Great to see everybody this morning, thank you so much for being here. Greg, let me kick it off with you, get your reaction to what we are seeing in the market. Yesterday sharp decline, better than 500 points on the dow and the selling looks fractional but continuing this morning. Sure, good morning, maria. And thank you for having us on again. We had the opportunity to join the show consistent in the course of 2020, throughout the beginning of the year obviously we talked about coronavirus, then in march, you know, we made a strong pivot to to the monetary side of the equation, so we really feel today a lot of which has driven the market has really come from the Federal Reserve and has come from the liquidity side. Obviously in conjunction with that, we have gotten fair amount of fiscal support as well. Coming out out of this jackson hole symposium. We changed from the other side of the equation. When you listen to the fed its changed and announced new policy frameworks, if you look at credit side of balance sheet, they havent been able to expand the program and at the same time we are struggling here on the fiscal side as well. I think if you look at the march channel from march 23rd, we broke the upward channel somewhere in end of august. Maria yeah, we have been talking about very few alternatives to equities given the level of Interest Rates. Youre talking about the Federal Reserve. Thats really been what this recovery in the market has been about. There arent any alternatives, are you saying that has changed . Well, i just think that tone from the fed has has changed, right . The velocity, i think, of the impact of the fed on markets has tempered here, right. At the same time if you listen to chairman powell, you listen to what hes saying even with secretary mnuchin, hes saying, look, the fed can lend, they cant spend and i think what the economy needs right now is much more on the spending side, on the fiscal side and like i said when you look at the fed programs, plain stream lending facilities, they havent been able to expand the programs. So i think the market is tempering itself here as we saw transition of 6 months of very strong monetary support into the 2020 election. Maria mark tepper, jump in. Mark look, so i think fed chair powells position right now, ive done everything i can do. The economic rebound is going to be even. There are some companies doing really well, but theres other pockets that are struggling and at this point the only thing that are going to help would be to reopen the economy and also fiscal stimulus like greg was saying, he cant control that but he can influence it. Im not for big spending but in capitalism the government is supposed to be empire and not a participant. The government became a participant, they made a mess and they have to clean it out on the way out and you cant expect people to shut down and then make them whole. Thats exactly right. We agree with that completely. Still in our view, you know, we talked about the stimulus but in the end its liquidity whether you look at what we did with the ppp program or Unemployment Insurance and as the economy continues to reopen and as we continue to get our arms around coronavirus and its really a global dynamic, we have seen a lot of negative news coming out of europe and uk in particular as we continue to try and get our arms around that, the economy is going to require more fiscal stimulus and to marks point, i think the fed and really for the first time, the fed is not supposed to insert themselves in the fiscal equation but given the extremity of what we are faced with right now, the fed is in many ways over last 6 months, they are overstepping their boundaries a little bit but that tells you how severe this is. Maria absolutely. Let me get your take on the backdrop, having said all of that. Ceos are calling for stimulus, business round table and thirdquarter survey, plans improving but remain fragile underscoring the need for policy make toaster take additional action to support a strong and sustainable economic recovery. Ceos remain concern about Small Businesses, the round table executives remain optimistic about Business Conditions overall, twothirds believe conditions will normalize by the end of the year. Look at what Goldman Sachs is doing, lowering expectations for the gdp so the backdrop expectations are still quite fragile. Whats your take . Do we need stimulus . What do you see in the second half of the year in terms of the backdrop, the economy . Yeah, i dont think theres any question at this point we do need some fiscal stimulus to get us through at least through the rest of 2020. I think theres a will. I mean, the economy wants to reopen very aggressively here, but at the same time, you know, we have challenges moving forward and i would also add, obviously, weve got this election in in november and, you know, the dynamics around that have really shifted too in terms of will we have an actual outcome on november 4th. I think when was put all of that in the blender and you look at the news from Goldman Sachs downgrading forecast. We have been in this sort of unevening reopening to have economy. We think next year can be a strong year but shortterm as we get through the election and the dynamics right now with the fed theyre not going to away. But the velocity has tempered and at the same time we have fiscal distort. Maria all right, greg, thank you so much. Great analysis from you, good to see you, agreeing. President trump to name nominee to the Supreme Court on saturday following the death of Justice Ruth Bader ginsburg. Democrats slamming the decision to nominate judge and nancy pelosi would consider impeachment as way to block a nominee. The president and democratic nominee joe biden both speaking about the issue yesterday. We were elected, we have a lot of times. One justice was picked in 19 days. We could do 4 at that rate or 5. Its better if you go before the election and the scam that the democrats are pulling, the scam will be before the United States Supreme Court. Make the case why this is [inaudible] medical health care is going to be gone. Maria joining me right now the Washington Examiner editorinchief hugo gurdon. Hugo, good to see you. Your reaction to all of this. Hugo you know, maria, the president is only doing what history and the constitution allows. I mean, to say this is abuse of power as joe biden did is absurdity. 19 justices have been nominated in election years when the senate is controlled by the same party as the president and 17 times that justice has been confirmed, thats 89 , so its a suggestion that this is somehow out of historical norm is absurdity. Its not the case when the parties are different, when the senate is controlled by one party and the president another, there only 20 get confirmed and thats what happened with Merrick Garland which the democrats say it was stolen. This is no abuse of power, its straightforward. Its the president s constitutional duty and its going to get done. Maria so let me switch gears and ask you about the peaceful transfer of power. I know that senator ron johnson has been investigating the transfer from the Obama Administration to Trump Administration for some time and he said that the Obama Administration totally wrecked any idea of any peaceful transition back then because of the unmasking of general flynn, because of the wiretapping of an incoming president. Yesterday the president respond today a question over whether he will accept the results of the president ial election if joe biden wins, take a listen. Would you commit to making sure theres a peaceful transfer of power half the election . We will have to see what happens. Ive been complaining very strongly about the ballots and the ballots are a disaster. Get rid of the ballots and youll have a very peaceful there wont be a transfer, frankly. Theyll be a continuation. The ballots are out of control, you know it and you know who knows it better than anybody else, the democrats. Maria so now the president s skeptics, hugo, are going nuts over the response. No mention of what took place during the transition to obama to trump, by the way. Your reaction. Hugo exactly, as i listen to that question, maria, i thought here is the question thats taking advantage of trumps kind of rhetorical clumsiness and stoke the hysteria. The question was asked 3 times, are you going to allow peaceful transfer of power, implicit say it asked the candidate that is to say trump to agree that hes going to lose office, that hes going to lose the election. No president , no no politician likes to concede the hypothetical that hes going to lose. But additionally, it needs to be remembered, the context of this needs to be remembered. Every election, every close election for the past 40 years, its the democrats who said that this has been won by republicans by nefarious and low way. When regan won in 1980 it was done because of secret negotiations negotiations with the ayatolla. If the reporter had said, mr. President , after all ballots are counted and legal actions it is deemed that you have lost the election would you allow transfer of power. My suspicion is that we didnt stoke hysteria that we are now seeing. Maria exactly. Dagen, real quick, dont forget that its the democrats that never accepted donald trump and never accepted the legitimacy of his presidency. Dagen i know that she was exaggerated but, again, they are trying to lay over 200,000 deaths on President Trumps handling to have coronavirus but lets not forget that the democrats were impeaching this president when the coronavirus was just beginning to spread around the United States. Hugo, to your point, this is just a way of President Trump quite frankly sending the media and the democrats down a rabbit hole and to think that he would stand up there and talk about if i lose, thats thats just beyond comprehension for the president to ever stand up there and, oh, yeah, i will talk if i lose in november. Maria yeah, okay. Hugo clearly it was an absurd question and its not going you know, the president cannot be expected to concede in advance that hes going to lose the election. Thats as straightforward as that. Maria yeah, really too much. Hugo, good to see you this morning. Stay with us. We will be right back. Give you my world how can i, when you wont take it from me you can go your own way go your own way your wireless. Your