what do they do? they fight dirty. they have to, to win. they are trying to gaslight us on racial issues. a divergence. and a good one. instead of having an honest conversation about the kitchen table issues that matter to all americans they would rather scream the lives through the megaphone and divide us all. >> many of the republicans talking coded racial language and the takers and the losers. they demonize president obama and they encourage the ugliest impulses of paranoid fringe. >> let the big banks once again write their own rules. unchain wall street. they will put you back in chains. >> they are in favor of affirmative action if you can dunk the basketball or sink a three-point shot. but they are not in favor if you have the potential to be a leader in your community. >> it works so well. at least one person made an entire career out of it. >> these day what is they have in common, they have the structures that say the black and brown lives matter less. so all that matters is the black and the brown people get their behind in factory to get make stuff, do my nails. work. get back to work now that i, the comfort, affluent person needs. >> "the hunger games" would be more humane. at least then you have a fighting chance. they are just going to starve people. it seemed ironic that the party of family values supposedly say you starve, auntie and uncle starve and my wife and my start son get to eat and get the vaccine. >> you see joy reid does it for a living. it's what they pay her to do. yesterday she casually tweeted this. "people on the right would take all the tax cut for ability to openly say the n-word like in the good old days." i don't want to spend a lot time on joy. it's not like she has a lot of credibility. she is free to say whatever she wants. if anyone gives her a problem, she can say her twitter was hacked again. the real danger here is not the messenger. it's the message. her bad faith arguments worked for decades and it will continue to win over black communities because there is a void where the conservatives and their arguments should be. you can see that void in george where the black vote single handedly flipped the state blue. if the republicans ever want to win it back, they have to act right now. the republican party made gains under donald trump but that because of the man, not the party as a whole. the g.o.p. has a chance to expand the tent and make inroads with authorities. but the question is how? it's not enough to say that the democrats failed us. the black community knows that better than anyone. the problem is whop is our alternative? i have a blueprint for the conservatives to win the hearts and minds of the black communities. it starts with the three "e"s to help win the argument. number one, economics. it's true that former president trump delivered record-breaking numbers for black america. unemployment at a record low before the pandemic. now it's in shambles. covid crushed minority groups and keeping the economy closed only continues to hurt them more. think about this. the number of the black-owned small businesses declined by 41% from the start of the pandemic. compared to january 2020, black unemployment is up 50%. be the party to reopen america and take credit for it. expand the pro business agenda in the community. double down on the opportunity zones and keep pushing for the economic development and the urban areas. what good is that if the local communities have liberal policies that crush the small businesses? all politics is local. sobering to fight at city hall. number two, education. on tuesday we showed you how devastating the pandemic has been on our children's education. democrats made it clear whose side they are on. it's not your kids. you know that. they don't believe the science. they believe in the teachers union. the only way to fight back is through the school choice. me personally, i benefit from something called choice of schools in garland, texas. my life is better because a federal judge ordered that every school in my district be open to any kid who wanted to attend. now black kids no longer have to go to failing schools just because they live in bad areas. as a result, every school in my district got better because introducing choice created competition. it's very simple. republicans need to be the leaders on school choice. push for expanding charter school in the private school. allow kids in bad public schools to attend better ones outside the zip code. remind black and brown parents every day that the teachers union monopoly never had their best interest or their kid's. expand our freedoms. we have got to. you can't build a modern day wall street without removing the red tape. make it easier for the black and the brown communities to start small businesses. for the love of god, back regulations. you have to. remove them. did you know that you can't even braid hair without a license in some states? if you do, you will get fined. that used to be the case in texas until the state legislature changed the rules an other states should follow suit. what about gun laws? is unstead of locking young black men up for the firearm possessions, we should ellumnate unconstitutional gun laws. we should encourage gun ownership and gun safety classes so black people can properly protect their own neighborhoods. when it comes to justice, you have to be consistent on the issue. if the state abuses their power we must hold them accountable. if a bad cop kills somebody on duty, take the case seriously. justice must always be applied fairly and evenly. we believe life is precious. we believe in due process, too. and despite what the media will have you believe, we support good cops. but the most important thing is this. you've got to show up. come to where we live and spread the gospel of freedom. show us there is a better way. some may dismiss the conservative message at first but if we say it often enough, people will listen. they already are. once they start listening the war of ideas will be won. just watch. joining me now is tammy bruce, president of the independent women's voice and fox news contributor. sonny john zonks radio talk show host of siriusxm patriot. i want to go to you first, tammy. you used to be a liberal in the day and a democrat. >> oh, yeah. >> you