[email protected] Fire crews responded to a report of a garage fire at 304 Palmer Hill Road at around 3:10 p.m. Sunday, according to the Lycoming County 911 center. The fire began in an external garage structure, and spread to a nearby field across a neighboring treeline. The fire also affected a pickup truck outside the structure, pictured, and spread several acres into a nearby field. The flames were confined to the garage structure at around 4 p.m., when firefighters were still attempting to knock the flames down. The garage is a total loss. Woodward Volunteer Fire Company, South Williamsport Fire Department, Nisbet Volunteer Fire Company, DuBoistown Fire Department, Old Lycoming Township Volunteer Fire Company, Hepburn Township Volunteer Fire Company, Montoursville Fire Department, Eldred Township Volunteer Fire Company and Citizens’ Hose Company from Jersey Shore all responded alongside Loyalsock Volunteer Fire Company, which took lead during the incident. This fire was reported as other fire companies battled a field fire near 12000 Butternut Grove, to which units were dispatched at 12:45 p.m. earlier in the day. According to the Lycoming County 911 center, this field fire was last reported as having spread five acres, and was reported as totally under control at around 4:40 p.m.
