The moscato wine, developed in California about seven years ago and popular there, has half the sugar of a traditional moscato and about twice the alcohol — 11 percent by volume as opposed to 6 percent, “a great selling point,” Del Vecchio said. To sweeten the pot, a portion of the company’s proceeds go toward saving the honeybee.
