Tripledigit move higher after Research Found that the Gilead Sciences drug remdesivir had positive effects in helping patients recover for quickly. President trump and dr. Anthony fauci spoke out on finding the efforts to get the drug approved by the fda. I want them to go as quickly as they can. Theres never been anything like it and, yeah, we want everybody to be safe but we do we would like to see very quick approvals. Data shows that remdesivir has quickcut significant positive effect in diminishing the time to recovery. Whenever you have clearcut evidence that a drug works, you have ethical obligation to immediately let the people who are in the Placebo Group so they can have access. Maria gilead has said that it would manufacture and donate 1 and a half million doses to hospitals by the end of may. Thats about 200,000 treatment courses. The company ceo says that 50,000 treatment courses are already prepared to ship once that drug is approved. Joining me right now senior biotech analyst, tyler, also joining the conversation fox business Dagen Mcdowell, Payne Capital management president ryan payne and New York PostEditorial Board member kelly torrence. Thank you very much for joining us. Taylor, lets kick it off with you. Give us your thoughts on remdesivir . What do you think about the strength here in terms of treating covid19 . Yeah, thanks for having me, maria, good morning. So over the past couple of months we got a number of case reports and anecdotes and News Headlines but no clear evidence from randomized Clinical Trials. Yesterday was momentous day because we received data from 3 randomized Clinical Trials from gilead and niad, nih, what we are see ago cross the aisle the majority of patients are getting discharged relative to some control arms where patients are taking up to 15 days. So youre seeing a several day improvement in terms of time to clinical improvement. Youre also seeing some trends in mortality but its early, youre seeing less time on ventilation and several other meaningful benefits, so its quite clear that remdesivir is reducing viral load and improving clinical outcomes in the patients and based upon the data, i think theres going to be a ton of pressure for the fda to approve this drug, at least under an accelerated pathway as soon as possible. Maria are there other drugs that you could name that are close to this kind of success rate as remdesivir . Give us your thoughts on what happens when you have a situation where we are in right now, massive man pandemic waiting on a vaccine and here you have a company with success. Does that triggers others successes . I think it does. The antivirals will be the first to be approved and they work in acute fashion and we are using drug that is we have on hand and applying them for covid19 patients. Vaccines are clearly going to take much longer. With respect to antivirals remdesivir appears to be most potent antiviral and most impressive Clinical Data generated to date and theres Clinical Data. We would expect it to get approved soon. President trump called it a Building Block. Clearly this is something that you can build upon combined with other agents that are potentially used to treat the inflammation that leads to respiratory distress and other consequences to have disease. Maria Dagen Mcdowell. Dagen taylor, i was watching tony fauci yesterday in the oval office when he started talking about this drug and tears were running down my face because i could see based on the look on his face and the look of dr. Debbie birx when they were talking about the trial, the quote that really jumped out at me was that its proof he said that a drug can block this virus, and he started talking about and looking at dr. Birx talking about azt and it wasnt a terrific drug but it was the first Building Block and then it was another drug and another drug and another drug that basically led to people being able to live in a full life with hiv. What is the next step, the next Building Block . I know that remdesivir, i believe blocks in enzymes, but are other drugs that will build on base case, the standard that all other drugs will be judged by. What are the other drugs that are maybe in the works that would extend what we already know about remdesivir . Yeah, so remdesivir is part of a class of analogues which blocks the ability for the virus to replicate but theres multiple different steps in the viral replication process that are required for it to continue to replicate in the body and infect the patient and cause damage and so just like hiv they started with one mechanism or one class of antivirals and they added on multiple over time and now what youre seeing with hiv patients, they use multiple antivirals to keep down dedirectable detectable levels or at least continue to improve clinical outcomes over time. Maria tyler, great to get your input this morning. Jampacked news day. Coming up congressman and House Judiciary Committee member doug collins. Hes the Ranking Member on explosive new documents revealing hidden agenda within the fbi, something we expected, we are going get into it. Stay with us. Cleaning spray. For more information, visit cdc. Gov covid19. This message brought to you by the National Association of broadcasters and this station. Maria welcome back, abuse of power at the top of the fbi, unsealed documents reveal top Bureau Officials debated whether to get former security adviser Michael Flynn to lie, the motivations for interviewing flynn in the white house right after President Trumps inauguration in january 2017. Former head of counterintelligence writes this, what is our goal, truth, admission or get him to lie so we can prosecute him or get him fired, these are handwritten note that is were exculpatory evidence. Joining us georgia congressman doug collins to talk more about from the obviously good to see you, congressman, good to see you. Good to see you. Maria we talked about this for a long time, congressman, and i want to read you the public filing from Sidney Powell who is general flynns lawyer, number 1 the fbi preplanned delivered attack on general flynn willfully chose to ignore section 1001 in the interview despite full knowledge of that pact. They planned a perjury trap at best and in doing so put it in writing saying what is our goal as i just said. Your reaction to what we have learned just yesterday with this public filing from flynns attorney . We talked about this many times but those when we kept bringing this up, problem with comey and all the other going together, we kept seeing it, released the transcripts and kept talking about interview. Now its coming true. When people thought we were on a rant, talking about something that was not true, we are now showing that it was true. They did have an agenda against the president , this candidate, what it means is when they went in there they went in there with motives, they were trying to deceive general flynn and inform him or continue to say, make sure, you cant lie, trying to basically trying to trap him to something else. Sidney powell has done outstanding job of getting information now and also showing that thankfully previous attorney who is now we are seeing did not turn evidence to her. This just goes back to something thats basic, maria, thats that our federal government was used by certain individuals to go after people that they