While the attorney general says potential crimes by members of the deep state are under investigation, it seems to be happening at an extraordinarily slow pace even by doj standards established by the obama presidency. Ive not yet been interviewed by any of these individuals involved in this matter. Lou its unclear when attorney general barr what attorney general barr is achieving by taking such measured, laboredded actions. It is his department of justice, however, that seemingly continues to play cover for the deep state. Refusing to prosecute former fbi director james comey for leaking memos with classified information, refusing to charge former fbi Deputy Director and thenacting director andy mccabe for lying to investigators, and it was barr who praised former Deputy Attorney general Rod Rosenstein despite rosenstein helping to launch the mueller witch hunt which was fraudulent from the very beginning. And he also played a role in the sweetheart plea deal for former senate aide james wolf. Wolf did serve just two months in prison, leaking the carter page fisa warrants to the leftwing media. President trump, who has said he believes everyone involved in the efforts to overthrow his presidency should be going to jail. He had this reaction to his attorney generals comments just moments ago. I think obama and biden knew about it. They were participants. But, so im a little surprised by that statement. But if it was me, i guarantee theyd be going after me. In his case, theyre not, so i think its just the continuation of a double standard, no doubt, that obama and biden were involved. And as to whether or not it was criminal, i would think it would be very serious, very, very serious. It was a takedown of a president regardless of me, it happened to be me, and in my opinion, it was an illegal takedown. But im going to let the attorney general make all of those decisions. I think it exposes the fact the Justice Department never has been criminally investigating biden or obama. Now we know mr. Brennan, its been reconfirmed that he hasnt been questioned either. You know, lou, ive been telling you that there is no serious criminal investigation with Senior Leadership of the obama administration. We have confirmation of that from attorney general barr. And barr takes the typical, unfortunately, republican approach that we dont do anything controversial during election years. And so Hillary Clinton gets lou why is a free card during 2016, now hes going to give it to biden. Its extraordinary. If i were the president , i would the president should recognize the Justice Department aint gonna do justice. He needs to appoint a special counsel outside the Justice Department to figure out if any prosecutions need to be pursued. It cant coming it isnt coming from this crew right now. Lou and what crew could be assembled that would form a special counsel that isnt already sold out to the establishment, isnt already sold out to the deep state and, by the way, when i say the establishment, im talking about both Political Parties. And as you point out, the republicans have played fools. This attorney general wants to be very careful of this election. Was anyone very careful in 2018 as the democrats stole the Midterm Election by pushing the special counsel the entire effort to overthrow the presidency of President Trump . I mean, this is outrageous. And to be behave is inexplicably as a dullard, i dont understand what this attorney general thinks hes accomplishing. Is he somehow preserving some sort of claim of innocence for when he meets at the dining room of his Favorite Club in washington . Is he afraid of the swamp . What in hell is going on here . And this comes as the democrats are telling the Supreme Court in a brief filed today that theyre still pursuing impeachment against the president of the United States. Look, biden the um peoplement of impeachment of trump was about protecting biden from being investigated over his burisma dealings and the china deal. Is barr ruling that out in terms of investigation . It sure sounds that way. It is exceedingly frustrating, and ive been long convinced that if the president wants justice, hes going to have to do it himself meaning he cant rely on these deep state agencies. He can appoint special counsel, investigators outside of the Justice Department to do this, outside of the fbi to do this. We shouldnt be surprised lou where are you going to find an honest, where are you going to find an honest attorney right now in the United States . Answer that. We have one representative , you have one representing general flynn, for instance. Lou okay. I agree. Where else are you going to find [inaudible conversations] the point im making, tom, is the judiciary is corrupt as well. Judge sullivan, you go through the list. Right. Lou what this president has had to put up with from the federal judiciary is plain and simple subversion. Straightforward, una abashed and in our faces. What he has had to put up with from the department of justice, none of this is new to you, but the reality is that our legal system and im including most of the attorneys in this country who are practicing law before the federal bar are scared to death to speak straightforwardly about a Federal District court judge. They tremble, most of them. There are exceptions and rare ones, and we applaud them. But with, my god, what were dealing with in this country right now, as you say, i mean, the house judiciary proceeds with its impeachment inquiry, and we have an attorney general stand up and say, well, you know what . Thats just fine, run over me like the door mat that i intend to play by going into the president ial elections in november. This is madness. And it is, basically, an invitation to more subversion. And theyre, they are