>> again, we fully support transparency and call homeland security for any press access or what you are looking to accomplish. the white house, we all need administration support in finding a way to grant access to the media to the hhs. no, the facilities are the shelters where these children are staying for a temporary period of time. >> juan: let me begin with you, she is the word crisis as you saw there. it is a big deal by critics of the biden administration border policy but my question to you, does it change anything in terms of the reality of what we are dealing with at the border? >> the reality that i'm most concerned with is reality of the children. i don't care what you call it, detention centers. i don't care if you call them cages, i don't care if you call it a crisis come i don't care if you call it a challenge but at least care about the kids, seem like you are caring about the kids instead of just hearing about words. and as far as access, there are two things that will sink any administration aside from the pandemic that is a big immigration crisis and tax policy failure. m biden could be on fast fast track to both. so let's talk about, these pictures are awful. the reality for these children is awful but you are not saying that because they are not granting access. and cdp and hhs are saying they are not allowed to take journalist on ride-a lungs and critical for how local and federal works and also for telling the story of these children who are writing by themselves with no end in sight. >> juan: jesse, this kind of surge of under age immigrants happens under republicans as well as democrats. i wonder if we can agree both republicans and democrats see more advantage in blaming president trump or blaming president biden then they are at solving the problem? >> jesse: this is shaping up to be a record surge of unaccompanied minors. and everybody cares about that if you are a republican or a democrat. but the crisis spot that the immigrants aren't they built that box. the last several years they slept the crisis label and everything to justify extreme and immediate reaction. remember the climate crisis, we had to spend $100 trillion or we will die. a constitutional crisis. we have to impeach trump immediately. a covid crisis, we have to spend $350 billion to bail out the blue states. they have done that to themselves. remember rahm emanuel said never let a crisis go to waste. finally, they found a crisis they don't mind wasting time confronting because they don't want to appear they have the tools to address did it. joe biden can come out right now and reinstitute the remaining in mexico policy. he can strong-arm the mexico government to force the mexican military to stop the caravans. he could expel the 16 and 17-year-old unaccompanied minors who are coming here. he could stop the catch and release and finish the border wall so you don't leave a mile of open space to come into. all of those things he can do, juan, to your point he can demand to not do comprehensive immigration forum but single out the asylum fix. he can fast-track that and that would stop the entire surge. but is not doing that. that would mean he would have to take action in he's too afraid of his radical, open borders left-wing base to do anything that might be similar to what donald trump did, even though that was actually effective in letting those people remain in mexico or central america and apply for asylum in their home countries like everybody else has done. now, he's playing this rhetorical game with the press to buy time so we doesn't have to take action. it is not what adults do. adults solve problems. they don't mess around and play word games. i'm surprised the president is wet, nearly 80? act like an adult and solve the problem. >> juan: all right, dana, today president biden tweeted out "the two house bills that will get voted on to take vote deal with immigration, one of the dreamers, one on foreign workers in both popular with the american people" and biden asked congress to come together and here i'm quoting "to find long-term immigration for the system." do you think there is any hope, dana, that they will get something done? >> dana: this is a classic way the democrats will do this. they will wait until a crisis, don't know how to solve it and why aren't the republicans coming up with solutions? they had solutions and you decided to go a different direction. lindsey graham from a senator from south carolina, said -- i don't want to put words in his mouth, but there were ideas on immigration reform that you would be willing to support but he said border security issue is one that you deal with and they will demand that it is dealt with first. and the white house press secretary, she doesn't need my help, but this is what i think there there is a name on twitter referring to the white house chief of staff as prime minister. yesterday, he held a meeting with the congressional progressive caucus, basically promising the sun, the moon, and the stars. when they do infrastructure, you bet, we will throw all of these things on their fear that meanwhile, the press secretary taking on endless water, unable to figure out this rhetorical situation that they put themselves in into me, they should rip the band-aid off. it is a crisis, move on or they will not be able to deal with the fact that they have a fact problem causing a communications problem but the communications problem initially from the campaign has caused their fact problem. the sooner they will be able to deal with something else. the white house chief of staff and prime minister, the communications director, where a susan rice? where is anybody to help her remind the president of the united states? she is taking on water. just call it a crisis and it will be over in 24 hours. and you can move on to try to deal with actual substance and not just the crisis challenge story. >> juan: greg come in fact, picking up on what pain is talking about, you have 20 centrist senators bipartisan coming together saying "we are looking for solutions in terms of immigration come in terms of infrastructure and beyond health care." i don't see schumer, the democratic leader in the senate come i don't see mcconnell, the republican leader getting behind these people. why not? >> greg: great question. right now i just feel bad for jen psaki. after that press conference. i heard her brother called afterwards and said don't cry, sis. anyway, you guys are missing, in my view, there is a really, really, really big story going on regarding immigration. but it is going on outside of this show. right now, if you try on any other channel, viewers are being sold the idea that america is the land of white supremacy. yet, right now we are seeing thousands, tens of thousands and it will be millions of nonwhite people risking life and limb to come to america. why would they do that?
