Maria, i came on your show in november and it was fortunate that politicians used the pandemic that was for fraud and shouldnt be part of the Election System because they would bring the question, the integrity of every election and now what you see with hr1 and with President Bidens Executive Order is theyre making those pandemic voting rules permanent. No voter verification at all, voting day, election day turns into election month and the worst part of It Ballot Harvesting where any person can go door to door and collect ballots and be trusted even if theyre political activists to turn those in to be counted accurately. Essentially, maria, hr1 legalizes cheating. I dont think that the comments that you had from Leader Mccarthy were hyperbolic at all. Hr1 will bring integrity of every election Going Forward. My hope is they will take issues like Ballot Harvesting under hr1. Even if your state says its illegal, this overrules it. I would hope the Supreme Court strikes that down but until that happen what we see really here is the result of where you say elections have consequences. This is what socialism looks like where the rules get changed to help the party in power and they come up with, you know, catchy slogans like for the people when, in fact, theyre trying to fix a problem that didnt exist. All the complaints that you heard about the election in 2020, the complaint that no one said was too difficult to vote and yet what nancy pelosi and President Biden say we have to remove obstacles from people voting when, in fact, that was not a problem. Maria one could argue that there was fraud in 2016 given the fact that there was this massive narrative that trump colluded with russia. Was there voter fraud in 16. Was there voter fraud in 2020 . You saw censorship from the media in 2020 as well with them twitter and facebook hiding the the hunter biden story with regard to the deals he had with Companies Overseas like china. John yeah, i mean, theres theres a degree of of voter fraud or Election Fraud that occurs and has occurred for years but what weve always tried to do is Work Together in a bipartisan fashion to make sure that Election Integrity is withheld regardless of who is in power because that can change in this country and unfortunately what you see here is because the democrats control everything, the white house, the senate and the house, that theyre going to force this not just on the republicans but on the American People and these are changes that really go to the fabric of how americans have always voted. We shouldnt have to wait 3 weeks after election to find out who won and these are the kinds of things that that are being implemented through hr1 and essentially not to go hyperbolic but essentially does legalize cheating in elections. Maria so there was cheating in 2020 then . Was 2020 fair . John well, i think we implemented rules in the pandemic and what we saw, you know, even just weeks before the election where Voting Procedures were changed and i dont think that was fair. I think that was i think that contributed to the ability for fraud to be perpetuated in any number of ways and the most important thing, maria, when we talk about Election Integrity is that the American People believe that there is Election Integrity and hr1 really just double down on the concern that americans have right now that elections arent fair and that theyre being controlled and that the outcome of one person one vote isnt what we are seeing. Again, thats what happened in socialist countries and now what we are seeing when you put democratic socialists in charge, thats what the agenda is. They are going to try and lock in the gains that theyve made so republicans dont have a voice here and we are essentially one party system Going Forward and i dont think theres a more important issue that we could be addressing than this. Maria this is just extraordinary. Obviously it worked out so well for them, the democrats, in 2020, they want to make it a mainstay despite the fact that its unconstitutional, the states are supposed to be in charge of their elections, not the election being federalized. So thats another point to make with hr1, but i want to get your take on the border as well. You are there in texas and you have seen things up close and personal in terms of the number of migrants showing up at the border, the drug cartels shaking them down. Its a dangerous situation. We have been talking about it very much on this program. Your reaction to what we have seen at the border and President Bidens Executive Orders in that regard. Well, its pretty simple, whether you call it a crisis or a challenge at the border i know that the Biden Administration wants to argue about that, whatever you want to call it, they own it, they created it. We didnt have a problem four months ago, i can tell you from looking at all of the intelligence, we dont have National Security issue that we have right now. This was a situation where the Biden Administration was so eager to want to declare trump policies cruel at the border that they that they took away policies that were clearly working and they reversed agreements that we had with guatemala, honduras and el salvador and with mexico to stop the traffic in mexicos Southern Border and they invited this crisis, they created this crisis and so i think its important now that they own this crisis. This was totally unnecessary and now its created a National Security issue at our Southern Border that hadnt existed. President trumps policies ended the migrant crisis 2 years ago when he required that mexico stop its traffic at the Southern Border and had agreements in place with what we call the northern triangle countries and what the Biden Administration has done here has jeopardized National Security for the sake of a political narrative that simply wasnt true. And, unfortunately, its a trend that we are seeing where trump policies that were very clearly working both domestically and internationally, the Biden Administration is so eager to want to prove that the Trump Campaign was wrong or took the wrong posture, that theyre jeopardizing our National Security, theyre ignoring our intelligence and they are really putting american superiority at risk. Maria let me share with you what i heard from sources at the border and we took the show at the border in 2019 and ive been in touch with border officials. He told me that local congresswoman Veronica Escobar is telling the Border Patrol