A former Gloversville police officer is suing the city and its former police chief, Anthony Clay, claiming she was denied the same opportunities as her male colleagues and was forced to resign two years ago after being denied medical leave following a cesarean-section.

The woman, who worked for the Gloversville Police Department from July 2015 to January 2022, claims in an 11-page lawsuit that she was repeatedly denied opportunities to advance her career due to her gender, and endured a hostile work environment rife with sexual harassment that the department’s top-brass not only failed to address, but ultimately contributed to.
