it is. California Highway Patrol confirmed it today. The Capitol Police told us they referred wentz name because he was mentioned in a threatening message. They denied that ocasiocortez requested an investigation. For her part, ocasiocortez also denied direct involvement in any of it, but she didnt seem especially upset that it happened. She certainly didnt launch into an impassioned speech about Civil Liberties like a liberal might do. But then why would you do that . Threatening people for daring to criticize the powerful is normal now. Thats a trend thats accelerated dramatically since january 6th, the day the hunt foredomestic extremists began. He wrote a blog calling it insane, irrational and stupid and added this, i will not lie to kids and tell them these masks are doing anything worth while out in an open field. Its funny you mention that. I decided to go run a 200 meter and 400 meter out on the track with a mask on so id have first hand experience. I knew it would be bad. I have run the races before. What i didnt quite realize was that as you inhale over and over again hard, youre actually sucking the mask into your mouth and your nose. It seals around your face so theres no air flow around the edges, which is how theyre designed. Everything has to come through the fabric. We can do anything because were americans and thats our birth right, to become whoever we can become. I dont think that any of us were any of us realized how genuinely different that part of society is. And so, no. I had no idea. I just wanted stability. That was my ticket to stability. I didnt realize that it would put me in an entirely different social class. Not basically, literally. Tucker of your three closest friends from high school, how did they do . My closest friends from high school, i think in part because my grandma really made sure that i tried to hang out with the good kids. That was one of the things she did when i moved in with her. Youve got to cut all the bad influences out. My three Close Friends from high school, they all live in sweat ohio. Couple of them went to college. They all have decently successful happy lives. They got married, have kids. Things are going well. The kids who really did poorly were the kids i was hanging out when i was 12 who were in the neighborhood, who started getting into drugs. Certainly know a few folks who are incarcerated, folks who struggled in other ways. I know a lot of people who overdosed on heroin and are no longer with us. Mamaw was remarkably per septemberive about how social classworked in america. I remember, like, she found out that i was hanging around with a kid in the neighborhood who was doing drugs. She said, j. D. , if you dont stop hanging out with this kid, im going to run him over with my car and nobody will ever know about it. Tucker would she have done that . 100 .
