And if they would have been any further, it could have been a site we never want to see again, and President Trump<\/a> wanted to make sure theres a policy of deterrence against the Iranian Regime<\/a> to make sure that this is very clear if you attack american soil, henceforth our embassy, there will be consequences to pay. Trish yeah. And, you know, he said something, and im ooh going to share it with you. A lot of people will be very critical of this, but i think hes making a point here. He said on air force one to the media, and i quote, this is the president theyre allowed to kill our people, theyre allowed to torture or and maim our people, theyre allowed to use roadside bombs and blow up our people, and were not allowed to touch their cultural sites . It doesnt work that way. In other words, hes saying, you know, if you want to, if you want to go after us, were going to come back at you. Were going to come back at you hard. And maybe thats a message a country like this, that thinks they can play by an entirely different set of rules, charlie, kind of needs to hear. Thats exactly right. And, look, we tried the policy of appeasement under president obama. If there was one common theme of president obamas second term, it was how can we get as much money to the Iranian Regime<\/a> so they can continue to fund terror and try to grow against americas influence in the world. And if you look whether it be a billion dollars in cash in the middle of the night or the lifting of sanctions, the common theme was the more money you send to iran, the more theyre going to reroute to its terror cells across the middle east. And missouri senator josh hawley says the move is actually an attempt to obstruct the senate trial and will create a constitutional crisis. Here he is, watch. It says the trial will follow the impeachment. Now shes trying to obstruct it. Shes trying to upend the constitution. Trish now, some have suggested that the senate can simply dismiss the case if moses refuses to pelosi refuses to send the articles. Think about that, this way she gets her false version of the socalled facts out there, and she can stand by that, and the truth never comes out because theres never a fair trial in the senate. Trish we have it written out, the house has the ability to impeachment and then it goes to trial in the senate. But if the house is not willing to send the articles of impeachment to the senate, what does that mean . Yeah. Well, it means that nancy pelosi is being incredibly hypocritical and ironic here that the very thing shes projecting onto President Trump<\/a> is what she herself is leading the way doing, which is obstructing the senate, obstructing justice and creating a constitutional crisis. The democratic leadership here have obstructed justice, theyve obstructed the senate, and theyve upended the constitution because, first, they refused a fair process, a constitutional process through the impeachment. Then they voted on articles that didnt even contain a crime. They werent anything related to article ii of the constitution. And now she is refusing to send the articles, which is her obligation, until the senate agrees to simply hold the trial according to her terms . She has no power whatsoever to do that. Lets remember, the constitution provides specific limited power to each of the coordinate branches of the federal government for a purpose. She has no authority here x to try to obstruct justice and try to say that she can control the senate trial is refusing to allow justice to take place trish it is. Obviously [inaudible conversations] this is a takeover of the u. S. Government. I mean, this is the kind of stuff that i studied down in latin america, okay . This is not supposed to happen in the United States<\/a>. Were supposed to have a peaceful transition of power, but you know, jenna, they never wanted a peaceful transition of power. They have been calling for impeachment since day one. They have been looking for something, and the latest, of course, being war crimes. [laughter] yes. And, you know, this is just a ridiculous and, as you say, hostile ache takeover because the democrats are not interested in the rule of law, the u. S. Constitution or the fact that we are all under the law and their positions are under the constitution. They are only interested in their own power, and they will do that and try to get it by whatever means necessary. So even now this weekend to point out, try to create this false narrative that somehow President Trump<\/a> doesnt have the authority for this airstrike . Theyre forgetting that he has the vested power to respond to an imminent threat without congressionallal approval. Approval. Its specifically written in article ii trish trying to curb that. Right. And this resolution will be absolutely constitutionally meaningless. The house cannot overrise and change the u. S. Institution as much as she may want to. Trish where does this go . Does this wind up in the Supreme Court<\/a>s hands . You know, to think that this entire charade, this schiff show, if you would, right . In the house, not pass along the articles of impeachment to the senate, and then meanwhile, you know, effectively accusing him well, she hasnt done this directly, but just wait, jenna, given that everybody else is doing this on the squad, you know, of war crimes or trying to curtail his executive war powers, i mean, its crazy stuff. Right. And i think that the Supreme Court<\/a> should step in, and they should