>> yeah that's exactly right. we sent a letter to the president early on, asking him to reconsider. and we've been never had much hope that he would do that. at this point we're gong ask the court to get involved again article one section eight we think is very clear and we think we're in good company here. steve: in addition to that you and 20 other attorney general wrote a letter to treasury secretary janet yellen and you said among other thing we ask that you confirm that the american rescue plan act does not prohibit states from generally providing tax relief later in the absence of section by may 23rd we will take appropriate action as well, and what is at play here is for your state to take the money, essentially the federal government is saying, okay. the states have the money but they can't cut the taxes. and choir worry a lot of states like montana were planning some sort of attack and now you're worried that they're going to -- won't get any of the federal dough. >> this is a huge matter for montana right now our legislature is in session right now and meet for 90 days every other year we've got a total state budget of right around 10 billion as it is so when the federal government prints money and throws $3 billion at us and then tell us we can't reduce spend or cut spending somewhere else that's a problem for a state leak pus so asked for clarification here. steve: because your state has been living within its means there are number of states that have. but then you've got new york which is where i am -- and during covid they locked down, and you know, their budget deficit through the roof now getting bailout. >> yeah montana you've got a balance budget eat. frankly i think we could be an example for the country. but this is a huge matter for us because this federal stimulus money or whatever you want to call it is nothing but more than a attempt to get us to grow our government. we don't want to grow our government we're republican controlled we want to live within our means an we love to provide some tax relief to our taxpayers. i think we can do that very easily here. but by definition they're not letting us do it. yeah you've asked secretary yellen for clarification. steve: all right when owe hear back from her let us know. he's attorney general for montana austin, sir thank you so much for getting up so early out in helena. >> happy to do it. steve: you bet. 22 minutes before the top of the house police reform is in the works here in new york state and although one county rejected activist proposals like calling for officers to get their own insurance policies, will other counties across the country be subject to similar radical reforms? one of the things the administration does not want to talk about because it is an uncomfortable truth. there is covid unfortunately throughout society, and -- ainsley: human trafficking, cartels, tariffs, covid 19, tax hikes, gas prices going up, no pipelines, jobs lost. >> the iron he too, a time that you don't wear a mask in the park anymore it is okay to have people stream across the border, you are not even testing. the was a republican movement in the house requiring a negative covid test for illegal immigrants before they are jettisoned in the interior country, blocked by democrats. they gave you an out and you decided to block it on pure instinct. you could have someone covid positive. we don't know. steve: something democrats made clear as they have big plans for infrastructure but they have to pay for it. they jack up taxes on people who have been successful. we heard from the current president, if you are making less than 400,$000, you will not see tax increases. he repeated it to abc, we were in it, watch. >> anyone making more than 400,$000 will see a smaller to significant tax increase, and additional federal tax. we would prefer to be small one. steve: he made very clear. everybody is figuring that is household income. jen psaki said wait, let me define it this way. >> anybody making 200,$000 will see a small to significant tax increase to clarify. did he mean individuals or households? he needs to listen to them, the families of the victims, listen to the soundbites from some of these people you will identify with each and every one. >> listen to these letters, these families suffering what he's doing to us. >> i don't feel justice going forward. for our law enforcement officers. steve: people like your brother, your brother is not here but you are your brother's voice right now. what do you want people to know about what this da in la county is doing to families like yours. >> he is victimizing families. he is potentially putting more harm to people of la. he should be protecting the people of la. with these new laws and policies these putting in this is given the green light to criminals. we can run loose in the city and nothing will affect them. what does that mean to a 7-month back who just got shot in the face? >> we are trending down and i believe we will trend down. there are a couple areas we are keeping an eye on but even areas like texas the got rid of their mask mandate the number of cases and hospitalizations is going down, florida as well, california is coming out of the woods, you know why? we have so much immunity built up from people who already got covid-19 over the weekend, a huge surge of that and doing better with vaccinations now that almost anywhere in the world other than israel, we can continue with, 100 million doses have been given plus people that had it here will continue on a downward trend. lockdowns don't work, they shouldn't be using them in europe and they didn't work here. the cost is tremendous. steve: why is it doctor fauci and others don't take in those who got it and recovered and have the antibodies, they only look at vaccines. why do they combine them both together true number? you will see an increase in crime. now when you tell these people come into the southern border you are going to see an increase in crime, in migration, victims. >> governor abbott was standing outside the convention center in dallas saying i am asking the federal government, to interview these children to see if they have been trafficked, one of every 10 migrants coming over as unaccompanied child. >> how little the texas governor knows, the federal government is not even telling the governor of texas what they are doing in texas. i know he is a republican and you are democrat but you came down to see what happened in houston, why can't you come down and say what are you seeing, maybe we can work to together. it is bad, that is the way it appears and the transparency not very transparent. let's talk a little bit about joe biden signing the executive order that pulled the plug on the keystone pipeline. 21 states led by montana and texas are trying to sue the biden administration because they say what joe biden did was unconstitutional. not only is it unconstitutional but impacted so many lives and so may different states. you can see on the map, talking about some of the people who were impacted by joe biden's day one decision. >> we were going to have the opportunity to work on the keystone. they were practicing to become a welder. we would be starting over. >> a lot of people hurting and he added to the list. >> a junior in high school, don't know how i will pay for it. have no idea. >> it is not fixed -- first or second generation but third generation, the depend on these jobs. >> talk about stress in the middle of a pandemic, lose your job with the stroke of one signature. the attorney general of montana, they are leading this lawsuit. the pipeline was searched to go through 6 of the families in montana and 5 of them are considered poverty counties. this means a lot to these individuals. they lost their jobs and are having trouble paying their bills and this is the largest property taxpayer of all those counties in the stroke of a pen they are gone. 4000 jobs lost. listen to what he said earlier. >> foreign and interstate commerce regulation is a power reserved to congress. president obama had his chance, the project, congress can undo its own act. joe biden stepped in 10 years later and try to veto this project. a huge project for montana, 4000 jobs, $60 million a year in property tax revenue, $130 million a year in employment benefits, wages, this was a huge project. steve: it had 0 environmental impact. still get the oil and so disappointing to see the canadian prime minister not put pressure on the president because it is canadian oil, they would have benefited as well. we are partners, but instead he came in and said that is it and don't you care about your country?