rules. Only with Xfinity Mobile. Maria welcome back, the battle of the white house focusing on swing states, the latest quinnipiac poll shows joe biden leading President Trump by 10 points nationally ahead of election, poll from Washington Post shows edging biden. President trump is picking up some speed here. Dagen particularly in florida, some of the support is coming from latinos. Watch the voting block. Pith President Trump has to win florida in order to win electoral college, watch the latino voters even in places like pennsylvania. If the democrats if the president nominates Amy Coney Barrett to fill in the Supreme Court and the democrats pull a Brett Kavanaugh speccall and spectacle that could help help President Trump and hurt joe biden with women and people who value their religious freedom. Catholics in particular. Also with the debate coming up next week, watch joe biden to see if he fades and fumbles in the closing like half hour debate, not the first hour of the debate. I just want to go back to something he said during one of the the debates last year with his democratic opponents when he was asked about how, he said this, make sure you have record player and make sure kids hear every word. It was just such it was just gobble and that could hurt him, if he loses his train of thought and it seems like hes not on top of his game. I could go on. I have a lot to say. Maria we are all going to be waiting and watching for, mark tepper, jump in. Mark yeah, so over the course of the next 2, 3 weeks a lot of stuff can change, all eyes on the debate next week, right here in my hometown of cleveland, proud of that, plus, you know, when you look at the polls, the polls tend to be pretty noisy, so what we do is we prefer to watch the direction of the s p 500, the 90 days before the election. When its up incumbent Party Remains in party 87 of the time and when its down you have a changeup. And right now s p is down 1. 5 from august third so thats what we would rather Pay Attention to. Maria yeah, i agree with you, the message to have markets is something that we need to be watching for. Lets take a break. Im maria bartiromo, and it is thursday september 24th, take a look at markets this morning, 6 31 a. M. On the east coast and we are looking at a mix start, the nasdaq is lower by 23 points. The s p 500 is higher by just one and three quarters points this after a sharp selloff yesterday. All three major indices downs across the board with stimulus delays, coronavirus concerns and open seat on the Supreme Court expectation that is the agenda is dead for the time being in washington. Dow industrials down 525 points and nasdaq down 330 and s p lower by 78, european markets are also mixed to lower right now. Take a look. Ftse 100 down 25 and cac down 6 but the dax higher, up 17 in germany. In asia red across the board, worst performer was korea, down 2 and a half percent. Shanghai composite down one and three quarters percent. Chad wolf meanwhile calling out the threat White Supremacy to the United States. Cheryl that is right, maria, the acting secretary made the comments before senate. White supremacy poses lethal threat in the United States. Whistleblower told him to down play supremacy and russian interfere to better fit the president s agenda. Wolf denied the accusations and jp morgan is reportedly set to pay 1 billion to settle allegations that manipulated prices for metals to treasury security. If they end up paying the fine it would be the largest for spoofing. Well, California Governor Gavin Newsom signing a directive yesterday ordering the state to ban the sale of gaspowered cars in the state by 2035, it would only ban new car sales and would not affect already owned vehicles. This comes as the state deals with major wild fires that some attribute to worsening to Climate Change, more than 36 million gaspowered cars were registered in the state last year. Well, charge point, largest Vehicle Charging Networks is going public by joining with acquisition. Pretty popular. This deal set to close by the end of the year 2. 4 million. Charge point operates 155,000 charge locations. And those are your headlines from here. Back to you. Maria thank you so much. Chaos in louisville. A suspect in custody this morning after two Police Officers were shot in louisville amid protests against the indictments in the death of Breonna Taylor. Earlier in the day the grand jury brought charges against one of three officers involved in the shooting with none of the charges directly involving taylors death, former acting u. S. Attorney mat whitaker, thank you so much for being here. Your reaction to this, we should point out what took place that night in Breonna Taylors apartment as well. Yeah, maria, thanks for having me on. You dont want to see an American City go through this type of chaos. We cant have vigilantes on the streets trying to instill their own form of justice. I thought daniel cameron, the attorney general for kentucky did a really good job explaining as best he could based on ethical restrictions what the facts were of the case. They were different from, i think, what a lot of people believe the facts were or had been told by the media and this is very tragic death of Breonna Taylor and obviously the law can only do so much in this case and i would remind people that if they dont like the law, their elected officials can change the law to apply to cases like this and if they dont like the way the elected officials apply the law, then obviously they can vote differently in order to change that as well, so the people continue to be in power in all these types of situations if theyd like a different result, but mob violence and vigilant justice is no way to proceed in these types of instances. Maria i think its important to review what took place that night so people understand why there was shots fired in the first place by officers because officers showed up at Breonna Taylors house, apparently her boyfriend shot at them. When fire came at the officers, that is when the officers shot back and obviously hit Breonna Taylor. Your reaction to actually what took place. Should there have been any other results here in terms of charges . Yeah. I actually think that the law only allows so much to happen here and in this case the officers were fired at first, they had a legal justification to return fire, you know, its a tragic situation that breonna was caught in, the shooting, they knocked unannounced. It was not a noknock warrant and, you know, the situation could have been handled very differently if the boyfriend who was there had not shot first at the police. You know, this is another example where, you know, Law Enforcement has a very difficult job every day, you know, we ask them to do almost impossible paths, you know, they never know whats behind the door and obviously these officers once they were being fired at and one of them was hit in the leg, it was essentially a gunfight between Law Enforcement and and something they couldnt see because it was dark at night and so, maria, i think this is a situation where, you know, the shooting while tragic was certainly, the firing of the weapons was justified. Maria exactly. Let me move onto Florida Attorney general. The ag is calling for investigation into Mike Bloomberg and whether or not he violated state election laws after he raised 16 million to help felons vote in upcoming election. Yesterday i spoke with florida congressman matt gaetz. Here is what matt gaetz said. Watch this. Youre watching into a probe for Mike Bloomberg to spend all the money in florida alone. Tell us about it. Im the former criminal justice chairman of the Florida House of representatives. I know this area of law well. I spoke to the Florida Attorney general last night and criminal probe may be under way. It is a felony for someone to either directly or indirectly offer something of value to impact whether or not someone votes. So in this case, you the question of whether or not paying someones restitution and court costs is something of value. You extinguish and thats, of course, something of value. Maria your thoughts on this, matt. Matt representative gaetz is right. Its as if bloomberg was giving cash to people and obviously that is prohibited and, you know, the question is whether or not the attorney general or the, you know, the local prosecutors are willing to go after Mike Bloomberg and charge him with crimes. You know, sometimes and it should not work this way. If Mike Bloomberg clearly who is violating the law should be prosecuted which the facts are pretty clear right now are inconsistent or violate the law. I think this is going to be an interesting case. It probably will not play until after the election, but this is i think Mike Bloomberg has gone too far with this plan. Maria real quick, matt, on the Senate Report joe and Hunter Bidens connections, the report releasing yesterday, report found that hunters Financial Transactions with chinese nationals raised criminals concerns. The former wife of the former mayor of moscow wiretapped 3 and a half Million Dollars to hunter biden. We dont know why. This is just one part of the millions of dollars and actually more than a billion when you look at china. Hunter biden has received from foreign entities while his father was sitting Vice President and doing deals with ukraine, china overseeing what was taking place there. Your reaction from that report. Not a peep from the Mainstream Media on the report. Its disgusting the Mainstream Media hasnt reported. The only reason he was paid millions of dollars because of his father being Vice President and policies related to china and ukraine and russia and, you know, the other thing, lets remember that he was unqualified and inexperienced in any of these areas that he was asked and paid to be a part of and so i think this is a classic case of political corruption, you know, and the real question that needs to be asked, what did joe biden know and when did he know it. Maria yeah, all right, matt, great to take your temperature on all of. Thank you so much Matt Whitaker joining us there. We will see you soon, sir. The race for the vaccine is on. Dr. Fauci says every american should have a dose by april but new concerns over mutating viral strain, secretary alex azar is here to discuss and a lot more and we are looking at state of happiness, find out which state is full of the countrys