Jan Benson and his family earlier this month turned the 125-year-old flag over to the Utah State Capitol, where it will be displayed for the public to enjoy, KSL.com news' Carter Williams reported. "I’ve always felt that this flag didn’t really belong to my family. Even though we were custodians of it, it belongs to the public," Jan Benson told the news site. "And we’ve been trying to find that organization that would be able to do that, and make it available to the public. Through a series of people, good luck and prayers, we have found that organization."