literally still protecting the whole gang. Theyre hiding text messages, theyre hiding emails, theyre slowwalking the release of emails. The state department is hiding the burisma documents on biden and everything that went on with the ukraine conspiracy against President Trump. And right now they were they still are the defending Hillary Clinton, believe it or not. So its no surprise that the Justice Department is defending the president s persecutors, theyre suggesting that they wont do anything serious in terms of criminal prosecution. Oh, there may be an fbi agent here or there whos prosecuted, maybe mr. Strzok, maybe mr. Kleinsmith lou but youre talking about [inaudible conversations] youre talking about hypotheticals. Times wasting. Lou yeah. Frankly, im concerned that the time as has passed, that winter was the time to begin prosecutions, and now its going to be, oh, no, you cant do it in the middle of the political season. Its lou barr does not [inaudible conversations] go ahead. Yeah. This is why you got independent oversight. I mean, Judicial Watch is doing it foias to try to get documents out. Grenell did a great job getting unmasking material out. That wasnt going to come out because of the Justice Department. The flynn 302s and the hidden documents, exculpatory evidence wasnt voluntarily released by the Justice Department. It was because Sidney Powell forced the Justice Department to release it, and theyre still sitting on their hands go ahead. Lou this is a corrupt judiciary. This is a corrupt Justice Department. This is a corrupt fbi. This is, as the president famously said in his campaign for the office he holds and, by the way, as he contends against this conspiracy to overthrow him he said its crooked. The system is crooked. You have an attorney general thats bright enough, i do believe, to understand that inaction is a definitive statement about the outcome in november that he is making. And that is that he will not stand up for truth, for justice, accountability and do his damn job as an attorney general. He is sitting there talking about he doesnt want to influence the election. That isnt his damn job. His job is to bring justice and to prosecute evildoers, and he is surrounded by them. And to be clear, there is strong evidence that barack obama and joe biden were involved in, a, a conspiracy to obstruct justice and, b, a conspiracy to and misuse classified information for improper if purposes under the law. So the idea theres no evidence of criminality, i think, shows that the Justice Department wasnt interested in figuring it out to begin with. China just doesnt seem to understand, however, that they are now on the verge of fullon economic war with more than 120 nations who are aligned with the United States who are demanding a full and complete investigation of the origins of the wuhan virus and the actions of the communist chinese government. Beijing is also paying a higher price for its actions than it has acknowledged in any form or forum. We learned today that china has sealed off some 108 million of its citizens in the countrys northeast region. They are back under lockdown amid fears of a new and growing contagion of the wuhan virus in that region. The virus also has created a disaster economically for china that has been shielded mostly from the world, but new data shows in the month of january and february chinas Industrial Production dropped 13. 5 . As you know, we had been at economic war with china all of my life, and weve been in a is soft power competition with china for decades. President trump is already the first president to acknowledge it, to do something about it with better trade deals, and now with coronavirus bringing to light how much of a threat our economys entanglement with chinas economy is, the American People are demanding more out of our leaders including the president and myself, other members of congress. And the president is reacting to that in a way that i greatly appreciate. Lou yeah, i think that we all both acknowledge and appreciate the president s leadership. It is also, though, i think very clear that some of his ad visors are trying to advisers are trying to move him in a different direction. For example, suddenly after saying that he would consider withdrawing all funding, the white house makes it known that the, there will be partial funding. This is, to me, outrageous. Either its almost a repetition of the huawei sanctions. This, there is a halfhearted approach by parts of this administration that are in such great conflict amongst, as a result of the conflict, amongst some of his top add visors. Its unseemly, it is not good policy, and its sure as well not what this president ran on when he was elected. No doubt, lou, there are some members of the administration who have not served the president well when it comes to addressing the china threat. But at the end of the day, the buck stops with the president , and hes following through come through on so many of his promises to hold china accountable. This is becoming quickly a binary choice. Youre either with china and the Chinese Communist party, or youre with the United States of america. And whats become painfully clear to the American People is that when it comes to republicans and this president , were doing something about it. Were focused on the china threat. Thats why Kevin Mccarthy set up the China Task Force. We invited democrat to participate with us, and they chose instead to retreat away from doing anything about it at all because theyre far more focused with attacking the president and turning a blind eye to the china threat than they are doing something about it. And thats why im glad that the president recognizes that further funding for International Organizations who are also entangled