Joe biden, Vice President , is sort of sticking around his house in delaware at this time. He has come out of the basement there, but he is staying around and not doing the rally type thing. Heres i want to say what you just said about waiting for potential news to come in. Talking about a lot of spending here, and youve got to be able to curtail that and pay for it with the spending weve already done thats necessary to get us out of the coronavirus. Elizabeth yeah. Reporter if you add both of those together, its a huge amount of money. Elizabeth and stay on the coronavirus for a second because the Vice President , biden, is trying to attack the president on the covid19 response. But politico writing a story saying, wait a second, the Obama Administrations swine flu response in 2009 was not state of the art, was not pictureperfect. They shut down testing flat out in the middle of it. A biden adviser now, he was with the Biden Administration saying they got lucky. They missed, quote, a mass casualty event with swine flu in 2009. Im not, you know, the question is can joe biden go after the president on covid19 when the Obama Administration is getting attacked for poor vaccine response, stopping funding, stopping testing for swine flu in 2009 . And you saw that on the screen. You guys are are showing that the Obama Administration just abruptly stopped testing for h1n1 in the swine flu. And that would inevitably lower the numbers that you have related to the number of cases, you know, falling short of a pandemic for the swine flu. But, you know, experts around the globe point back to h1n1, also the swine flu both coming out of china to the rest of the world as something, you know, as sort of a framework that they look at how the coronavirus which is more, which is more, it spreads more quickly and possibly could be more deadly than those two. But, again, they look back at that and they see that, you know, the pandemic sort of, it comes through countries like this, and it depends on how open and honest those countries are. I dont think many people think anything out of Schiff Adam Schiff says. Remember all the things he told us that he was going to prove during the whole trumprussia, during the whole impeachment, during all those, both of those hoaxes, both of those sagas. And, you know, here we go again. Actually, you know, if you follow some of the mainstream press, youd think yesterday was a bad day for the president , but in actual terms it really wasnt. Because neither the congress, nor the new York District attorney are going to have access to the president s tax records anytime soon. And so overall, i think in sort of practical terms it wasnt a bad day at all for the president with the Supreme Court. Elizabeth you know, there have been 80, 80 different probes, the subpoena cannon has has been fired by the democrats for a long time. The Supreme Court has said you have to have a legislative reason to get tax returns. Whats a legislative reason for these 80 different proposes that the probes . You know, great point, liz. And that look, the Oversight Authority and power of the congress is broad, and its pretty expansive, but there has to be but it still has to be a legitimate legislative purpose, and you have to counter that. This is what the court talked about, you have to counter that, obviously, with another separate and equal branch of the federal government, i. E. , the executive branch. I thought the court was pretty clear on that, and it told the president that he also has recourse, can go back to court and on other grounds challenge some of the decisions that the court made. So, again, i think it was pretty good. I think its also important to step back and think about what was going on. The average american petrified of being audited by the irs, but what the democrats, if they had their way, its not the irs auditing the president , it would be pelosi, schiff and Maxine Waters auditing the president. And if that is, that is scary when you think about it. So the president exactly right, his Legal Counsel in fighting this. Well see how it all shakes out here down the road. Elizabeth yeah. Theres an important broader context here. Its about abuse of power. Do we want to live in a country where the irs can be used to attack, intimidate and basically threaten political to opponents. I mean, heres the other thing, should only president s have to release their tax returns, or should all lawmakers too . Listen to nancy pelosi on this. If i decided to run for president , i would most certainly release my tax returns. Elizabeth so what do you think of all that . Whats your take the first thing i would say, thats a scary thought. Thats as bad as joe biden. Look, we dont want the federal government going after anybody. We want equal treatment under the law. Remember it was just a few years ago when the Obama Administration used the irs to systematically the same period of time target people who were against obamacare and all the crazy spinning under president obama. They went after tea e party groups. We dont want that. We just lived through, and were still living through this. Michael flynns still not out of the woods with what the obamacomey cabal, the Obama Administration did when they went after the Trump Campaign. Never forget this fact, 38 different people between election day 2016 and Inauguration Day 2017, 38 different people 49 separate times una masked flynns name. Comey, clapper, brennan, biden did it as well. And yet when those people were interviewed under oath in front of the intelligence committee, every single one of them said there was no predicate for launching the information in the first place. So they launched an investigation where they said there was no evidence of collusion or coordination between the Trump Campaign and russia to impact the election, had no evidence of that and yet 49 separate times they unmasked Michael Flynns name, and Michael Flynn has had to live with this for three and a half years and still not out of the woods even though everyone in this country knows hes innocent. Thats how bad this is when you use the government to target people, and thats why john durhams investigation is so darn important.
