Firearm involved in assault


A 37-year-old Key First Nation man has been remanded in custody pending a bail hearing March 10 on an assault with a weapon charge.
Jason Troy Papequash appeared in Yorkton court Monday after being arrested Saturday when Kamsack RCMP responded to a complaint from the First Nation.
Papequash faces a total of eight charges related to the incident including assault with a weapon, possession of a firearm contrary to a court order, careless use of a firearm, two other firearm related charges and
three counts of failing to comply
with a probation order.
Papequash also has outstanding charges out of Melville for mischief and failing to comply with and undertaking. He is scheduled to appear in Kamsack court March 10.