management not to work with the oso, office of Field Operations because shes concerned that migrants are going to be fearful to turn themselves in. So now the office of Field Operations is not working hand and glove with the Border Patrol management. She also told them that the office of Field Operations should not be holding any machine guns. She said that migrants are feeling threatened when they drive over the bridge coming from mexico because ofo officers has m4s with them. So now these these officers are not allowed to have their machine guns with them and they are fighting a massive Drug Cartel War that is happening right now. The officers were ordered to be at the top of the bridges without adequate weaponry in case to receive any type of attack from the Cartel Members while theyre out of luck. What is going on . We are putting our own officers in harms way. John i didnt see anything that would justify or warrant the type of measures that you just outlined in the capitol. I think what we have seen is that the intelligence that i did see is that what happened january 6th was terrible. We all agree on that, but we also have learned that it was preventible. There was intelligence, it was not an intelligence failure. It was a situational report out of the fbi, a field office not 3 hours from washington, d. C. That said the day before 24 hours before, that that domestic extremists were intent on going to the capitol, use the phrase creating war, targeting Members Of Congress and maps of the Tunnel System of the capitol and what you heard the fbi director testify this week accurately was that he wasnt made aware of it for some reason and, of course, i was not made aware of it either. And his answer is why he didnt know why the fbi didnt elevate that to him or why Law Enforcement didnt act on it isnt a good answer and frankly, you know, what happened on january 6th was preventible and it was a failure of leadership in our Law Enforcement community and thats really what people should be focused on when we talk about capitol riots. Maria this is such an important point because once again we find the fbi in the middle of it, the broken link at the fbi. The fbi knew about it and did not pass on the information for whatever reason, Christopher Wray says he didnt know about it and we also know what happened with the fbi over the last 4 years, they were impeaching President Trump and at the time fbi sat on news that they had Hunter Bidens laptop and we knew that biden had interactions with ukraine, was getting paid by the ukraine government while all the while impeaching President Trump, no word on the fbi on what they knew about ukraine sitting on the laptop. Of course, we go back to the russia hoax where the fbi was part of setting up trump officials. Youve done so much work on this, john durham is continuing a criminal investigation. Whats going on with the fbi . Has this institution become so politicized they keep letting the American People down . John i think very clearly it was political. We saw that in 2016. You outlined some of those things, maria. Theyve been commented on. The inspector general, independent arbiter for the Justice Department, found out he had lied, fbi lawyer lied to fisa court to perpetuate for Trump Campaign. Theyll be another scathing recounting of abuses of power at the fbi and i say that because i reviewed the intelligence with John Durham And bill barr and we all unanimously agreed there was no intelligence from the Intelligence Community that reflected actual real russian collusion with the Trump Campaign and there was intelligence created by the Hillary Clinton campaign and that there was no proper predicate for crossfire hurricane to begin. So i really do expect that the Durham Report will talk about abuse of power because i know the intelligence and i know it hasnt changed. Hopefully this is information that the American People need to know before and i think this report should have come out before the election and at this point i do think its important for people who have faith in the fbi as an institution for there to be accountability and hopefully the Durham Report will bring that. The russia case was falling about and the media was taking a different narrative and they were worried that the disconnect might get public if people started asking tougher questions. So they are suggesting stories, a good news story about bu to remind people that we are still the good guys trying to keep america safe and not political operatives who sway elections. Thats exactly who they were, political operatives trying to sway elections. They did influence election. They did influence the first 3 years of Trump Presidency but sustaining investigation and in the absence of any evidence of wrongdoing and the significant face of evidence that showed innocence, its a remarkable thing. I got a chance to interview the former intelligence chief of the fbi kevin brock, really respected across the political aisle and all the things hes looked at in the last year, the only explanation that he can give why the fbi continue today sustain the investigation when all the Red Blinking Lights had shut it down was political bias. What can you tell us in terms of where we are with the John Durham Criminal Investigation and has there been a break in the case . John there has, yes. Its a very active criminal case. A lot of witnesses, a lot of negotiation with lawyers. The big news is that a former member of the comeymccabe inner circle, i dont know which one yet, one of them has begun cooperating and thats opened up a tremendous amount of internal knowledge being able to describe the nuances of evidence, very big breakthrough for john durham. Maria so what about that. We heard John Ratcliffe on the show earlier. Look, i met with John Durham A year ago, with bill barr as well and we all agreed together that there was absolutely no reason to start an invest of collusion into trumps people. There was no predicate. John thats true. Many experts who have looked at it have come to a conclusion after they read the documents. You open a false investigation with false evidence, does that amount to a crime, thats the question that john durham is trying to answer. Maria would there be jail time, are we going to see indictments . Its been 5 years since the story line was first leaked out. Some of the witnesses that ive talked to and their Defense Lawyers feel like john durham is getting ready to pull trigger on criminal charges.
