Were going to talk about the new law there, it restricts mailin voting, makes it illegal to hand out food and water to people in line, waiting in line, thats called line warming, while theyre waiting to development its a practice as you know that has become popular over the past 10 years since the number of Polling Places have been reduced. It ends the use of portable polling sites like mobile voting busses that democrats used in fulton county, them atlanta and voteers will be required to provide drivers license or state id to cast a mailin ballot the democrats are saying Georgia Republicans want to change the rules and restrict voting to those very voters in georgia who delivered 16 location do you recall votes to joe biden and 16 electoral votes to joe biden. Arthel i want to move on. We have several things to get to. I want to get your take on its. The 23450u law gives more new law gives more oversight to State Politicians on how elections will run. The State Legislature has power to fill the majority of seats on the state Election Board, three out of five. That same board under this new law can suspend or replace local elections. The board can delay certification and you remember not long ago former President Trump was heard on a vetted recording asking georgias Secretary Of State Brad Raffensperger to, quote, find him enough votes to make trump the winner and not President Biden. Raffensperger as you know refused to, quote, find those votes but he did allow multiple recounts by hand which delivered the same result. So is stripping State Officials of independent oversight or elections why critics or opponents of the new georgia law view it as a way to potentially rig future elections. Well, you know, i think we just need to find out, as simple as this answer is, we need to find out if its going to come across as a problem or corrupt. There will be a lot of transparency with how they have made this law those kinds of decisions made. So i think that well be able to see in the next in the house or the midterms in 2022, how successful this is and as you pointed out earlier, this may end up in the courts and tied up in court for a very long time. So i think were in the we dont know stage of this new law. Arthel okay. More to talk about. I want to ask you about the Filibuster Aspect of it. Its been used in the past to oppose and block civil rights Voting Rights and so is this why you think the democrats seem to be saying that threatening in a way to get rid of the filibuster, to pass the john you john lewis Voting Rights act,o as they say, no matter what extent. What do you think about that. I think it will be next to impossible to eliminate the filibuster. Not only have Kyrsten Sinema and joan man joe manchin talked about that passionatesly, joe manchin told me a couple days ago, its not going to happen, its not going to blow up the filibuster. He believes its an important aspect. Its something that republicans and democrats in 2017 wrote a joint letter together, the majority saying its important to preserve it. Its what separates the senate from the house, makes the body more deliberate and it forces the body to compromise and i think its really going to be difficult to blow up the filibuster and have that sort of ill pact coming from the impact coming from the senate. Yeah, well it looks like hes taken a chapter out of the old of playbook that he used in the past, prior to President Trump come in, and certainly during the first year of President Trumps administration when he fired three icbms and also set off a Nuclear Weapons test on the ground. But this is a playbook that his father has used. By that i mean, normally some kind of aggressive testing of rockets and missiles, rhetoric threatening the United States and our allies all with the intent of having negotiations and getting some economic assistance and in this case he wants sanctions to be removed, plus economic assistance. And i believe this is the beginning stages of that playbook. I think well see some rhetoric coming pretty soon and also i would imagine hes going to increase the range of his missiles, in other words, these are short range ballistic. Hell go medium range and likely i would expect to see to get President Bidens attention that we really have to get back to Negotiating Table that hell go to long range Ballistic Missile as well. That will be part of his playbook. And again, its all about getting some relief. It has worked in the past, except remember in 2019 we had the hanoi summit, kim jong un, President Trump sitting down together and kim jong un refused to put any simple plan on the table to indicate he was serious about denuclearization. I mean, its pretty outrageous. Weve had three un resolutions passed to administer sanctions on north korea for their attitude and violation and missile firings. Russia and china voted for that as part of the un National Security council. The fact is, russia and china are both violating that. The United States should go to the un Security Council and lay in front of that where the russians and chinese will be sitting, the indisputeable evidence that they are violating their own resolution by providing economic assistance to north korea and throwing them a lifeline, sotospeak, and thats one of the reasons why kim jong un has been quiet all these last couple of years, because of that assistance. The other thing that needs to be done, a lot of nations are supposedly administering sanctions as well, eric. In the beginning, many of them start out Full Throttle but a lot of them start to pull back as the number of years go by. Weve got to revisit everyone of them and make sure the rigor is there and some from the beginning are halfhearted. We have to get on top of all of that. And listen, these short range missiles, they were fired in the vicinity of 80,000 u. S. Troops and allies in south korea and japan. We should not minimize it the way that President Biden just did. That is a major threat to our allies and to our own troops in the region.