with chinas to the debt are limit of the United States interests to the detriment of the United States, the president gets that as well as anybody. I think hes made clear that hes on the right side withholding lou forgive me, congressman. You just used an expression i havent heard in a while. He gets this. This president let me be clear, this president , as you just pointed out, has been leading on china from the very beginning, for years before he was elected. But suddenly were looking at a president who has conflict advisors, and theyre trying to turn the most, in my opinion, the greatest president in the countrys history, theyre trying to turn him aside from a direct threat to this nation. And no games can be plaid. I mean, the idiot who came up with the idea that instead of cutting off funding to a, by the way, entangled organization . That organization is owned lock, stock and barrel, were talking about the World Health Organization doing the bidding of president xi. It is now an ally of what is effectively an enemy state. My god, the republicans have got to wake up. We dont i mean even biden can sit there and talk about this silliness of saying were going to fund the World Health Organization at the same level of china instead of doing what is dramatically necessary the first idea they had, which was to create a global Health Organization that is aligned with u. S. Commitments to democracy and a free society. My god, what in the world is going on . And the Republican Party cant figure out in the Senate Whether to run with him or against him, apparently. The Republican Party, its one thing to be cowardly, but to be cowardly and stupid . They need to start listening to ronna mcdaniel. Some certainly follow the leadership of President Trump. Well, youre right, lou, and thats why republicans in the house have tried to create a road are map to tackle these issues with the China Task Force, making it a top priority of republicans in the house. I applaud Kevin Mccarthys leadership in putting that task force together. We want to work with this president to hold china accountable because the American People more than ever are demanding it. Theyre demanding that their leaders do something about this so we never go through what were going through today ever again. And dont allow the chinese to take advantage of america while our economy is on its knees exactly like their designs are to do. Is so republicans in the house are doing everything that we can, i believe, lou, with all due respect to the china pastassing force to put together a road map to do just that. Army, retired fourstar general, fox business senior strategic analyst. Jack, why in the world would this be out in public . What would be the motivation . Well, somebody, somebody leaked that war game which is a classified war game, you know, to the london times. But theres been a lot of evidence similar to that, i was on a Congressional Commission that we concluded in 2018 that if we fought a war with china given current assets that they have and what we have, the casualties would be very high, a lot of loss of capital assets. Wed be challenged to win, indeed, we could lose. And the commander in charge of our forces in the pacific has said the same thing since the day he took over, and theres a whole bunch of other think tanks that have done studies that say the same thing. What does all of that really mean . Well, first of all, war games dont mean whos going to win a war, because they dont measure the skill and the will of the people that are fighting and the political will of the people who are leading. Secondly, its much about what capabilities the opposing forces have. And i think what we have to take serious out of this is not so much we would lose a war, china doesnt want to fight a war with the United States. That would take president xi off every goal hes trying to achieve, lou. That would be an absolute recipe for disaster. But what we have to recognize is because of the 9 11 wars, because of she questionsation, because of sequestration, because of dod being lethargic and along with the congress and defeating an enemy like Saddam Hussein in a conventional war, we have not upgunned to the degree that we should and match what the chinese and russians are doing so they cant take advantage of us. Now, the good news is from the p budget is moving in the right direction. Esper is all over this with the chairman of joint chiefs, millie. They know what we need to do, the capabilities we needed to do, but theyre going to need the congress to help them because the Congress Wants to hold on to legacy systems that all of their tickets out there, and they districts out there, and they wont let the military dump them and get the weapons that we need with advanced technology. Thats some of the help were going to need here. Lou and theres some very specific issues as well. There is recruitment for our military and how to improve the potential force size for the United States. We look at aircraft, we look at ships, and there is a woeful need to replace aging equipment whether theyre ships, theyre aircraft, whatever it may be, weapons systems, and we are not seeing a a fullon effort to produce, to build, to manufacture those ships, those aircraft at a rate that is desperately needed by the u. S. Military. Is that a correct statement . Yeah, thats a correct statement. What the lethargy that we got into is we want, were improving legacy systems. Thats not going to cut it with hypersonic missiles, long range antiship missiles that the chinese have. They can cut us down before we actually get started. So we need better missile defense, and we need like systems ourselves. Now, were moving in that direction, lou, but were also spending a ton of money on stuff that we dont need.
