to compact a pretty place that is reined by dormant volcanoes. but unlike other countries in the region, this country el salvador not high-end beach resorts or tourist attractions along the coast. there has been very little foreign investment and there is a reason for that. for a long time el salvador has been a dangerous place in a few yours ranked the most by rent domain violent country in the world. ongoing fighting in the '80s with the brutal civil war and extending to the current battle against gangs like ms-13. if you are from long island, virginia, you know all about ms-13. you read the stories about human trafficking and beheadings. el salvador's most famous export with millions of low-wage workers. about a third of all el salvadorians live in the united states, many illegally, and many more appear to be coming soon. the reason the biden administration has declared the violence in el salvador and other parts as a humanitarian crisis. that means the united states now has a moral obligation to fix and pay for that crisis. biden has ended so-called safe third world country agreements the united states once had with guatemala, el salvador, and honduras. migrants moving north without visas will no longer have to apply for asylum from the countries they come from here they can come directly to our country no questions asked. once in the u.s. they can qualify for free health care, free education, and citizenship. they will not be deported and they know it. so simply by crossing an international border, a line on the map, these migrants move instantly from poverty to the unimaginable benefits of the welfare state, or country. so who wouldn't make that trip? huge numbers are up people are making that trip. in february last month customs and border protection agency found 100,000 people trying to enter the united states illegally and most appear to be from central america. a year ago, for context, that number was 34,000. there is no precedent for an increase like that over a month so they learned several people rested up the southern border on the fbi terrorist watch list. we also learned there are over 13,000 unaccompanied migrant children in the detention center. that has more than tripled the record high under the trump administration. it just days ago, we were told the total number was 4,000 4,000 migrant children in custody. the numbers have been increasing exponentially since december, they seem likely to increase exponentially from here. in one board or facility in texas, the situation is now 729% over capacity, kids are being hurt by definition. is it to an emergency? fema has just been called in to help. just two months into the joe biden administration, the border is officially a disaster. the administration's into denying, they can't deny it, it's on tape. instead, they're telling us the tragedy they created is in fact, a side of home. watch. >> do you think it is coincident that trump an immigration policy on the way out and biden state of policy on the way in is a historic surge that the border started? >> surges tend to respond to hope. i don't know whether i would call that a coincidence, but i certainly think that the idea that a more humane policy would be in place may have driven people to make that decision. >> tucker: surges tend to respond to hope, explains a reckless arrogant bureaucrat to called roberta jacobson who should be teaching in the gender studies department in a community college, but instead, has power. hope, whose hope exactly? is there anyone in our country in the united states who sincerely believes that we are seeing tonight on our border will improve our country? of course, no one believes that, but it doesn't matter because the lies of actual americans mean nothing to the people making these decisions. your happiness is not a consideration and it's never even discussed in washington. instead, the rest have a duty to fix problems in countries that we don't understand. problems that, by the way, were substantially called to not by the united states, but other colonial powers centuries ago. so if anyone has a legacy responsibility for what is happening in latin america and if anyone is ultimately responsible for latin american immigrants moving north, it is not the united states, it's spain. maybe the spanish government could start by sending back the gold sitting in that central bank. where do you think that came from, el salvador might appreciate that. but roberta jacobson is not suggesting that has never occurred to her because the point is not to help the united states. in fact, the point is to punish the united states. an official in washington agrees with that. a surge of desperate, illegal immigrants is what you get when you vote for the other party. that is the message. they are telling us the last president is responsible for all you are seeing right now. it is a pretty remarkable claim if you think about it, given the last president was elected president because everyone else in washington somehow thought it was racist to have international borders. and he had to they are saying it because they have no shame and they are convinced they are stupid. here it is. >> what the administration has inherited is a broken system at the border. >> the 11 year high for crossings without documentation of the border was in the middle of trump's presidency. this idea that it is joe biden's election that has prompted more people to show up is belied by the actual facts. >> joe biden inherited a huge mess on immigration. >> what we are seeing today is a consequence of four years of dismantling every system in place to address this way of humanity and compassion. >> tucker: it is hard to believe you are hearing that. so let's repeat it slowly so you can get every word. what we are seeing today, the border crisis, is the consequence of four years of dismantling every system in place to address this with humanity and compassion. that was congresswoman veronica escobar of texas. so she is telling you the last administration is just too liberal in its border policy, those open border trump people. we are always warning us about that. that is why two months into a democratic administration holding facilities for illegal children is 700% capacity in her state. donald trump did that! please keep talking congresswoman and tell us how that all works. lecture us some more about humanity and compassion. these people. you've got to wonder if they think a single human being believes anything they say. they probably don't care. they certainly don't care about the country they are supposed to be in charge of. that is the one obvious thing. they have given up trying to pretend they are anyway making life better for american citizens. it is easier to yell at americans about making life better for the rest of the world. that is the appeal of it, it shifts the attention and alexandria ocasio-cortez can sound like a hero after offering free health care to the