Firefighters' Dover Toy Drive meets community need By Karen Dandurant DOVER – Gifts gathered during the annual Dover Fire & Rescue toy drive will soon be distrbuted around the community, where they will help brighten Christmas for local children. On Sunday, hundreds of toys were bagged for families, fulfilling as many family requests as possible. Each year between 100 and 150 families benefit from the annual toy drive, which has been going on since at least 1976. “I have a picture of Brendan helping out with this when he was 4 years old,” said retired Fire Chief Richard Driscoll, talking about his son as he packed toys.
