Updated: 9:34 PM EDT May 7, 2021 RAVENNA, Ohio — The Portage County Sheriff's Office is on scene after a fight broke out inside the local juvenile detention center Friday night. Officials say the melee started around 8:40 p.m. between five and seven juveniles, who began flipping tables and spraying fire extinguishers. Those involved apparently tried to gain entry into the detention center's control room but were unable. Sheriff's deputies were able to make entry and gain control of the situation. There are no reports of any injuries, and the fire department is on scene making sure everyone inside is okay. All of the juvenile residents inside the facility are currently on lockdown in their own independent cells.