happiest people, do you want to guess . Maria welcome back, covid19 changing, a new report shows the disease is mutating with one mutation making more contagious, the genetic changes do not make the virus deadlier. Joining us med page today editor and chief and fox news medical contributor dr. Marty makary. What do you make of this . Doctor good to see you, maria. Single amino acid change. I dont think its a significant mutation. Maybe its more sticky. I was talking to a doctor in kenya, they have no nursing homes, they have a younger population, they have very few indoor congregate settings, they have almost no coronavirus. They have been able to set the fire wall and thats what we are seeing in the northeast, even if its more slightly more sticky, slightly more contagious and the mitigation steps are still the same and vaccine is more effective even with mutated spiked protein. Dagen dr. Makary, are there any areas of the country where youre seeing uptick of cases, where the areas are reopening and theres concerns that you might have to kind of pull back on the openings . Doctor there are about 15 states right now where we are seeing increase in Positivity Rate and although its a slight increase, theres clearly an uptick right now and this is probably the normal relaxing, reopening and seeing the slight uptick. That doesnt mean we need to stay honkerred down 100 with lockdowns but something that im concerned about and im concerned about fatigue out there and if you watch the nfl, you see the coaches who are over age 50 not wearing their masks or not wearing properly and hugging players and other folks, that kind of behavior and complacency is risky as we go into the fall and potentially collide with the flu. Maria what about jackson, Johnson Johnson says treatment Shows Positive interim results, dr. Makary, there were certain side effects such as fever and flulike symptoms, are those side effects normal for the vaccine, whats your take on the efforts toward the vaccine . Dock to be doctor well, maria, they sound to be standard flu shot complications which are mild, rare and tolerable given the rate of more talety. Im very optimistic. This is a single dose, its not two doses. It can be kept at refrigeration. It does not require that may news 80 degree freezer that pfizer requires and maybe too we get two different vaccines or 3 and maybe in certain populations they get the Pfizer Vaccine and in other vaccines they get the j j vaccine and i think its promising. That means we will get the results quick. Maria yeah, but dr. Fauci is still telling us the places to avoid. Hes the leading infection specialists, gyms, bars and restaurants are the businesses most likely to spread covid19. Dr. Fauci referenced data from the cdc to back up claim. We are trying to open the economy, fauci is telling us not to do any of this stuff . Well, maria, ive been following dr. Fauci for a long part of my career and let me tell you something in general. He speaks in generalities. If we possibly we might want to consider. Thats his language. He does raise a good point, thats the highest risk settings are the bars, gyms and restaurants because youre basically exhaling for a longer period of time with potentially poor ventilation. We know those are the higher risk settings but the dedensefication can work. Certainly theres consequences of that. Maria all right, doctor, great to see you this morning, dr. Marty makary. Chaos erupting in louisville, kentucky last night after one of three officers of involved in Breonna Taylors death is charged but not for her killing. Were talking to experts about the charges and what can be done to quell the violence now. The case against hunter biden, more questions for the former Vice President s son over his financial ties to foreign entities while his father was Vice President. Wisconsin senator ron johnson is joining me with shocking details from the report out of the senate. Futures this morning look mixed. Goldman sachs is cutting Fourth Quarter gdp Growth Expectation from 6 down to 3 . Markets this morning mixed with the dow industrials up 33 points of but the nasdaq lower by 15, s p 500 up 2 points. This comes after markets tumbled late yesterday, pushed down by technology, lockdown fears and stimulus uncertainty. The race for a vaccine, dr. Anthony fauci says every american should have a dose by april. Alex azar is here, joining me with more on the race for a vaccine. For covid19. Tiktok versus the Trump Administration, the emergency injunction the company filed with their u. S. Download ban set to take effect this sunday. And new years going virtual in 2020, one major celebration takes on a different look this year. Mornings with maria is live right now. European markets this morning are mixed as well, take a look. The fq100 down 16, cac down just about a point, the dax is higher, up 32 points. In asia, red across the board. Asian markets finishing as you can see in the red with the worst performer in korea and china. Joining the conversation all morning this morning, Dagen Mcdowell and mark tepper. Great to see you guys. We see this huge selloff underway yesterday, continuing this morning. Dagen, it feels like Market Participants are expecting things are sort of on standstill until we get through Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the cherishing of her life and perhaps the president s pick this saturday. Dagen that and also really waiting for more rescue money from congress. Nancy pelosi has nothing to do with the confirmation process of Ruth Bader Ginsburgs replacement. But the house, congress does control the power of the purse, so where are these democrats moving forward on additional money for the more than 12 andahalf million americans who are still collecting just state unemployment benefits, all the businesses out there that need money. Remember, democrats in the senate didnt even basically stop any kind of debate on a small stimulus package that would help, i dont know, children trying to go back to school, Small Businesses, and the unemployed. Theres a one andahalf trillion dollar package put together Bipartisan Group of 50 of congressmen and women that the House Speaker and the democrats have not moved on. Theres something in it for everybody. But again, she is playing poll of ticks. Shes not going to do anything that helps President Trump and that means shes not going to do anything to help unemployed americans and Small Business owners who are watching their businesses essentially dry up. Maria thats right. And she has made that very clear as the race to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg takes center stage. President trump plans to announce his nominee for the Supreme Court at 5 00 p. M. On saturday evening in the white house rose garden. He spoke yesterday on the importance of having a ninth justice on the bench to deal with the election, for example. Watch. I think its better if you go before the election because i think this scam that the democrats are pulling, its a scam, the scam will be before the United States Supreme Court and i think having a fourfour situation is not a good situation. If you you get that, i dont know that youd get that, i think it should be eightnothing or ninenothing but just in case it would be more political than it should be, i think its very important to have a ninth justice. Maria joining me right now is pennsylvania congressman, member of the House Judiciary Committee and House Armed Services committee, guy reschenthaler. Thank you for being here. Likewise, good morning. Maria are you expecting a consistent tested election on contested election on november 3rd. Do you see a need to have a ninth justice in there in case the election is contested on november 3rd. If youve got four and four, what happens then . Exactly, maria. Thats what im anticipating. Look at pennsylvania, the pennsylvania Supreme Court usurped the power of the legislative branch. You can you now in pennsylvania turn in ballots three days after the ballot boxes are closed. That were obviously challenging in court. If that were allowed to stand, the democrats could reverse engineer the election. We could go to bed on the third and wake up on the fourth and think President Trump has won pennsylvania which i believe he will win and the democrats will reverse engineer the election, miraculously find the ballots, dont even have to be postmarked and well be in a recount or there will be a challenge on the ballots and thats of course just like in 2000 in florida can go to the u. S. Supreme court. I think its important that President Trump gets a nominee, that we have a full Supreme Court. And democrats are saying the same thing back in 2016, maria. We could play the tapes of democrats calling for merit garland to be pointed. Appointed. Its just now that they reversed themselves. Maria this is an important point. I know Pennsylvania Republicans are planning to appeal this ruling on mailin ballots to the Supreme Court, tees up the first test for the Supreme Court since the death of justice ginsburg. Last week the Supreme Court ruled that the ballots received by november 6th, congressman, november 6th must be counted as long as they are postmarked by election day. So the elections on so the election voting is november 3rd and then were going to be looking at ballots until the sixth. The gop argues it will lead to voter fraud. Already im seeing what theyre doing with children. Ive got friends who told me that in their kids grammar schools, theyre being asked to fill out forms to discuss all their personal history so that they can be ready to vote. Its incredible whats going on in academia right now in terms of preparing young children, putting all their information out there so that theyre quote, unquote, prepared to vote. We shouldnt be surprised that the left is now trying to engage in voter fraud. The same people that would burn down our cities, the same people that would try to blind federal officers with lasers, this shouldnt surprise us. The least violent thing that weve seen the far left do is try to tamper in our elections. Its still wrong but the fact that pennsylvanias Supreme Court has said you dont even need to put a stamp on the ballots, again, they can be collected three days after the election, that they can be dropped off, they legalized ballot harvesting and made it now possible for these far left activists and these democrat