shoulders, the small of my back, my waist. often enough by late 2014 i didn't want to go to the holiday party he was hosting for the albany press corps at the executive mansion." >> john: some top democrats are joining the list of the lawmakers demanding cuomo's resignation including house judiciary chairman jerry nadler among several prominent new york lawmakers issued statements saying that the time has come. >> sandra: yeah. yet still silence from vice president kamala harris on this. she has not joined those calls by fellow democrats for him to resign. nor have we heard from senators gillibrand or elizabeth warren, all three of whom were vocal in opposition of brett kavanaugh in the confirmation hearing. all of this is after the governor's own lawyer reported a groping allegation to the police. the woman involved has so far declined to press charges herself. cuomo has continued to deny the allegations, john. >> john: sandra, the cover of the "new york post" stating it all. "cuomo must go." brian is live in new york. you are doing double duty today. welcome back to the big screen. what is the latest in the last few minutes? >> look, the majority of the new york congressional delegation by the last count changing by the minute 17 out of 29 new york federal lawmakers are now calling on governor andrew cuomo to resign. the graphic we have on the screen here is at least 11 of them. like i said, the number increasing by the moment. representatives alexandria ocasio-cortez, and bowman, who are particularly zeroing in on the sixth accuser who alleges that the governor aggressively groped her late last year at the executive mansion. they are calling on the governor to resign writing in part that the fact that the latest report was so recent is alarming. it raises concerns about the present safety and well-being of the administration staff. governor cuomo can no longer effectively lead in the face of so many challenges. new york's representative jerry nadler who is chairman of the house judiciary committee writing in part, "the question before us is squarely a political judgment. governor cuomo lost the confidence of the people of new york. governor cuomo must resign." the majority of the new york state lawmakers more than 120 are calling for cuomo's resignation or impeachment. yesterday, the state assembly launched an impeachment investigation in to cuomo. some state senators are suggesting that governor kathy hochul could govern now at least until the attorney general letitia james finishes her investigation. for the sixth accuseer that is alleging that cuomo groped her, you talked about this, the albany police department tells us a criminal complaint has not been filed. cuomo's office says the accuser did not want to to file a complaint but they reported the incident to the police. we are following that as this is changing by the moment. teleconference to come at any moment. guys? >> john: apparently he started speaking in the teleconference. we had information going in to it that it was going to be a covid briefing. apparently he is talking about vaccines right now. we are right back where we were a few weeks ago when the allegation first hit. we thought will he resign? i expect we are not expecting a resignation if he is starting off the briefing talking about the vaccines. >> i would not expect a resignation today via the teleconference. this is par for course throughout the scandals. he will talk about covid and asked about the scandals. he will take a few questions. then we'll see. he has repeated over and over and over again he will not resign. i don't see any proof here that is going to change. >> sandra: brian, i want to make clear while cuomo has begun speaking he is only touched on to your point vaccines. the last time he said this, he has touted that there will be an announcement. so we are listening for that and we will go to that when it happens. so far, the silence we have heard on behalf of the vice president kamala harris, elizabeth warren and gillibrand, three women vocal in opposition on confirmation of brett kavanaugh. so far jen psaki was asked to respond in briefing room to what we are learning about more allegations against the governor. her response was one we have heard before. that the president believes every woman coming forward deserves to have a voice heard. referencing the independent investigation. he certainly supports that going forward. but still no update on where kamala harris and she everyone ignored a question on this yesterday. brian? >> sandra, look, to the point where you believe that the executives should be commenting on the matter of new york or any other state, that is your opinion. this is the first female vice president. some would suggest given their history and her position maybe she should come out to directly address this. at the end of the day, what is important about what changed is we are now hearing from the congressional lawmakers. a.o.c. and nadler and other representatives call for the resignation, yet schumer and gilibrand have not gone that far and there is pressure on them now to say they believe if he should resign. they stuck to the line and the white house stuck with it as well they will follow this investigation. they want to wait until the attorney general releases the findings before casting judgment. it seems like that is a less tenable situation given the pressure we are seeing now from congress. >> sandra: bryan, you continue to report on this for us. stand by. we await more news as the hour rolls on. thank you. john? >> john: bring in the former white house speech writer and fox news contributor. there are 120 new york state lawmakers, mark, calling for the impeachment or resignation. now powerful democrats like jerry nadler, chairman of the house judiciary committee, maloney and the chairwoman of the house government oversight reform committee and popular congresswoman in alexandria ocasio-cortez and others who are saying that time to go. how much longer can you resist pressure like that? >> yeah. well, you know, cuomo doesn't really care much about alexandria ocasio-cortez. just like he doesn't care about bill de blasio and he doesn't care about nadler. what he does care about is whether there are enough votes in the state assembly to impeach him and the votes in the senate to convict him. he won't resign until he knows that there are. he won't resign out of shame, he won't resign because the other democrats who have no power over him are calling for the resignation. he is only going to resign when he counts the votes and he sees he has no chance of staying in