Updated 5/12/2021 5:18 PM A home in an unincorporated area near Lombard suffered an estimated $75,000 in damages in a fire Tuesday night, authorities said. The Lombard Fire Department responded at 6:14 p.m. to the one-story home in the 1200 block of South Lloyd Avenue. When crews arrived at 6:19 p.m., they found smoke venting from the eaves of the home.
The homeowner told firefighters that the blaze started in the basement, officials said. All the occupants were out of the home. Because there are no fire hydrants in the area, water had to be trucked in, according to a news release.