loyalists to engage in voter fraud and steal the election in pennsylvania from President Trump who i believe is going to win pennsylvania. I expect sadly we will not know the winner of this election for possibly weeks. I think this election is going to look a lot more like florida in 2000, only probably youre going to see it in florida, pennsylvania, new mexico and elsewhere, because of the mailin ballots and the window, the big window thats been opened to commit fraud. Maria unbelievable. Let me move on to the Justice Departments proposals to limit technologys legal shields. President trump met with state attorneys generals yesterday, discussing the important of curbing immunity for Internet Companies, censoring consent. The Justice Department suggested curbs pushing sites to address illegal content. Look, this has been talked about for some time but they want to curb these longstanding Legal Protections for Internet Companies. Theyve been in place for a long time, since the 1996 law went into effect. That basically shields them from lawsuits. Thats going away if the doj has its way. Maria, it should go away. What youre referring to is section 232, that was put in place to allow the Tech Companies to earn their fee and get established. Theyre well established now, as we know. Theyre giants. And the Tech Industry has to decide which way they want to if they want to be platforms, where they are immune from liability for defamation and slander, or if theyre to be treated like publishers, as if theyre a newspaper company. If theyre a court, sotospeak, cork board in your College Dorm Room where everybody can put up whatever they want and theres no scone soreship, thats one censorship, thats one thing. They cant be sued for defamation or of libel. If they select what messages can be put up on their platform, then theyre acting as publishers, really editors, and then they can be sued for defamation. They cant have it both ways. Either theyre the passive cork board in your College Dorm Room or theyre like a newspaper but they cant have it both ways. Maria congressman, real quick, former fbi director jim comey is going to be speaking before the senate Judiciary Committee next wednesday, september 30th. What do you want to hear from the former fbi director . Well, i want to hear exactly who knew what and when. Weve got to remember that last time that jim comey testified, we didnt have the horowitz information, we didnt know just the extent to which the fbi under jim comey went to do such things as entrap flynn, spy on the trump campaign. So i want to know who was directing it, was it susan rice . Did it go up to Vice President joe biden . What about president obama . How high did this antitrump movement go and who was actually calling the shots to spy on a Political Campaign and spy on the Trump Administration. And i want to know exactly who was meddling in the transfer of power, how high up that went. Maria all right. We will leave it there. We all want to hear the same things. Congressman, good to see you this morning, congressman guy reschenthaler. Weve got a big show ahead. Coming up, wisconsin senator ron johnson is here to talk about his investigation into hunter biden and his foreign financial dealings. What did then Vice President joe biden know. Then, health and Human Services secretarial ex azar will secretary alex azar will join me. Kyle bass joins us on the potential for for stimulus and the threat from china. Time for the word on wall street, joining me now, divine Asset Management ceo, daniel hughes, ken mahoney and senior equity strategist linda disell. Markets trying to break the september slump, stocks seeing steep losses yesterday, the dow closing with 520 point loss and futures are this morning mixed. , fractional moves here. Ken, whats your take on the selling . I should also point out what were seeing in terms of todays market activity, weve got a lot of Federal Reserve speakers, youve got the feds kaplan from texas, youve got evans, bark in, williams, bosstik all speaking at different events and of course theres Federal Reserve chairman powell and steven mnuchin, treasury second continuing their testimony today to the senate. Whats your take on all of that . The fed feels like their hands are tied, theyre waiting for the fiscal side of things to get things going for the economy. Jerome powell put his hands up. We have to look back to august. August was frothy. We were only down four days in the month of august. Here we are down in september, four of the last five trading days and you you felt the frothiness. Look, mom, no hands. At the end of the day, we know this markets a bronco. You better have a sell discipline. When we were ramping up and overbought, incrementally you take chips off the table. Now we meet september, last 20 years septembers not been so pretty, we have election uncertainty, the fiscal as we mentioned not getting passed, you put it together and here we are in september. We Like Technology here. We like that we have this correction. We think its a technical correction, not anything to do with the fundamentals. So weve been looking to incrementally buy back positions we sold with the frothiness in august. Maria all right. Linda, your thoughts . I you agree with what your other guest has said. We did get frothy. What i found interesting about the frothiness, done tails with robin hood users, the biggest names were up 59 the last i saw, yeartodate, through maybe september 8th. The other 495 names were up 1 yeartodate. So there is a lot of room in the marketplace beyond these names to find great value and we at federated are bullish on the market and having money on the sidelines after the pretty much parabolic moves in the last couple months, were starting to put that back to work now. Maria yeah. I mean, you know, where rates are at zero, linda, i mean, are there any other opportunities . Are there alternatives when you know youre not getting yield anywhere else . Isnt that the longstanding push to own stocks . It absolutely is. And there are good fundamental reasons behind it too. Even the biggest names, as a share of the s p 500 is a big share, but so are their earnings shares. So theres very theres a lot of ideas that next year will be a good year earningswise for the marketplace and could justify this. But zero Interest Rates, the fed that has no desire to raise rates anytime soon, a fed and even regardless of who wins this election, an add a medicine strayings that says we administration that says we wont let you fall back into recession, this is music to the ears of equity investors. I think its dangerous to be a bear in here. Maria its dangerous to be a bear regardless of the election, linda . I mean, the policies could not be more different when you look at trump and biden. Do things change should biden win this election . Well, i think the marketplace is worried about buy ben raising taxes, at biden raising questions. From a market and a stock point of view, social policy, et cetera, is a different and very important area but as the market is concerned, its all about the tax hikes. When people say well, the market hasnt been considering tax hikes, i call hogwash, if were talking about it then the market is considering that and the market is considering now what if trump should refuse to leave office if he loses. He has to say things that drum up his base but if were talking about it, is in the market which is the market is a forecasting mechanism. Figure its in the market, look and fundamentals and say were all progressive, money will be easy regardless of who wins, just a question of how much. Maria danny hughes, what are the opportunities you see today . Well, i agree with linda and ken. We appear poised for a stronger advance longer term but its going to be a period of choppy and corrective clearing of imbalances because leadership was too concentrated. You cant have a sustained advance led by kickly calls cyclicals without the financials. The fed indicating rock bottom Interest Rates means we have to take more risks as investors. We like to look at places that are expanding, that are longterm stories. I have a couple of names id like to share. Particularly in healthcare spending. We like cvs, we own it. Its down 22 yeartodate. Theyre not only a Healthcare Solution provider, theres brick and mortar, digital, they bought aetna. In the Second Quarter during the covid crisis they had 7. 1 billion that they generated in cash and a sustainable dividend of three andahalf percent. So we like the healthcare space an awful lot. Maria well, ill tell you, its hard to find yield anywhere with the exception of those dividend plays. Its a great point, danny. Thank you so much. Danielle, ken and linda, well see you soon. Thank you very much. Quick break and then amazon unveiling a brandnew device, well show you what to expect coming out of amazon. Well be right back. Stay with us. I feel it more than ever. I like liberty mutual. They get that no two people are alike and customize your Car Insurance so you only pay for what you need. What do you think . I dont see it. Only pay for what you need. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. So youre a small bor a big one. You were thriving, but then. Oh. Ah. Okay. Plan, pivot. How do you bounce back . You dont, you bounce forward, with serious and reliable internet. Powered by the largest gig Speed Network in america. But is it secure . Sure its secure. And even if the power goes down, your connection doesnt. So how do i do this . You dont do this. We do this, together. Bounce forward, with comcast business. Maria welcome back. Curbing the legal immunities for technology of companies, President Trump met with state owner attorneys general discussing the importance of curbing the immunity for Internet Companies who are also censoring content. Curbs including pushing sites to address illegal content. Dagen, weve been talking about this for a long time. Now we see the doj moving on proposals. Dagen i want to point this out. Senator ron widen helped write the initial Legal Protections that are now being targeted, if you will, by the Justice Department. And he said republicans are trying to, quote, work the rest ahead of the election. Oh, okay, fair and consistent to democrats is an thema. If its taken by congress after the election, this will get support from the right and the left, from conservatives and liberals, republicans and democrats because they see this as kind of an unfair treatment of people on these platforms and then the social Media Companies going back to the mid 90s are getting recover with this liability protection. And all the Justice Department wants to do is to have the content there, policed fairly and a anything that might result in violence or selfharm to be taken down quickly. Maria yeah. Well, this is one of the few areas where both sides agree. Mark, remember Elizabeth Warren out and front and center saying these companies should be broken up as well. Mark yeah, i dont know about them being broken up but what i can say is they have maria thats what Elizabeth Warren said. Mark yeah. But they have to be fair and equal. Right. I mean, this is all about the current laws very broad. We need to narrow it. Its about censorship, about fact checking. When you look at censorship, look at fact checking, it is targeted towards one side right now. The key is if the social Media Companies are going to manage content it has to be done in a way thats fair and consistent across the board. You cant just put the crosshairs on one side and thats whats been happening. I can tell you personally ive seen it in my twitter feed, people respond, those responses get suppressed because they happen to be rightleaning, even if theyre respectful, they get suppressed. You have to get to the more replies area so you can read it. Its ridiculous. Maria yeah. Uh huh. All right. We will watch when in fact this might materialize and take a quick break. When we come back, saying goodbye to an american icon, mourners line up to bid farewell to Ruth Bader Ginsburg, well tell you more about her lying in repose at the support. New years takes on a different look this year. Its making a buzz this morning. Youre watching mornings with maria live on fox business. Dont show up. Dont come out. Lets take a look at markets this morning of. Were looking at a mixed story, things are turning a bit more negative here. Dow industrials positive by 2 points, nasdaq is down now 26 points and s p 500 also weaker by 1 and three quarters. This after the three major average as slid toward the end of the trading day yesterday, sharp decline at the close as stimulus delays, coronavirus concerns, worried investors. Dow industrials down 525 points, the nasdaq was down 330, the s p was lower by 78. European markets are mixed. Take a look. Youve got the fq100 down 13, cac flat and the dax index in germany higher by 30 points. In asia overnight, red across the board, worst performers were korea and china. President trump and First Lady Melania Trump expected to pay their respects today to the late Justice Ruth Bader ginsburg. Cheryl casone now you with details. Cheryl thats right, maria. The president will join hundreds of mourners at the Supreme Court for the feminist icon will lie in repose. Thousands filed past ginsburgs flag draped coffin yesterday including former president bill clinton and Vice President mike pence, this as the battle to fill her seat heats up. President trump making the case to fill her seat before the election. But just in case it would be more political than it should be, i think its very important to have a ninth justice. The American People make the case why this is a mistake and abuse of power. Cheryl today, President Trump heads to North Carolina and florida where hes expected to focus on his healthcare vision for the nation. Well, trust Bridge Capital is paying 200 million to increase the stake in wework of, china. They were going to license their name and services in exchange for a fee, this comes as the Company Looks to reduce its risk following the disastrous ipo attempt and removal of its ceo last year. Wework opened the first location in shanghai back in 2016. And finally, alexa, lets see what youve got. It is device day at amazon, the tech giant expected to reveal new alexa and fire tv devices today, as well as several new speakers, tv and tv related products and Home Security and internet devices. The event kicks off at 10 00 a. M. Pass particular time, 1 00 p. M. Pacific time, 1 00 p. M. Eastern time here. Amazon is lower a quarter percent in the premarket after yesterdays major selloff in tech stocks, maria. Those are your headlines. Maria all right, cheryl many thanthank. Unrest in america this morning once again. No officers were directly charged by a grand jury for the shooting death of Breonna Taylor. The announcement came yesterday, triggering more unrest. Former officers brett hankenson spaces three counts of acting with extreme indifference to the value of human life for firing into a neighboring apartment. Protests erupted following the announcement leaving two officers shot in louisville yesterday. Joining me right now the author of the new book, dont lie to me and stop trying to steal our freedom, judge janine piro is here. Thank you for being with me. Good to see you too. Maria let me get your reaction to the verdict yesterday and on obviously the impact and what were seeing this morning in terms of violence and protesting against it. Well, look, what you saw in kentucky yesterday was the application of the law to the facts in that particular case. And unfortunately, the left wing mob believes that they should dictate what the law should be except lady justice doesnt bow to demands of the mob. The bottom line is that the police apparently went in there, they had a warrant to go in there. There apparently was a knock, which is inconsistent with what was brought out by the Mainstream Media and when they were shot at, they returned fire and that happens periodically when police go in on these kinds of cases. It was a narcotics case, narcotics investigation and in the end the only officer indicted was the one indicted for wanton endangerment for wildly shooting and jeopardizing neighbors. They made a determination that it was essentially a justified shooting based upon the circumstances of the police who were there that night. Maria because they were shot at. Somebody inside the apartment shot at them so they returned fire. Its a very sad and a tragic situation. Let me ask you about Ruth Bader Ginsburg. President trump and the first lady mrs. Melania trump expected to pay their respects today to the late justice as she lies in repose at the Supreme Court, judge. This as trump says he will name his pick for the open Supreme Court seat on saturday. Judge, your reaction . Yes. Well, you know, Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a woman of great consequence, a jurist of great consequence in life. Shell be of even greater consequence in death. With the president nominating his nominee to the Supreme Court on saturday, and well be covering that on justice saturday night, theres going to be a huge reaction by the left. Theyve already got the letters and the emails ready and theyre going to put the name of the appointee in that, in those emails. The left believes that the Supreme Court is nothing more than another legislative branch that they can dictate to. But the Supreme Court is a court that decides law and precedent. It doesnt make law. It isnt a place for activist judges and the judges that the president is looking at are those who have already been affirmed or confirmed by the senate. They are extremely intelligent. They are women of incredible caliber and right now the only thing that that one woman is going to need is a medal to be able to go through with the nomination process because its going to be katie barr the door on this one. Its going to be difficult. Maria let me bring in Dagen Mcdowell. Already the democrats are threatening theyre going to stack the court, dagen. They say if he chooses another Supreme Court justice, were going to fight back. Dagen and republicans should not think that is some bargaining chip that they can come together with the democrats. The democrats for a very long time remember shell whitehouse, it was five senators threatened the Supreme Court, threatened to stack it if they proceeded with this gun case that involved new york city. Judge, do you think the democrats will stupidly make the same mistake they did with the kavanaugh hearings, they be fouled the kavanaugh hearings and four Democratic Senators lost their seats essentially because they were part of the debacle and they voted nay on kavanaugh. Are they going to attack Amy Coney Barrett and make it seem like a religious persecution of a woman . Again, i thought people on the right were the sexists. This is going to be a sexist display. Are they that stupid, theyre going to make the same mistake . Of course they are because theyre dug in even deeper on the left at this point. To be honest with you, you have seen, dagen, that there is an attempt by the left all over, even during the pandemic, to churches are closed but you can buy booze, you can buy marijuana, you can buy whatever you want, you can go to a casino, you can go to the movies but not so many of you can go to church. So in addition to that religious component where theyre dug in, were also going to have a scenario where they just say look, this is our world, our rules, were coming at you and the woman needs a medal to be able to deal with this. Everything will be thrown at her but the kitchen sink. I think Amy Coney Barrett has what it takes. Because when Dianne Feinstein came at her with your religious dogma speaks loudly within you, the truth is she responded and says d of ogma speaks loudly in all of us, i. E. Your political goindogma but it has nothing too with the court. Will the dems make the mistake. Aoc is there, its going to be worse. And youve got kamala harris. Maria well, thats right. She was all over kavanaugh. Weve got that. And shes going to be obviously there on the senate and well see what she says about it. Judge, whats your reaction to this widely anticipated Senate Report, we broke the news yesterday on democratic president ial no, maam he knee joe biden and his nominee joe biden and his sons connections to ukraine and china, the report found that 0 Hunter Bidens transactions raise criminal concerns. President trumps cam a pain can spokesperson responded to the report, says if joe biden wins judge janine, we know that the former wife of the former mayor of moscow sent hunter biden a check for 3. 5 million. Thats just one of the millions that this guy pocketed from financial entities while his father was sitting Vice President. Yes, 3. 