power. otherwisewe would ride it out. for the hypocrisy of the democrats. and sandra mentioned the people who haven't said a word about this. keep in mind the democratic party at the democratic national convention had bill clinton as a featured speaker. even in the #metoo era, he is still not present non grata. this is the clinton hypocrisy. where is hillary clinton calling him out? she is never shy about talking about donald trump. there are a lot of people who are staying silent and who ought to speak out. >> john: apparently cuomo is addressing this in the teleconference. go to this now. >> i can tell you as a former attorney general who has gone through this situation many times, there are often many motivations for making an allegation. and that is why you need to know the facts before you make a decision. there are now two reviews underway. no one wants them to happen more quickly and more thoroughly than i do. let them do it. i'm not going to argue the issue in the press. that is not how it is done. that is not the way it should be done. serious allegations should be weighed seriously. right? that is why they are called "serious." as i told new yorkers many times, there are facts and then there are opinions. i have always separated the two. when i do briefings, i put out the facts. and then i offer my opinions. but they are two different concepts. politicians who don't know a single fact but yet form a conclusion and an opinion are in my opinion reckless and dangerous. the people of new york should not have confidence in a politician who takes a position without knowing any facts or substance. that, my friends, is politics at its worst. politicians take positions for all sorts of reasons. including political expediency and bowing to pressure. but people know the difference between playing politics, bowing to the counter culture and the truth. people know the difference between playing politics, bowing to cancel culture and the truth. let the review proceed. i was not going to resign. i was not elected by the politicians. i was elected by the people. part of this is that i am not part of the political club. and you know what? i'm proud of it. this is all that i'm going to say on this topic at this time. i made a promise to the people of the state. i have a job to do. i have been doing it for 11 years. this is probably the most critical time the state's history. everything that i have learned, the federal government, as attorney general, as governor, i am bringing to the table at this moment. we have a budget due in two weeks for a state in fiscal crisis. it will be the most difficult budget we have done. we have to perform 15 million vaccinations. and we have to be ready on may 1 for eligibility for the entire state. never been done before. then we have to rebuild our state from the bottom up. because we have serious issues across the state. especially in new york city. that is my job. that is why i was elected. that is what i am supposed to do. that is exactly what i'm going to focus on. for the people of the state, look, they have known me for 40 years. they elected me attorney general. they elected me governor three times. i have been in the public eye my entire life. my entire life i have been under public scrutiny since i was 23 years old. and ran my father's campaign. new yorkers know me. wait for the facts. wait for the facts. then you can have an opinion. i am confident that when new yorkers know the facts from the review, i am confident in the decision based on the facts. but wait for the facts. an opinion without facts is irresponsible. i'm going to focus on my job because we have real challenges. and people who say avoid distractions. i'm going to avoid distractions. i'm going to focus on my job. i have to get a budget done. i have to get vaccinations done. i have to rebuild the state. and i'm going to cooperate and wait for the reviews so we actually have the facts. and then we can have an intelligent conversation. questions, operator? >> yes, sir. as a reminder, to ask a question you need to press star 1 to your telephone. your first question is from wnbc tv. line is open. >> governor, good afternoon. i have two questions for you. the first question is you say that an opinion without facts is irresponsible. some of the lawmakers who called for your resignation today include congressman jerry nadler, congresswoman maloney and grace may. are you saying they are irresponsible? my second question you said repeatedly you never touched anyone inappropriately. is there misunderstanding where there in your mind was consensual touching taking place in one or more allegations? >> yeah. two things. look, i respect any elected official's right to take a position on anything. but as i said, my way is know the facts before you have an opinion. oh, this is a serious allegation. well, then you should take it seriously, right? to take it seriously means you need the facts before you come to a conclusion. how do you come to a conclusion before you know the facts? well, this person alleged this. i was attorney general, andrew. a lot of people allege a lot of things for a lot of reasons. you never heard me as attorney general go out and talk about an allegation until we were confident that there was a basis and we reviewed the facts. any politician can take any position on any given day. that is their right. do i think it is responsible to take a position on a serious allegation before you know any facts? no. i don't think it's responsible. on your point, on your second point, look, it's very simple. i never harassed anyone. i never abused anyone. i never assaulted anyone. now -- i never would. right? now, is it possible that i have taken a picture with a person who after the fact says they were uncomfortable with the pose in the picture? yes. and that is what you are hearing about. now, i have taken thousands of pictures. i never meant to make anyone feel uncomfortable. i never meant to make anyone feel awkward? there are times when i go to take a picture with a person and i can feel that they are standoffish or something and i respect that. i never took a picture with a person who said, "i'm uncomfortable" and did it any way. yes, i apologized for people who i have taken pictures with and who after the fact said they were uncomfortable with that picture. next question, operator. >> yes, sir. the next question from morgan mckay of spectrum news. your line is open. >> hello, governor. can you hear me? >> yes, i can, morgan. >> thank you. so, governor, at this point many democratic lawmakers, those in your party have lost faith in your ability