hundreds at least of americans. suleimani has been killed, and bloody rampage is now forever gone. the commander in chief, obviously, taking decisive and bold action to end thuggish reign of suleimani as leader suleimani had a lot of american blood on his hands responsible for killing more than 600 of our lltroops in the iraq war. some put the estimates muchst higher than that. suleimani the chief exporter of iran's states sponsored terrorism butir because of president trump, and our unrivaled military, the suleimani legend is ended, he got what he deserved. the president last night directing an air strike in baghdadst to kill suleimani just days after an attack on the u.s. embassy in baghdad by iranian back militiamen who were operating on the orders of suleimani. court president trump, the iranian general was plotting what is termed eminent and sinister of terrorist attacks. but was caught in the act and he was terminated. american lives were in jeopardy and president moved quickly because, because of the president's decisive actions thousands more american lives and other lives will be saved. you know, this man is terrorist was brute. and not only responsible for hundreds of death of americans but thousands of horrible injuries to american it is in others, and he wasn't going start, stop targeting americans. so that's something to think about. the president you know he knew there was eminent danger we had good intel that there was eminent danger and americanss were going to be killed so he took the bold and oftentimes hard action that he had to as president know a east that only president trump seems to be able to affect. i mean, it is outrageous what i've heard today and in the course of the morning earlier from the democratic leadership. it's as if they're completely inhinged. they are. i continue to be so disa pointed by in thes it is not good enough., the can democrats should be happy along with rest of this country that american lives were saved, and instead they're complaining that they weren't notified. you know, time is of the essence when things like this are going down and president has constitutional authority to protect americans when they're also i would say that schumer complaining he was not briefedded and complaining that it wasn't good enough and he still had questions. they just continue to hack -- >> this president i'm sorry, yes. >> i think chuck schumer born complaining i wouldn't expect any quick change in his behavior. it is also about, i think, a good case could be built it would be utterly irrational of the trump administration to -- to brief the very people who were trying to unseat him remove him from power to overthrow his presidency. and to have done everything in their power to do so. i mean i just can't understand why a neutral voice in this -- say in the national media isn't saying what are the democrats talking about? and why would they expect anything other than to be found untrustworthy by the president of the united states? >> well i'm going to say because there's no neutral voice in the media right now. you know "the washington post" talk ad about suleimani as the most revived military leader. again what we're getting into you know he was a terrorist. he was a murderer, and we've i've been watching cable news today like they were hoping for retaliation. you knowew they're like scaring the american public for ratings. i don't understand why again, the mediat and a democrats aret happy along with the rest of this country that our president took the bold action to kill a are warning the iranians not to try to open a war because the wants to end these wars. >> and -- , ofof course the one saying tht there would be severe consequences as a result of the action taken against suleimani. your thoughts on the possibilities of escalation here? >> well look i was on the house intelligence committee i know something about covert actions. they're supposed to be a notification of congress maybe to the gang of eight top eight members of congress before the the things take places but the law says if the president doesn't do this had -- he's supposed to just notify congress in a timely manner with the reason he did not notify them and lou we know why he didn't notify them in advance because he thought information about this would heck. because congress the democrats have politicized national security to such a point that the president cannot trust them with information and that would put lives at risk now i think the presidentt did the rite thing. >> and -- your thoughts on this same issue because -- iugimagine why any president in this situation oppose from every quarter from radical left trying to overthrow his presidency would feel in any way -- that it would be upon him to to tell them about details even the generality of this operation to take out of terrorist leader. >> look, i agree with fred assessment and he's been inside the government he knows about those things. basically if this it was a war because some parts of the critics are. saying they're goig to have a war then, of course, he's going to go to congress and then talk with the leaders. if this was a special operation, and it was -- he can he has a discretion of informing the congressional leader of gang of eight and more but if the situation is very critical, he has the ability of conducting the operation and then, of course,f informing the congressional lead percent at the end of the day the legislative branch will have that information. but it is under his capacity to conduct this very serious and leaks could damage this operation and all about what we heard about leaking over the past two to three years are not going to be encouraging the president to share this information at this point and time. >> does it appear to both of you and start request you does it appear to you that schumer and pelosi and it reactions here and purely political reactions on a national security issue as important as this are really basically trying to preserve the president who proceeded him obama's legacy rather than preserve the safety of the american people. >> i think there's some truth to that but look the reaction to this -- issue just shows in thes continue to refuse to accept the legitimate city of foreign policy appointment everything that comes up to hill and it is really a shame something this serious, this dire when u.s. lives are at risk in middle east that we can't come together to schumer pelosi just come forward and say this is president you did a good job here. s this was the right thing. >> lou i think fred that we have