He was sentenced to life in prison at 16 after shooting a man during an attempted armed robbery. In 2018 the U.S. Supreme Court found it unconstitutional for juveniles to face life sentences so Moran was released after serving 24 years in prison, but the state recently appealed his re-sentencing was unconstitutional and he may need to return.