people of el salvador, someone who has never had a job giving away other people's money. and alexandria ocasio-cortez doesn't have to worry about the americans who live in queens, the people she is supposed to be if hired to represent and help. and who is she not worrying about though? ever been to her congressional districts? detroit, oakland, gary, indiana? these are the actual places that democrats run, the places they are supposed to be improving. but those places have not improved, not in 50 years. they have become much worse. the people do not pause to reflect on what they have done much less apologize for it. they move on. they headed to afghanistan, libya, syria or now el salvador. we hope the good people of central america are ready for the democratic party's version of humanity and compassion. they might want to take a quick field trip to baltimore to see how it works out in the end. in 2018, the city of baltimore a higher murder rate than the city of el salvador or for that matter honduras, guatemala, or afghanistan even. no one thought to call fema to help the people of baltimore. somebody should have. no one from baltimore offered asylum in el salvador. by the way, if they are, they should strongly consider excepting because much safer to live with ms-13 then baltimore. you would be far safer to go to honduras. in 2018, 30 of the 298 municipalities undressed reported no murders at all. same and guatemalan. in el salvador, zero murders. that is a massive improvement over so many other cities. so here's an idea. if you are telling us that parts of central america are so dangerous that crime constitutes humanitarian crisis, that is exactly what the biden administration is claiming, then why not move the people of el salvador, honduras or guatemala to safer parts of their own countries? has that occurred to any of the professional compassion merchants in the biden administration? apparently, it hasn't. instead in a cruel twist, they are encouraging every young and ambitious person in el salvador to leave the country and head north to wash dishes and do our laundry. how is that a compassionate program? how is that not exploiting the people of central america? how is it good for el salvador? it's not. it is something mckinsey and company thought of, it grotesque. into solving of national crisis, they are as usual making it much worse. the message the biden administration has sent to el salvador and the countries around it could not be clear. the border is gone, we have a raised it, come join us. the people in the region have heard that message. >> they don't have a plan at the moment to get this under control and you know the white house is dispatching officials to the border to feed the situation firsthand, families with young children, they do feel like this is a moment where they can get into the united states. they do feel like there will be a more receptive policy from the biden administration. this is the challenge that the white house have. if they don't think their policy is a open invitation they have to signal that more clearly because that is obviously not the way it is being interpreted. >> tucker: so if the question is, is the biden administration encouraging the crisis at the border, hhhmmmm, let's see, there are honduran migrants on camera saying joe biden is going to help all of us so, yes, they are encouraging it. they are doing it on purpose. why are they doing it on purpose? here is one clue. this week the democratic-controlled house of representatives set to vote on two separate bills that would grant citizenship and legal status to at least 4 million illegal aliens in the united states. one of those bills is called the farm work force modernization act and it grants amnesty to roughly a million immigrants. the only criterion, if they can prove they worked in agriculture for 180 days over the past two years. 180 days, that is all it takes. that is all american citizenship is worth at this point, apparently. so it is starting to make sense why joe biden suspended all those deportations. 180 days is all it takes and the clock is running. but don't say that out loud in washington, and the watchword is plausible deniability. of course, you are to report as many new citizens as you can in the united states to replace the disobedient ones that did not vote for us. come on, now, that is insane! conspiracy theory the street from qanon. to prove it it's not true at all, not even a little bit, the dhs secretary has warned all potentially illegal immigrants to stay far away from our southern border or else! or else what exactly? or else the dhs secretary could be mildly unhappy with them. miffed at the very least. he's that kind of ruthless border protector. >> all i can do is communicate both to the american public and to the individuals seeking protection. they need to wait. we are not saying don't come. we are saying don't come now. we will be able to deliver safe and orderly process to them as quickly as possible. >> tucker: oh, so actually, we are not saying don't come. we are saying don't come now. don't come now. come next week. we can give you more stuff. jaeson jones is a retired security closed and has been watching the situation deteriorate badly as it never has before and watching for weeks he joins us tonight. jaeson, thank you so much for coming on. how would you assess after having spent a life in this business securing the border of what you are seeing now along the new mexico border? >> it is great to be with you, tucker. thank you for having me. it is interesting. we are here in roma, texas in star county which lies between mcallen, texas and laredo. behind me is an embattled area between two cartels and really one of the most violent on the southwest border and just to put things in perspective with the amount of immigration being seen in rio grande valley sector in the last seven days where we are, cbp has apprehended over 12,000 people. last night starting around 8:00 p.m., we started to see that and actually be getting behind me. this is an island known as salinas crossing where specifically uses certain independent groups to smuggle people into the u.s. and we document over 200 people last night. >> tucker: so you just reminded us that we are not watching simply economic migration. there is a war on going in the country right to the south which the media ignores because it is considered impolite to mention it. but how does that not increase the risk to the united states when you have people coming from a war zone? >> it is a great point. it is something i think that has not been discussed. one of the things we consistently do is talk about the immigration layer. i say that to you because under what is happening at the southwest border, immigration is one layer of clients coming into our country. when you look at how the smugglers treat people as a commodity, it is a humbling, humbling thing. we watched a lot of young children last