5 million. Thats right. Yeah. And, look, this guy is like a vacuum. Hes going around china, russia, eastern europe, ukraine, hes just sucking up money in the billions and it all started on that trip on air force 2 when theyre going to china. You mean to tell me that Hunter Bidens on that plane with his father all the way to china, hes not talking about who hes going to see, what hes going to do, and why hes going there . No, theyre just eating potato chips on the way to china. No. The Vice President had to know and in fact hes already been caught in one lie. But the corporate issues involved here, the Counter Intelligence issues, the fact that now we may have you talk about someone owning a potential president. Youve got china, russia, the ukraine, all of the things they allege President Trump was involved in, theyre involved in. You point a finger at someone and you know what the Three Fingers are coming back at you. And this guy and the whole biden family, as pam bondi made obvious at the rnc, they all were bringing home the money to the biden family. Whether theyre building homes in saudi arabia or grabbing money from all over europe. And the Vice President threatening, if you dont stop investigating the company, where my son is on a board making millions, where he doesnt speak the language, doesnt know energy and doesnt know anything about the issue, then youre not going to get our taxpayers money. These people are corrupt. Its a crime family as far as im concerned. Maria yeah. No comment whatsoever from the Mainstream Media. Maybe they were talking about grandkids, the way bill clinton was talking about with loretta lynch, then sitting ag when they met three days before Hillary Clinton was to face off before the fbi and they met on a tarmac. Its all in your book, isnt it, judge . Check out the judges new book, dont lie to me and stop trying to steal our freedom. Its in stores now, right, judge in. Yes, it is. This week. And you you know what, its got all the footnotes you need to go back at those people who are lying to you, the truths right in there. Maria all right. We will pick it up. Judge, its good to see you this morning. Come back soon, judge janine. Well see you saturday and sunday night on justice. Kiki barber is here, well tk to him with the latest on the football season and the latest business venture. Youll want to hear about kiki barber the Small Businessman. Ahead on mornings with maria live on fox business. i need it so bad dont call it a hobby. Its way more than just a job. This is how we live every single day. Can we go and play . roaring of engines i needed to try needed to fall i needed your love im burning away i need never get old im burning away well look back and remember the moment that things, for one strange time in our lives, got very quiet. Some lost work and invented new ways to get by. Others were busier than ever, and found strength they never knew they had. We sheltered with the people who matter most, sometimes finding how far apart wed drifted. We worried over loved ones, over money, over our planet. And over takeout. And we found a voice one the noise out there had kept quiet. When the world starts spinning again, lets remember this time where none of us felt secure, and fight for a future where everyone can. Because when the world seems like its standing still. Thats the perfect time for us to change it. Maria welcome back. But it created a lot of relationships and so when mark gersen who founded the gersen group and we got together to form thusios seven years ago it gave us business connections and strategic investors, those who helped us stay and grow the way that we have over the last seven years and were excited about this and its obviously not where we were going but it is where we are going now. Maria very cool. Well, live has returned to football, tiki, thursday night football tonight. What are your thoughts on the nfl coming back . I think theyve done a great job. Just like the nba and its bubble of keeping players safe. Last weekend out of 3600 tests, we know there were no positives. It means something. But we also know that live sports are the lifeblood of some americans and pieces of americana. There was a ratings decline in week one. There are many reasons why that could have happened. You cant discount whats going on politically in the country. Football is such an emotional sport. I know there are hundreds of millions of people who are excited to have it back. Maria yeah. Talk about big business. There you go. Football. Tiki barber, jared, thank you so much. S. Policy from campaign american journalists have sfoiblt reloent lesley question joe biden about all in detail to call out attempts to coverup potentially criminal activity, of course, we havent had a word from Mainstream Media wisconsin senator chairman Governmental Affairs Committee Ron Johnson thanks very much for being here. Morning maria. Maria some of these payouts are just stunning, like the money that the former wife of former mayor moscow sent to hunter biden, i dont know what that was about, but lets go through the report and please go through the key findings what struck you most, in terms of the money that hunter biden accepted from these Foreign Countries Foreign Companies while his president was Vice President his father was Vice President rather. Sure, again, we never sought to target or go after bidens they put themselves in middle with hunters glaring conflict of interest joining board of burisma a couple months after ukraine has revolution dignity ridding ukraine of corruption a glaring conflict of interest Hunter Bidens fate 4. 2 Million Dollars businesses 4. 2 Million Dollars over 30 months, 140,000 dollars a month on 1. 7 Million Dollars per year pretty good gig if right last name lets face it this was all about, the owner of burisma trying to gain influence so charges gets in ukraine would be dropped. One thing notable that in kemps interview for committee pointed out sevenmilliondollar bribe was paid by burisma, seven months after hunters Hunter Archer joined board of Burisma Hunter biden joined supposedly to consult on Corporate Governance transparency, didnt do particularly good job, hop to russia 3 1 2 Million Dollars paid to the former wife of the now former mayor of moscow, the loan woman billionaire, in russia, got her billions through corrupt practices being mayors wife we had strange payment from kazakhstan 142,000 dollars by archer millions of flow between web of corporate dealings with chinese nationals had connections to communist government former affiliations with Peoples Liberation army helping around purchase and control by Chinese Business of a u. S. Auto manufacturer type of equipment to be used for military purposes by pla, such expansive scratching the surface no guarantee uncovered all it represents potential conflicts of interest, counterintelligence extortion with biden information. Unbelievable, 4. 2 Million Dollars coming from burisma you are talking about 3 1 2 Million Dollars coming from wife of the former wife of the former mayor of moscow talking about tens of millions of dollars coming from china, do you have evidence now you just said that there was allowance to acquire a company in michigan by avic, the Chinese Company provide to the military of china do you have evidence, that in fact, policy was changed by the biden Vice President or at the Obamabiden Administration in conjunction with payouts to hunter biden . Was policy changed . If first of all, hard to find smoking guns even more difficult when you cant get the documents, even out of you know, administration or state department that is supposedly controlled by republican president , the problem is just political point is top of organization but just right below that top layer you still have people loi aol to bidens, know where they are hidden pretty good hiding balls these transactions require approval, cfius, sometimes involve secretary of state approvals you were given to some of these transactions so trowelling we dont know full extent of Financial Transactions we need to dig into it maria what is amazing is the definiteening silence media they looked at report i dont think any read it but instead kind of said oh bunch old news because maybe one with news outlet one point finds, reported fact hunter had connections with china nothing new all kinds of new, very troubling pieces of information i am hoping our report will do is because we havent answered alled questions by a long shot we raised more questions than actually answered i am hoping people Start Connecting dots, weve information on internet investigator journalists beginning to connect dots with new information we provided. Maria we have been connecting dots here on sunday morning futures, on fox news, you know that, but what about an investigation . Did the former administration investigate any of this. No there again as far as we can tell there is only one person ne Obama Administration that actually talked to Vice President about it, george cant talk to staff but amos a special envoy over to ukraine actually did talk to Vice President about how troublgdz this was couldnt, by the way, led Vice President to set up meeting with amos to talk about this Vice President biden in end of the 2009 said never spoken to his son about overseas business dealings this sure sounds like a conversation probably with hunter biden about position on burismas board, i am sorry to say i have i think we caught Vice President in a lie, by the way, i never believed that would say true, how can you literally lie over to fly to china a multiple hour throughout to have hunter biden on air force two all those many hours hunter biden have his own agenda in m china included a handshake with Vice President with one of the business consults, how could you not, first question i have for Vice President , do you stand by your statement that you never spoke for hunter about overseas business in light of new information, i think, Vice President is going to have a really hard time explaining that, if you ever asked. And pressed on. That is the question, if he is ever asked, we have reached out to joe biden, many times, to join me on this program, and on sunday morning futures. He refuses to join me we will make the call again, when i get off the air today. To invite Vice President biden on the program with me, to discuss the election and