to lead. at what point would you step down? if an impeachment investigation were to begin, would you resign? also, what is your current opinion on the launch of the impeachment investigation by the assembly judiciary committee? third question for you, why did your administration edit a health report regarding the nursing home statistics after it had been submitted by health officials? why did your administration feel like you knew more than the health officials? thank you. >> okay. first, morgan, my point is let's get the review. then let's get the facts. and then new yorkers can make a decision once they have facts. you don't have facts now. you have allegations. well, why don't i debate it in the press? no, that is not the way things are done. the assembly and the attorney general, that is the right way to do it. review, get the facts, tell the facts to the people of the state and then we take it from there. on the review, i will ask beth to respond but you should know it's commonplace where an agency works on a report with the chamber. that is the common operating procedure. not that an agency does a report and puts out and then we read about it in the press. because there are a lot of -- in the chamber, you have a variety of expertise. so that happens, that is the normal operating protocol. but let me ask beth about the health department. >> yes, morgan, we can send you our prior comments on this matter. the report was done in collaboration with the department of health. so we can refer you back to those comments. >> next question, operator. >> yes, sir. the next question is from david evans of abc channel 7. your line is open. >> hey, governor. can you hear me? >> yes, sir, dave. >> governor, i wanted to ask along the same line of question that andrew asked a second ago. forgive me for being a little blunt. a question that a lot of us have was there consensual romantic relationship with any of the women that you understood? >> yeah, look -- >> i'm not talking -- >> go ahead. dave, my statement could not be clearer, i think. i never harassed anyone. i never assaulted anyone. i never abused anyone. to the extent you get the people who say well, he took a picture with me and i was uncomfortable, i apologized for that. and i'm sure, you know, i took thousands of pictures. i'm sure you can do this all day long. when we talk these pictures we take them in public, dave. there is a photographer there. it's not like they are done in secret. they literally are being photographed. i mean, i am in crowds of hundreds of people when we are taking the pictures. they stand on receiving lines for a long time to take the picture. but what is being alleged simply did not happen. that is why you have to wait to get the facts. i'm not going to do it in the press. it's not the way it should be done. it doesn't respect anybody's rights. next question, operator. >> your next question is from julia pappas of 1010 radio. your line is open. >> good afternoon, governor. i was wondering how you think you can effectively lead amidst the allegations and the calls for your resignation and these growing investigations? >> i have to get a budget done with the legislature in two weeks. they are doing an investigation. that is fine. we'll cooperate with the investigation. in the meantime, we going to negotiate a budget. in the mean time, i have to do millions of vaccines. this is not the first time that we have had to walk and chew gum here, right? we had to fight covid for a year. and we had to keep the state running. i've even gone through situations in my administration where we had terrible emergencies and floods and disasters and we had to take care of that. and we had to do everything else at the same time. i had to fight donald trump for four years every day. and run the state. i have had investigations before in the state that went on for years. by federal prosecutors. and continued to operate the state. so, you know, the assembly has their job to do. they handed it off to a committee. they are doing that job. fine. we now have two weeks to do the budget. i have to do the vaccine. this is how government works. you handle multiple issues at the same time. i don't think there is a person in a better position to help the state get through this period than the experience that i bring to it. this is not going to be an easy budget to do. i'm telling you that right now. this is not going to be easy to get the vaccinations done. i'm telling you right now. so, i think i can be of tremendous help. i'm focused on my job. the assembly is focused on their job. and the senate is focused on their job. so, i'm confident that if everybody does their job, we'll make, we'll do the best we can. now the budget is hard. the budget is hard to get done on time every year. right? this is probably the hardest budget we have ever done. this is probably also the most polarized political climate that we have. you have different theories in the democratic party right now. you have seen it at play nationally. you have seen it at play here. that is one of the factors that is going on. right? no situation happens in a vaccine. this is a political environment we're operating on. politics is part of all of this. but i will focus on my job. in the meantime, i want to make it clear what is alleged just did not happen. the last allegation is not true. i have not had a sexual relationship that was inappropriate period. okay. thank you, all, very much. thank you. bye. >> john: governor andrew cuomo of new york there still standing defiant saying, "i did not do what has been alleged, period." he said, "let the review proceed. i am not going to resign." he said a lot of other things, too. >> sandra: he said there are many motivations for allegations. he also went on to say politicians blaming me are reckless. he was then asked about that. the reporter named names. jerry nadler, prominent democrat, carolyn maloney, a.o.c. and others. so then are they reckless? to which he did not answer. he was asked multiple times that was interesting, john, from the reporters whether or not any of these were consensual relationships, if he was not sexual assaulting or there was no misconduct involved. he went on to say he never harassed, never asalted, never abused any of the women. last question was how can you lead with all of this now that a seventh accuser has come forward. emily campagno is standing by and you joined us the last time he held a news conference of this nature. he is not resigning. i want to put on the screen the words of the now 7th accuseer that has come forward to "new york magazine" and what
