Flooding Closes Bridge Over Brandywine Creek In Caln Township

CALN TOWNSHIP, PA — Flooding that followed heavy rains on Tuesday afternoon has closed a bridge that more than 4,400 vehicles cross daily on Route 340 (Kings Highway) over Brandywine Creek in Caln Township.
The bridge carrying Route 340 over the West Branch of Brandywine Creek is closed due to severe damage caused by recent flooding, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced at 10:20 a.m. on June 9.
During the closure, motorists will be detoured over Reeceville Road, U.S. 30 (Coatesville-Downingtown Bypass) and Route 82 (1st Avenue). Local access will be maintained up to the work zone.