more. Let me ask you about subpoenas, what about subpoenaing hunter biden or joe biden tone answer where are they to face questioning consequences, senator . I have already sent invitation to the attorneys hunter and devon archer, the President Trumps family Members Campaign staff did not require subpoenas whatsoever to come and subject themselves to transcribed interview, so hunter devon honestly open to Vice President as well, there is an innocent explanation for transacts we are happy to come listen to explanation the subpoenas you go down path legal predicted proceedings i want to conclude this investigation by end this have congress so American People, know with what happened they have right to know this, the subpoenas sounds like pretty good idea, can be powerful, but from my standpoint this auth th to create public pressure on hunter on devon on Vice President to start coming clean with American Public providing answers because, again, extortion counterintelligence, conflict of interest threats this information poses of would it be web of connections with foreign nationals countries not our friends. Maria we should pointed out john kerry sitting cabinet member his son was involved Hunter Bidens partner. Also point out that this it was burisma situation was such an awkward according to george awkward situation for everybody, everybody in u. S. Government trying to help ukraine out of corruption that john kerry five years later are 2019 when asked did you know anything about thank you hunter biden on burismas borrowed board he denied it briefed by chief of staff also talked to hunter about this john kerry also lied to the American People he denied that. Maria unbelievable weve got to jump quick, why is all of this taking so much time . Just like john durham investigation we know there is criminality here we annoy that there is wrongdoing here yet it takes forever in my new book out next month the cost, trump china and american revival i interviewed President Trump and i said to him mr. President what is the biggest thing youve learned as first time president from being a businessman he said to me deep corruption, there are people who are protected do you agree with that there are people just protected that you just cant investigate . Absolutely. This is probably most frustrating thing i tried to get to the truth. That is all i am trying to get to is truth th if wrongdoing American People need to know it if no wrongdoing they need understand that as well the fact you cant the president wants it the administration, the secretary of state, they want documents, we cant get them in a timely fashion not by a long stretch. You are still waiting on documents incredible senator thank you so much in all new book senat ron johnson we will see you soon, sir. Well be right back. Diane retired and opened that pottery studio. Very difficult economically, we are glad to have students back in, lifeblood of this community but like no other time we have ever experienced, very, very difficult. We have a general fund of 40 Million Dollars the end of the last fiscal year called back 2. 8 Million Dollars in anything we could cut capital projects, and we are projecting a loss of about 6. Million for the coming fiscal year, so we have startede done about everything to accommodate the situation short of cutting staff Cutting Services very close to the stretch right now. Sad state of affairs resident virginian Dagen Mcdowell. Dagen mayor, i grew up in virginia family still lives there southeast of lynchburg you are two hours from where i grew up my broe went to Virginia Tech by the way, what about getting is part of the problem the students who are there, who are on campus, not really willing to go out, so it is it about finding that fineline of encouraging people to pay local businesses in a patronize local businesses in a safe way that partly willingness he partly being fair, on theed to be very clear about the situation. We have put Emergency Powers in place so that we can continue to host the students that we love and university can continue functions but we need to do it safely, this will probably be our indefinite future i maintain ours nationally restaurants brewers operating 50 capacity to maintain social distancing, we have reduced allowable gatherings to lower than 50, then university imposed, limit of 15 we fell in line with that we the town, that is because we think it is very, very important to us to have consistent and yun formed messaging, very important in emergency situation. Dagen you like electric cars. Dagen i do, i drove for sometime it was a hybrid gas electric hybrid vehicle i will argue never goes through not on this timeline, is operating an electric vehicle in california more and more people operate them that much more costeffective electricity prices because of the changes in use of fossil fuels power electricity prices california 60 higher on average than rest of United States gone up much more dramatically recent years than the rest of the country is this really costefficient . And will it force the automakers to basically follow californias lead as has been the case for years . Hmm. Mark . Surprise surprise. More of the same from gavin newsom telling people how to give versus giving guidance forcing it down peoples to lets i can understand additional gas on gas an gas powered vehicled but how long . Look as a country we better may be sure our charged infrastructure is up to snuff i am never further than few miles from the gas station any point in cleveland nearest charged station 30 minutes away not going o get. It a really good point Health Human Services secretary aelection azar here to discuss where we are on vaccine, jobless claims on the other side of this break stay with us. Maria welcome back. Good thursday morning thanks very much for joining us. Im maria bartiromo. Thursday, september 24 an hour away from the opening bell now we are waiting on jobless claims, for the last week out any minute economists expecting 840,000 unemployment claims filed within last week, lets take a look at markets this morning await this number dow industrials down 73 points nasdaq down 98, this is low of the morning s p 500 down 13 points estimates to Cheryl Casone has numbers now, hitting the tape. Cheryl we do have on tape obviously, affecting a a little bit market initial estimate 840,000 we came in 870,000 initial claims week ending september 19, to continuing claims has been something economists have been tracking we were looking for 12. 3 million, little bit of a jump there, 12. 58 million going up to tally we have since march when lockdowns began 61. 9 million initial jobless claims part of the reemployment story businesses a lot of sale have actually felt pressure reopening not complete, again initial lefall in dow on numbers now back up and dow down excuse me down 110 right now back to you. Now hitting new lows cheryl, thank you so much dagen we have gotten to this point under a minimum enconsistently now but, nonetheless, this is a eliminate hotter than we wanted to see in unemployment claims. Dagen right continuing claims coming in higher than expectations, 12. 58 million however is a decline, slight decline from previous week, will this light a fire under the feet of nancy pelosi and democrats in congress to actually pass rescue money . Even businesses that have been able to reopen in large metropolitan areas like new york, for example, running at say business 60 or even more, less than a year ago, so open and operatinging surviving but theyve had to let people go, because theyre trying to cut costs dont know how long they can hang on if running at such low levels. Maria market is worsening here dow industrials down 124 points nasdaq down 121 on little weakerthanexpected report, from the Labor Department this morning unemployment claims. We will watch that we are looking at coronavirus, perhaps changing, a new study shows the coronavirus is mutating one mutation making virus more contagious, report did not find mutations make virus deadly or changing clinical outcomes joining me secretary of health and Human Services alex azar secretary a pleasure to talk with you thanks for being here. Good to see you again maria, thanks. Maria what is your take on mutations, report on coronavirus . Well were looking at nih cdc that data but i think the important thing for folks, is we dont see anything so far that would seem to indicate that that would impact Vaccine Development or safety efficacy of a vaccine one of the most important questions you would look to because we are seeing through this incredible progress the President Trumps operation warp speed seeing products convalescent lasma mon kronal antibodies showing very much a druggable virus that is very important as we do development programs. That is very, very good news, of course, we heard yesterday the news from. Dagen j j Johnson Johnson about one shot going into time stages what looks most promising to you right now secretary . The is it Johnson Johnson in is it pfizer, moderna what thank you tell us. I give you all the above the Johnson Johnson one is a great example how operation warp speed changed game of Drug Development harden eving entire power of the government to dry Faster Development allowing us to derisk financial risk of Drug Companies in march first working with j j said maybe we can get to initial phase one in september yesterday in stage three final trial single vaccine, good cold storage issues right now just data every vaccine all six vaccines working with are industrial scale manufacturing now we literally have millions of doses already weve had several report out phase one results i think j j said they are going to report out phase one results on that trial, so, i am very optimistic about where we are headed in terms of vaccine progress and momocronal. Amazing how have they done this i know the president has tried to lead the agencies in terms of taking away bureaucracy lowering barriers to moving through fda what enabled them to comply with warp speed that the president is asking for . You know, the president exhibition immediate to pick a things go faster than normal drug company time lines would be, as you know, my background i spent a good deal of time, at a drug company i know how this works we were able to design a system where we can relieve the critical barrier to development by pharmaceutical companies the financial