say, okay, what does an Impeachable Offense<\/a> constitute. Lets make sure that everyone understands moving forward this isnt just an inherently political process. And also for Everything Else<\/a> that the left is trying to blame President Trump<\/a> saying hes outside of the margins of the constitution, we know that hes not. I would love to see the Supreme Court<\/a>, of their own authority, take this up and draw the lines as their responsibility trish well, and how about [inaudible] right . Trish he had the executive power and authority to make decisions on who could enter our country at a given time based on who he believed or which countries we and our National Security<\/a> team believed actually knew was there. Trish we were talking over the commercial break, its very different than the world of the past x its exciting that the u. S. Is so Energy Independent<\/a>. Independent enough that saudi arabias now coming to us . [laughter] isnt it remarkable . I can assure you the guy who sat in this chair ten years ago did not feel the same way that i feel today. This is a much different place for america to be in, ive got to tell you. It is just very, very exciting to be in the world of energy today. The deal that you spoke of earlier between aramco which is going to result in an investment of billions of dollars down in texas and louisiana are going to create thousands of jobs in that area. I just want to give you a little context of how big this deal is. You alluded to it in your opening. You said theyre going to buy roughly five million tons per an mum of natural gas. An numb. That would heat about four million homes every year. Thats larger than some states, trish. Trish so thats great. And one of the realities of all this in terms of us having become Energy Independent<\/a> is its not just significant from an economic perspective. It means jobs and thats wonderful, its industry here, but also from a National Security<\/a> standpoint its important. And when you look at the world right now, i know that were getting a lot of u. S. Workers, sir, out of iraq. Hows that going right now . Because, you know, and to my point earlier and the point that youve made, you dont really need iraq. But nonetheless, weve had a lot of operations there, and weve had to get workers out. Sure. Those are American Workers<\/a> that are producing or servicing many of these fields around the world. You know, the United States<\/a> leads in the oil and Gas Production<\/a> for a reason. We are the very best at the production of this. Its not just that, you know, we have a lot of it here, but we have technologies availabletous that we are sharing with the rest of the world. And as those American Companies<\/a> and as those American Workers<\/a> travel the world and find themselves in places like iraq, we have an obligation to protect them and protect those investments. So those are our interests there. And, you know, as the president has pointed out, we will take those steps that are necessary to protect those americans. Trish let me ask you about cybersecurity because i know your Department Works<\/a> on securing our Energy Assets<\/a> here. What are the concerns about iran retaliating through some kind of cyber attack . How prepared are we for that, and how sophisticated is iran on all that . We are very prepared for this. These are not new threats to our energy grid, our electricity grid in certain cases or other Energy Structure<\/a> infrastructure. These are threats that have been here for some time. Its a threat we recognized very early in the trump administration. The president directed thensecretary perry to look at this issue and devise a game man to address these particular threats. Secretary perry did exactly that. We created a new office at the department of energy that is specifically focused on this threat. The u. S. Department of energy has the responsibility for the energy sector, cybersecurity threats within the energy sector. And we coordinate closely with our colleagues over the department at the homeland security. Trish yeah, no, i hope so. The military, military personnel recently came out and said that there was some minor cyber attack on the u. S. That was orchestrated by iran, but it was entirely minor, and it didnt really have any ramifications sure. Trish these, i imagine, are things you need to be thinking about critically in terms of our own Energy Assets<\/a>. We do, we do. But these are somewhat you know, what were seeing so far are somewhat what we might refer to as routine cyber activity. Its something that we see on a very regular basis. The u. S. Industry in particular is very well prepared. Trish all right, good. We need to be. And in terms of oig oil prices, not to get too businessy, but can the u. S. Economy, can we withstand any kind of turmoil that happens as a result of cutoff of supply in iraq . Yes, i think we can, and i think youre seeing it in oil pricing today. A few months ago the iranians attacked an oil field in saudi arabia, and we saw prices take a very quick jump upward, very small jump, as a matter of fact, and it came right back down in a short range. And we see exactly the same thing here. Actually, a little bit less of a shock trish no, thats true. We are, as you said, sir, in a very different world. Very different world. Trish mr. And, again, calling war crimes, this president actually should be congratulated because hes exposing the left for who they truly are. He got them no to defend iran, of all places.
