But typical government bureaucrats they come up with these irrelevant numbers they can apply to every single household. It makes no sense. Stop based on data or science. But i think the real purpose to a lot of these lockdowns is to grow the size and scope of government and state power in our lives. That should terrify all americans just as much is the virus. A lot of restaurants, this is one of the few places you can stay open to the fall and winter. They have invested in these outdoor covered patios with elaborate heating systems. And what does it do to these businesses to be shut down this particular three weeks of the year . It is incredibly devastating. We have already suffered such huge losses this year. You know, our sales are down i would say at least 50 60 from last year. We were able to make it up a little bit during this period in which we could have Outdoor Dining. And yes, we invested determined this amount of money into building out a patio in our parking lot. And bringing in heating, fencing, plans to make it beautiful. And now, all of that money is now down the drain. We are in a worse position than we were back in march to be truthful. Kennedy and march was devastating. Did you have any idea how intense the impact would be . And how long this would go . Was there any way for the typical independently owned restaurant in los angeles to brace for Something Like that . Absolutely not. Either member back in march when all of this first started and we were getting into stayathome order. We kept saying wellin a few weeks, we reopen we can do this, this, and this. To the few weeks turned to a few months. Here we are eight months later. And the Restaurant Industry throughout the country has suffered more greatly than any other industry. We suffered the most job loss. And 20 of the unemployed are from the Restaurant Industry. And we all have gotten through this point and we are not any moneymaking situation. In doing Outdoor Dining that we have been able to have in l. A. It has been treading water to get through to the other side kind of situation. That is a really good points. That is a really good analogy to show people. But now, this is the time of year where restaurants are typically catering to people who are out shopping. Who have relatives who are coming into town. And this is when restaurants can make a little bit more money because people are tipping more. I have to say, a new york and los angeles restaurants have been the most flexible and creative in terms of reopening. Whether its menus that you scan, or Hand Sanitizer at the table. The weight restaurants are able to shield patrons from wind. It is Little Things that have shown that this is really an industry who knows how to take care of itself. But theres only only so much you guys can take. What would help you, from governor gavin newsom or mayor garcetti right now . What would ease the burden a little bit . Obviously being able to cater to our clientele in our restaurant. Even outdoors would be huge. I would not have to lay off the few employees that i still have left working for me. And i would not have to think about the idea of having to close my business. I think even on a greater scale, what we need is a full on restaurant bailout. Not a bailout a restaurant stimulus fund. And there is one called the restaurant act that is already been introduced to the heroes act. It is just waiting for the senate to act. That would really make a difference in the ability for restaurants throughout the country to survive this. Because ppp only got us through a short amount of time. It was a bandaid. This is not an eight week problem, it is an 18 month problem. We need a greater stimulus package to get us to the end. Kennedy yes. Until that happens, Governor Newsom lift the restriction. And he is a real gayness who has a real blood on his hands. And they give him it emmy . Just listen to these two brothers who lost three of their family members in Nursing Homes. I would think he just doesnt deserve an emmy. He deserves an Academy Award for directing and creating a horror show in Nursing Homes. And sure, those were great performances. But the truth of what really happens, is not being discussed enough. And there arent enough journalists who are asking him those tough questions. And when he is challenged he just weaseled his way out of it by trying to play tough guy. The trouble i had with this and i spent some time with janet deem this week impaired her husband lost both of his parents within days because of covid. They not only could not say goodbye to each other, they could not say goodbye to anyone else in their family. And they could not have proper funerals for them. I mean this is a disgrace. And you know what happens to all these families, the thousands and thousands of families that here andrew cuomo say things youve got to take responsibility. Getting an emmy traumatizes them. And that is awful. Will i am troubled is in trouble obviously by the tragic death in new york nursing home spread although the governor disputes the criticism its hard to deny the policy he adopted did lead to many unnecessary deaths.