risk. Putting the power of the u. S. O government behind this i have derisked Development Process phase one you normally do phase one trials, then after you get results start planning for phase two you dont want to run risk of money i can derisk that because we are government we plan all of them literally moved from phase one to two, two to three, in 24 hours because that is all mapped out lance logistics done everything, same with manufacturing, nobody would ever be making commercial Scale Production of vaccine while you are still in the beginning stages of Clinical Trials we are doing that because we can invest we have redundant manufacturing quality, even in phase three producing millions tens of millions of doses fda Gold Standard before it goes into anybodys arm. Amazing dr. Anthony fauci told congress u. S. Should have enough covid19 vaccine doses for every american by april fauci said growing optimism by vaccine end of year or early 2021 your thoughts what you heard from fauci yesterday in terms of should a what you are thinking every american will have access by april 2021 . Youve got priorities to give to First Responders first in terms of the vaccine right that is the way you see it . Yes, so, just to be clear on timelines everyone will say things from their perspective all the same, i will give you the definitive statement what have were doing, pfizer moderna say we may see, may see data as along as late october that the point to them out of independent data safety monitoring board would review determine if sufficient to submit for application for authorization, we believe that by december we will have as by end of december we will have as money as 1 as many as 100 million doses vaccine fda approved target that vaccine fishly most vulnerable in january continuing to produce hundreds of millions doses further getting to all seniors, health care workers, First Responders, as you said, then by end of marchapril we would have enough vaccine plenty for all americans and we would, of course, be vaccinating as we go not stockpiling it so just rolling vaccination programs to prioritize groups through an incredible Distribution System already exists would be putting this into. Maria . President trump is going to be speaking on his Health Care Vision for the country this afternoon, there are reports that say he is planning to announce Health Care Related executive orders including one meant to safeguard insurance protections for preexisting conditions if Supreme Court rolls back obama care what are you expecting from the president s speech. I will be traveling down there with him going to be a really big announcement, really the president s agenda, on health care which is bigger than obama care Everyone Wants to talk about obama care a sliver of health care. This president has done more for all 331 million Americans Health care than any recent president focused on better care, more choices, and lower costs, it is consistent with the last four years what he has been doing bringing transparency so people shop for services get legislator cost have more choice put them in drivers set a protecting preexisting conditions, lowering drawing costs intrackable issues ending the epidemic curing sickle cell anemia big, bold announcements next steps across entire health plan for all americans better choices o lower cost. Different topic on flu shot do you agree important to get a flu shot this year not going to do anything for covid . Actually maria it is vital that people get flu vaccinations we have up to 200 million doses vaccine President Trump asked us work with manufactures to ensure we have more than what he had in recent years important that you get vaccinated because we want you as healthy as possible we want you to not suffer from flu or if you get flu reduce consequences of it what the flu vaccine does for you, because we want you as healthy a position in event you might have to confront covid it is really important, plus we are aggressively trying to get people vaccinated for flu it is sort of a dry run for Covid Vaccination frankly helps tackle some partisan attacks have a got in birthday with Antivax Movement talking about covid vaccine. Thank you, maria. W. But, we have aunts. Youre slouching again, ted. Expired, expired. Expired. Thanks, aunt bonnie. Its a lot of house. I hope you can keep it clean. Maria welcome back ice on banks several global banks under fire reports detail they moved large sums of illicit funds did he site origins of the money chief Investment Officer kyle bass, kyle get ato great to see you. Thank you so much for joining us, the banks, have been under pressure because of this Money Laundering, situation, i want to i want to get your take on this i want to move into what they are also doing in terms of preparing for the big chinese debut of the ant group. Good morning goods to be with you i think the the leak of the reports the reporters spearheading this have done a great job bringing to light, this this idea of looking at the potential criminal activity of banks, and how they might interface with problems of state. Problems in state, we know that they are going to try to do as much business as they can we havent heard any comments from banks, who blew off all Money Laundering rules we will get to that is what your take on asking about cracking down on china, what is your take on this new ipo that is coming outgoing public in hong kong, all major banks want a piece of this lifting you know that kyle you talked to Goldman Sachs Morgan Stanley jpn want to do business probably largest ipo weve seen public in hong kong does this legitimizes China Capital structure talking about for years in terms of trying to get waive with lifting on u. S. Exchanges and not following the rules. Maria great question you are one of the few journalists out there that really understands workings of what is going on i think important to know that what the secretary of state and administration have been doing here in the United States, they have been doing a yeomans job after huawei, tiktok, wechat those are valiant battles we need to be fighting but were losing the war only way that we are going to lets say level the playing field, and get china to act as a responsible global actor stop the fraud and deceit lies, theft we need to start sanctioning their bad financial activity stop sanctioning. Our Investment Bank are becoming beijing banks Everyone Wants a piece of every deal in financial essentially arm of chinese government, chinas ambitions laid out clearly in xi jinpings speeches, what weve got to do is weve got to start sanctioning banks for bad behavior, maria look back at hs. Butc 2012,s we found out hsbc laubdering money for sinaloa cartel. Twobilliondollar fine slapped them on wrist they moved on kau believe no one was criminally indicted they laundered money for entire drug network not one person or bank was indicted. Unbelievable, you are not seeing any focus on this sw whatsoever in immediate in certainly Mainstream Media look i had a conversation this week with Larry Ellison chairman oracle trying to get this deal done with walmart to acquire a majority stake in Tiktok Global will be new company after a transaction, to take the chinese ownership down then ipo, Larry Ellison told me that when all is said and done americans will own 53 japanese will own 11 but my question kept being what will chinese own . We know right now that tiktok, is saying we dont know if we can do a deal we have to ask ll regulators in china if anybody is questioninging who is in charge of tiktok you know they are going to Chinese Communist party to ask permission to export anything to United States this is in limbo right now what is your take on tiktok being acquired aoracle walmart if china still has Something Like a 30 stake in that new Tiktok Global . As to i think there are two again i am not expert, in the technical aspects of the deal but i think two key components of the deal have to remain in the United States. Number one is Larry Ellison needs to control that algorithm as it faces mostly children of the United States, algorithm must be controlled, by United States, number two, the data, from all you users cant go to beijing so we need keep data keep algorithm the fact that Larry Ellison merged as leader gives me incredible amount of confidence because unlike, almost all ceos, in the silicon valley, look to basically pack bottom line complete disregard for u. S. National security Larry Ellison one of the few ceos in our country that actually cares about u. S. National security and making a buck, and i think he runs his life like that, and so, the fact that Larry Ellison is person in charge if it happens, brings me a lot of comfort. I agree with you on that Larry Ellison has been a patriot, unlike google walked away from doing business with department of defense because their employees complained didnt want to could business they walk away from project maven they have got a. I. Lab in beijing just mindboggling all companies to being do business with china while china is abusingiths Chinese Communist party new report from guardian china has built nearly 400 detention camps in xinjiang region from lowest security reeducation camped to fortified prisons last two years as chinese authorities continue to say oh these are rerejection camps skepticism is winding down anyway weve got australian think tank saying that today guardian reporting construction continued despite beijing claims of reeducation system winding down weve got video of uighur muslim minorities being handcuffed walking along with blindfolds on eyes reactionary. Our intelligence agencies believe up to three million ethnic wugers to concentration camps three million, whether one million to three Million People in concentration caverns in xinjiang there are other regions of china tibet mongolia basically china commits ethnic genocide through concentration camps, you know, i saw after world war ii we said never again you know what . People cant wait to do business chasing el dorado, trying to earn a buck in china, so, there is a huge disconnect between wall street, and those people that really care, about human rights, the most interesting thing to me about this morning maria one quick thing. Maria real quick. What . The there is only approximate here . Nah. Here . Nope. Here. When the middle of nowhere. Is somewhere. The allnew chevy trailblazer.