know the tactics of the left. so this is nothing new to you. tell us about it. >> yeah, it's not. great work this week. it's great to be on with you tonight. >> thank you. >> thank you for having me. you are right, in your monologue. when i was on the left, effectively a community organizer for the leftist feminist movement, there was never a conversation, lawrence, about the individuals, about improving people's lives. it was about fundraising and influencing a politician and getting attention. it was never about how to elevate people. of course, you see that in the fact that no one has been elevated. you can see that in the continuing decline of the inner city. of the democrats so-called leadership. you are right. everyone in the area that is affected, any state or any city or any part of a town that is affected and controlled by democrats knows that it's failed leadership. the media protects them. so it takes a while perhaps to figure out exactly what is going on. they blame everyone else. but the fact is my first book called "the new thought police" outlined how racism, sexism and homophobia are rooted in the left. this is why there is never really an effort to elevate people because they resent the individual, they don't trust the individual. that is why collective action is important because they don't believe the individual is valuable. and that is, of course, why they are liberals. the conservative ideal requires trusting in the value and the power of the individual. regardless of skin color and how we grew up and where we grew up. >> so let's talk about this. sonny, we can talk about the left strategy all day. we know what they should. so we should be prepared for it. you had an interesting panel at cpac. you talked about what the conservative movement was not doing and what they need to do. tell the audience what they need to do. >> for one thing, it's really good to talk about the idea of the individual in like open context. when the individual actually has a face, like ahmaud arbery, it's very, very, you know, apropos for the right to forget he is an individual. to look at him and judge the individual case as an individual. so, while the thing, the people that guard the left are not the media. it's the right. as soon as black america begins to complain about the problems in their area, which are mostly local problems, like 90% of all the complains are local issues. the moment that black people start to speak out about those issues it's republicans and the conservatives that run in and say it's not a real problem. it's imaginary. it doesn't exist. so instead of offering a true conservative alternative to the problem that is being presented, it's brushed off and whisked away like it's our imagination. then they turn around to say democrats, democrats, democrats. well, yes, who do you think we are complaining about? these are the people that run these places 365 days of the year. they do not show up every four years. they govern these areas. so when we are complaining about local issues, we are complaining about the progressive control in those areas. it would be really nice to have a right, an alternate force to present conservative answers opposed to saying the problems don't exhaust. >> tammy, what about a conservative -- she started in the tea party movement. >> yeah. >> have the republican party failed in providing that message? >> absolutely! that is why donald trump's approach was immediately surprising. it's the 21st century, right? he is saying what have you got to lose? reaching out to the communities. that is why people refer to washington as the "uni-party." it seems as if republicans are fine with what is happening and you see that in their approach for the inner city. >> one question for you. what needs to happen now? go ahead. >> why is -- what do you have to lose adequate political reach out to black america? no. what does america have to gain by having a strong black america? what does america have to gain stopping the slaughter of citizens on street corners and in planned parenthood? what does america have to gain by fixing the right, some of the problems that were inherent in our government throughout the time that have yet to be solved? mostly local level problems. mostly under democratic control for 100 years. you are asking us to get over problems that have not been solved yet. how about we go to fix the problems first to then start having a discussion about growth and the expectation of black america. >> amen to that. thank you so much for joining me. also here with us tonight is josh hawley. senator, thank you for joining me today. passionate conversation about what the democrats are doing but what the republican response needs to take place. so, you are a rising star. you are considered one of the leaders in the new g.o.p. what do you propose? >> senator: how about bringing jobs back to the urban core from overseas? start there. start with the disastrous trade policies and the economic policies that the liberals in-step with the big corporations pursued for 30, 40 years. who is hurt most? working folks. african-american working folks. latino working folks. white working folks. asian working folks. you name it. they are the ones that the communities suffered as the jobs are shipped off to china and shipped overseas to the lower bidder and the lowest wages. the democrats made american worker compete with the slave labor. they have done it to get rich. so the big corporations can get rich. time to bring it back to create opportunity in the urban core, everywhere for the american workers. that is where i would start. >> it starts there. but respectfully the audience already know about that. they watch fox. we discuss this every day. how do you get new people in? i got to tell you. you guys just lost georgia. part of it was because you guy did not attract new voters. so how do you take that message and tell it to the people that you are not reaching? >> senator: we have to be the party of the working people in the nation. look at how trump grew the party in 2016 and 2020. and made it the most racially diverse background, the racially diverse number of the votes that is president, republican president has gotten since 1960. that was trump's record. since 1960. how did he do it?