did not like. This just shows for a fact that strzok, somebody cable, comey had an agenda that was outside of the bounds of their job and outside of the bounds of the law because they had dislike for donald trump and they were going to do anything to get people maria yeah. They made up their mind about this. Maria congressman, i know that you and i have spoken about this for a long time. Ive been saying that that this and that section they ignored telling 101, rather, that he should bring lawyers. If a couple of fbi agents say they want to interview you, you want to have your lawyer there. Jim comey layed it all out for us as if it was okay. Watch the interview back in 2018 that he gave during his book tour. You look at the white house now and its hard to imagine 2 fbi agents. How does that happened . I sent them. [laughter] something i probably wouldnt have done or got anway with in a more organized investigation, more organized administration, in in the george w. Bush administration or Obama Administration, two men that we have appreciation for over the last 2 years. [applause] [laughter] and in both of those administrations there was process and so if the fbi wanted to send agents into the white house itself to interview a senior official, you would work through the white House Counsel and discussions and approvals and who would be there and i thought its early enough, lets just send a couple of guys over. Maria yeah, lets just send a couple of fbi guys in and laugh about it. Real funny to destroy a mans life, star general which served country for many years and he told us in the interview, congressman, what he wanted to do, tell them that we want to come by, dont have a lawyer there. Jim comey is what is wrong with the whole thing. Jim comey wants to make it like hes superman in the interview. The s on his chest is for shame. He was talking about former president s, he didnt like this president. He didnt call him by name. This is the arrogance, but also remember there was also a memo written by peter strzok to Andrew Mccabe on what he would say to general flynn on the day of the interview. I want to remind viewers, mccabe lie today his own colleagues and fired but never charged for it. They charged general flynn in a setup interview with lying to the fbi but yet mccabe who lied to his own colleagues was never charged. Theres a problem here. I want mr. Durham to continue to see this. This is a real problem. Maria so congressman, when is enough . We know for a fact, its been confirmed by the doj, at least four of the wiretaps on carter page were illegal. We know that general flynn was sets up, illegal. We know that there were informants in the Trump Administration before the official they say it began july of 16th, informants all over the place beginning inauguration happened. When is enough . When is anybody going to see inside of a jail cell here because this is massive abuse of power and now most people in america understand that . Yeah, today is enough. Today is enough. I mean, we have seen it this week. Today is enough. Attorney general who is looking on the flynn issue, attorney barr appointed durham, its time for it to end. Its time for the circus that went after flynn, comey, mccabe, strzok, page, im so tired of them folks thinking they were these warriors for what they thought was political agenda. Maria unbelievable. They need to stop now. Maria you know, on sunday i tweeted out this is the week that general flynn will be completely exonerated. Do you believe what we have here exonerates general flynn . I think youre getting close to the truth and shows that it was a setup from day one. Maria all right, we will leave it there, congressman, good to see you this morning, thank you, sir. Doug collins, fired up 6 00 a. M. In the morning. More mornings with maria when we come back. Stay with us. Im greg, im 68 years old. I do motivational speaking in addition to the substitute teaching. I honestly feel that thats my calling to give back to younger people. I think most adults will start realizing that they dont recall things as quickly as they used to or they dont remember things as vividly as they once did. Ive been taking prevagen for about three years now. People say to me periodically, man, youve got a memory like an elephant. Its really, really helped me tremendously. Prevagen. Healthier brain. Better life. Maria welcome back, the clash of the tech titans, Tesla Ceo Elon musk and Facebook Ceo Mark Zuckerberg taking opposite sides on stay at home orders. Musk telling investors the orders hinders peoples freedom, listen. If somebody wants to stay in the house, thats great. They should be allowed to stay in the house and not compel today leave but to say that they cannot leave their house and theyll be arrested if they do, this is this is fascist. This is not democratic. This is not freedom. Give people back their goddamn freedom. Maria zuckerberg on the other hand saying caution, i worry that opening place too quickly before infection rates have been reduced to minimal levels will guaranty future outbreaks and worse longerterm healthcare and economic outcomes. Dagen mcdowell, reaction to musks comments fascism is the word he used. Dagen look at mayor de blasio talking about rounding up jewish mourners in new york city. Thats what people are upset about and these restrictions and basically just throwing the constitution out of the window, we see this far and wide, a pile of lawsuits over the coronavirus lockdown measures because much of what these local officials and governors have done is draconian and americans understand their freedoms and when they are restricted they get mad, so good for elon musk for saying this. By the way, Mark Zuckerbergs business benefits when people are locked inside of their houses, that hes going to be the kumbaya, everybody come together. Facebook is going to lead the way. Elon musk is, get out on the road in my car. I know everybody has a financial interest, but, again, because people because much of what has happened in this country is draconian and is an overreach and the more the government continues to overreach the worse the economy is going to be. Maria kelly, wait until people start finding out what tracking and tracing is, lets see if they get upset about that, if you have coronavirus, thats tracking and tracing, you hear a lot of conversation in government these days. Kelly you are, maria, i dont think people realized that they want to put they want you to download apps on your phone that will basically track you. I have to say the people that have been doing a lot of the draconian measures, they dont seem to have a lot of empathy of millions of american who is have lost their jobs. I watch andrew cuomo every day and the reporter asked about those people, wow, they can get a new job as essential worker. Its just unbelievable that he thinks he can keep the state shut down and its not going to have a really bad effect on people but, of course, are not the people that theyre hurting. Government officials. Mark zuckerberg who is doing perfectly fine to tell people that they shouldnt be going out and do not reopen the economy at all when they are not the ones that lost their jobs and struggling to feed their families, maria. Maria thats right, in about 2 hours we will get another look of how many people applied for Unemployment Benefits, kell