night, and i tell you, i've seen a lot of them down here over the years. but it is always heart-wrenching. but underneath that layer and what i would ask all americans to think about, when you see these pictures of these families, know each child, parent, individual is charged by the cartel. if a mexican citizen $2500 just to cross the river. never mind how far into the united states you go. if central america and right here in this area, $3,000. if chinese, $5,000 and if russian or middle eastern, $9,000. so what is portrayed as just immigration issue is perpetrating violence in mexico. what has been happening behind me for the last year and a half is war as the cartels will tell you between cartel el chapo. >> tucker: really one of the saddest stories. and one of the misreported stories. thank you, jaeson, to make clear what is happening, thank you. >> thank you for having me. >> tucker: as we told you a minute ago, we were are in el salvador for the original series on ms-13, and you can see it next month on fox nation. we can show you a separate interview that the president of el salvador who makes the often not made point that this kind of immigration hurts every country involved. countries from which the immigrants are fleeing and to which they are going. everyone hurts. that interview just ahead. ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ >> tucker: we just finished up a long and legitimately interesting conversation with the president of el salvador, nayib bukele and we talked about the immigration crisis from his perspective which of course is different from our perspective but the surprise was, his perspective isn't that different. as he pointed out again and again in the conversation, the mass movement of poor, desperate people north in search of a better life isn't good for anyone. it hurts all countries involved, including his. watch this. mr. president thank you for joining us. >> president bukele: thank you, tucker for inviting me. >> tucker: there are estimated 2 million el salvador's in the united states. >> president bukele: may be more. >> tucker: may be more and more coming now. why do you think so many people all have moved from the country to the u.s.? >> president bukele: of course. it is an incentive. everything in life is pros and cons, right? >> tucker: yes. >> president bukele: so immigration, concretely you don't know the language where the journey is a difficult one and you may die and the journey. but in the end, you receive a lot, of course, the pros go up in the cons go down. it depends, it's an incentive game, here. so for example, here in el salvador we have better jobs and better security, it makes less incentive. you can see in the numbers. we haven't changed the country 180 degrees and nine months in government, of course but if you see the number two years ago when you see the numbers now. immigration from the south has gone down. for a couple of reasons, but one of the reasons, we've improved security by 75%. i mean, go down 75% in violent crimes 35%. and economical opportunities are better than what they were two years ago. and there's a little bit more hope that it will be better. so that lowers the numbers and that is why you have 10,000 people going from honduras and then going up in el salvador. but two years el salvador was bigger with immigration. so you have incentives and drivers here, like i told you before, economical act stomach opportunities and security. but what do you find at the border? >> president bukele: i'm not offended but i think for a country that is not profitable, first, it is immoral and what you need to provide for your people. >> tucker: yes. >> president bukele: it is an moral issue but it's an economic issue. if you send your hardworking people and your talented people and people that want to work and risk it just to go to work, you want to keep them here because those will be the drivers of the economy, you don't want them there so they can give a small portion of what they will learn and produce. you want them to produce here. we're talking about problems that have been there not just in el salvador, but a lot of countries in latin america for the last four decades. in this immigration thing is just beating on dependency, on an immigration, it's not for the united states and its not good for el salvador. at the best thing for the both of us is to keep our people here and provide for our people right here in our country. that is what people here want. >> tucker: yes. >> president bukele: in the end, of course i won't resent it, but i think it is better to keep our people here. that's our job, and morally that's the thing we have to do. >> tucker: explain quickly if you would, you said it is not good for the united states to become dependent on immigration. what do you mean by that? >> president bukele: no, no, latin american countries. if people provide for you and your economic up to 90s, your economy is doing bad, if your security is doing bad, people are going to leave. they're going to go and try and find and leave for guatemala -- they're going to go to the united states. that makes this country dependent on immigration because you become an exporter people. you're not exporting products, you are exporting people. so that makes your economy dependent on that because those people send money back to the home country which is not a good economic formula. it makes the economy dependent on that. so when you keep this country depending on that, the economy is like a vicious cycle. so what is bad for the united states because immigration will go up. it is bad for our country because people leaving the country will go up as well. so what is bad for both of us. >> tucker: smart. thank you. >> president bukele: thank you. >> tucker: conversation went on and on and turned to ms-13. we're going to imprison tomorrow to interview ms-13 members here in el salvador. you will see the whole thing on fox nation as part of the original series soon, probably next month. well, meanwhile in washington, our leaders have the border to worry about, but they are more things going on. if they have a major breakthrough in the cold case of supreme court justice brett kavanaugh and his potential high school girlfriend, christine blass and 40. a certain senator from rho island is on the case, will be happy to let you know right after the break. he's going to ♪ if i could be you and you could be me ♪ ♪ for just one hour ♪ ♪ if we could find a way to get inside each other's mind ♪ ♪ walk a mile in my shoes ♪ ♪ walk a mile in my shoes ♪ ♪ well before you abuse, criticize and accuse ♪ ♪ walk a mile in my shoes ♪ ♪ ♪ >> tucker: 40 years ago, senator sheldon whitehouse was famous in charlottesville, virginia, as the single dimmest member of the law school class. we don't mean that to sound mean but it is true. it is verifiable. ask anyone went to school with him. sheldon whitehouse, how did he get in here everyone asks?
