More record highs that we are looking at, very close too it where the markets closed yesterday. What is powering the market even though as we have shutdown in place and even the fight about stimulus going on continuing in washington . Dominick if somebody would have told me 2 or 3 months ago that the virus would still be here and s p would be hitting alltime high id say youre out of your mind but we have a lot of liquidity, money market funds sitting between 4 and 5 trillion, Bank Deposits are at alltime high in part due to stimulus that came out of washington. We have low Interest Rates and a lot of people got out the market as we talked in past shows and fear of missing out and started to pile back in. Theres a lot of liquidity and cash coming into the markets, maybe not time. Maria steve forbes, jump in here. Steve even though harris is being portrayed as moderate only mad rate by farleft of democrats and when are the markets going to include tax increase and the democrats could win the white house and could win the senate, that cant be good for the markets, when are they going to factor the negatives in . If you look at those kinds of numbers, we are probably 20 multiple. Clearly we saw the Trump Administration when they cut Corporate Taxes. If we saw significant capital gain tax increase, talking about significant Corporate Tax increase, earnings would have to go down. Its just math and the multiples get out of hand. I think as we approach november and the election people will start really looking at these kind of numbers and readjust earnings and thats when they focus on it. We will get a little closer. Do you think maybe wall street hasnt really come to a belief that joe biden and Kamala Harris will win this thing . Is that why you think markets start getting unnerved about these policies, the 2 trilliondollar Green New Deal. Medicare for all, higher taxes, defund the police, are all of these things going to start becoming a market mover once wall street expects them to win . Do you think wall street understands or has an expectation of who is going to win the election yet . Dominick i dont think theyre put full weighing on it. Weve all seen the polls. Looks like biden will win this thing and maybe by a large amount but i think the polls are dead wrong. I speak to clients every day all over the country. Jimmy, thank you so much for joining us. First off, are you okay . Can you tell us what happened to you . Well, i was i was taken by the police handcuffed day before yesterday and detained me for 48 hours. The charge is under the law collusion with foreign powers and all that because of, you know, because interviews that i had and all that, so thats it. I dont know what happened. I was very surprised that they they let me have a bail out. I thought that i wouldnt have the bail until the trial. Thats something that is to let them out but i was not afraid of being sent to china because when the police came to my house, like 20 of them inside. I dont know how many outside. None of them speak mandarin, they are all Hong Kong Police, so i was at least we assured that they wont take me to china. The Hong Kong Police is still at least in control of the National Security department and that was it. I dont know what is going to happen later. I dont know what the charge will be, but whatever comes, it will be okay, you know. Im ready for it. Maria so just to be clear, they did not take you across the border to china because this new National Security law allows them to do such that, its so openended and broad base that they could take you across the border and torture you. Did they do that to you, jimmy . No, no. They took me to the station and put me in the temporary Holding Place for overnight and they did treat me quite politely, you know, because i was a criminal. But the treatment of criminal, they have been very polite and i was not mistreated, no. Maria so do you fear that this could be the case in the future, jimmy . Tell me what they told you and what your plans are after this. What is this the third or fourth arrest, jimmy, at this point . Well, i think that that this charge will last a long time. I think the most important intention for them is to, you know, so to retain hong kong, allow me to travel because i was a case coming up on the 23rd, 22nd and 23rd, so, you know, that case is issue is a charge that i dont think that, you know, i dont think that i will lose, so if i win the case, they would have to let me out. I was actually quite surprised that they arrest me so quick because, you know, i thought they would realize that in hong kong was a blunder given strong action from the International Community and also, you know, a lot of Business People sentiment in hong kong according to a poll, recent poll that 30 of Business Leaders are moving this is a way from hong kong and 40 of them are thinking of immigrateing. Immigration. Maria right. The whole Financial Center that they still treasure because 65 all but direct investment in hong kong in china has to be executed in hong kong because of the new law here that they get protection. You know, but maybe they think that, you know, they need to have the law, the National Security law active but not common, so they have to act to make sure people realize that the law, the law will be enact but after that they will let the law make sure that that they appease the Business People and International Community so nothing changes and hong kong goes on before and i think this is the intention. The reason they arrest me is to make sure that everyone understands that intimidation is alive and is there. Any time they need to, i think this is the reason they arrest me. Maria yeah, but thats the point, the law is still in place and they can do whatever they want at any time at another time. We have hong kongers gathering at shopping malls overnight to demand press freedom. The people are still on the streets, tell me what you want to see from the International Community. This has become china versus the free world. Youre seeing what theyve done in terms of invading india, trying to target the islands in japan, militarizing the South China Sea and overreaching in hong kong. Have you seen the the response from the International Community . We are going to be speaking with President Trump in a couple of minutes. Hes coming on live in about an hour in this program. What do you want President Trump to understand about the situation you find yourself in, jimmy . Well, i think the National Community has done they are waking up to china that they say is very different from what they expect. I think the whole world, the free world is waking up to it. So, you know, waking up to it and they know how to deal with it because we need china as a partner in the world because this is beneficial to the world, both to the world and china. The only thing we need is to have china assimilate into the values to have world and they have to realize that. I think the International Community has to make sure china will have to understand that when they deal with outside world, they have to deal with the civilized west values. Its not the values because china is becoming so big and will be biggest economy in the world. We have to make sure that they understand that to deal with the world and the world can only keep peace and china becomes a peaceful partner and i think thats what the world has to let china know. Maria yeah, but but at the same time theyre not following the International Rules of the road, jimmy. They are disappearing people, they are stealing intellectual property and they are breaking promises in terms of militarizing the South China Sea and invading other counties, so what is it going to take for china to Start Playing by the rules of the International Fairness of the road . I think they realize that they are now facing 40 years of what have allowed them to prosper and make business. Thats why recently you can see that the rhetoric has become more [laughter] on the reference, you know. They become more and try to reconcile with the world and i think this is a good sign. I hope that they just go onto realize that, you know, china is, you know, a poor country and 600 Million People still earning a thousand rmb which is 130. They cant have the ambition to dominate the world. They have the follow the rules of the world and they will become prosperous and big and be welcomed by the world and thats good for china, thats good for china and thats good for the world. I think they have to realize that. I think that mr. Trump can talk to them and have them realize that. Maria yeah, tell us whats happening on the ground in hong kong, jimmy, the way you see it. In the last couple of weeks before you were detained, what does the sentiment feel like on the ground in hong kong right now . Tell the rest of the world what youre seeing. I think the National Security law has definitely have had intimidation on the people. Its all quiet. People, you know, are thinking of immigrations. I talk to people. Parttime people are thinking about about immigration and act strongly to my arrest and the reaction of the city was overwhelming, you know, and and i you know, people were very angry, so you know that people, they are not accepting this but they are staying because they cannot do anything because the National Security law is so draconian and any time they can take you to china for 10 years or for life. Thats something very dreadful and a lot of people are very afraid even those executives who were arrested with me, some of them came back with me really shaken. They were very afraid, you know. So, you know, people are really scared now. Maria do you think do you think that china will change . Do you think that china will understand that the rest of the world, the free world will not tolerate this behavior . Well, i hope they can because a lot is at stake especially in china, okay, you know, but its difficult for them to change, you know, especially when i know xi jinping is the president. He wants to bring china back to the old kind and all of the control that hes increasing is exactly the way that they were controlling the country. They know that now. How they come out with it, we dont know. Maria but the Chinese Government has elevated the Chinese Government has elevated xi jinping that mao had which is dictator for life. Is that when everything changed, jimmy . Well, unless they change xi jinping which is not impossible because xi jinping the whole country is facing problems.