movedded -- we have moved beyond they don't accept the outcome the of the election. they'ree trying to overturn the result of the election. they're try to do so -- in the most -- venal, with vicious, ways that they can conjure. there is a corruption within this party that democratic party that is, that would have been unthink aboutable just three years ago. because we didn't know intengt to overthrow this president. >> i agree with you in addition to deep domestic politics that are now sad and there are impact our national security, and our foreign policy and this was an example. there's this, you know, a cinema i don't understand why many critics are hanging to that iran deal. i mean the iranian people the iraqi people, everybody in the neighborhood are against it, and then the president take action when national security wants him to take action. s this should be a moment of celebration, and commendation of the president his national security team our military -- all of our forces and allies. it is, it is that for mosts. for the democratic peat it will have a much, much to explain to at that a -- that a terrorist who is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of our troops in iraq -- who t is responsible for global terrorism who is killed thousands of people is responsible for their deaths. he has to actually explain that to the left wing national media and the democratic party. i mean, that's, that's just -- to me stupefying. >> lou this is what we've come to expect from democrats and from the left. but we've also come to expect this type of leadership from president trump. what happened yesterday in taking out suleimani means that today americans woke up and we're safer today than what we were yesterday. this is what we've grown accustom to with president trump's leadership and why he's going to go down in history as one of the best presidents we've ever hadtr flexing american muse where appropriate. and having a realist approach to foreign policy that is why i appreciate the reasoned and the restraint that this president has shown toward iran. but yesterday it was a victory and shouldn't be politicized i feel sorry for my democrat colleagues and friend who look so petty in their reaction to this good news for our country for american national security. they look petty in how they're dealing with impeachment and not allowing that to take on the next step in the senate. but that's as i've said where we've grown accustom to with democrat in a country who's president has acted. he with an attack on a special enemy of this country, this is straightforward. a person who has done this country and hundreds of americans indeed thousands of americans great, great damage and killed hundreds. if not even more. it just -- it's a -- you know i hate to use the word surreal because it is so often overused. it has cliche, but it is i'll go back to my word. stupefying. but that's a good word for it lou.fo what most americans already know is this had president's record on national security is the best record of my lifetime. he just inspite of being impeached, the day before the impeachment vote in the house he pepassed a -- defense bill that is the largest defense bill in american history. he's passed three of them in a road to rebuild american military to adopt reagan peace throughtr strength, to prevent s from getting involved in needless endless wears around the the globe that's in great contrast to the previous administration that showed weakness whose policy was one with of appeasement toward bad actors like iran. this president's record in supporting our troops supporting ourti veterans -- it is substantial. it has to -- can't go unnoticed. it is why once again i appreciate this president's leadership. and i look forward to another four years of it come l this november. >> yeah. the american people will demand it. this is -- a a president who has already in my opinion he's historic but already one of the greatest presidents and with another four years in which to get more done -- he's already set a standard the of the programs in iraq. and tonight as with wede speak a couple of hour ago some drone attacks were conducted against other leaders that were going to participate in that attack. solet assume that attack took place. and the president had knowledge that it was taken place for a number of days. and americans are killed. what would be the criticism then? i mean, my god, the president acted responsibly he had a duty to actut no american were goingo be threatened i don't get the criticism of -- president acting to prudently to prevent americans fromming being killed. and it was absolutely the right move to be made it should have been done a long time ago lou he was designated as global terrorist in 2005 and sanctioned by u.n. and -- because of the appeasement policy of the obama administration it was handle off iran hands off everything they've done in the region that was so malign aggressive and detrimental to people in syria yemen and other places but this presidentnd changed strategy and said look at -- we're not going to put up this behavior in the region anymore. no weapons, no nuclear weapon no missiles and let's change bhiefer and he chose not to do it with bullets -- he chose had to do with economic sachs and it has been working. >> and he chose to do the right thing and that is taking out an enemy of the unitedd states. and enemy of really every state in the region and suddenly the left wing media has gone -- completely stupid it seems they've g been some sort of seizure of stupid in which they're ignoring the history. ignoring the foreign policy issues that are there. it's just extraordinary to me to see what blinds both the national left wing with media to history as well as to the news and events of the day. >> that should have been bipartisan support for this attack on soleimani given the fact thats we know he he and cohorts were planning to attack more americans, and i can't get over divisiveness that exist it's really sad, sad to see it happen. other thing lou is -- the iranians have been trying to provoke us now for a year and a half. and they've been going up the escalation ladder to do it from disrupt or tanker glowing them up attacking oil shooting down a drone and conducting 11 attackses on bases where americanss are. no american up to the last time was killed. the president never fired back on any of it. he exercised extraordinary restraint and i think it gives them further legitimate for sacs he has taken in bringing down soleimani and these other leaders. because it absolutely had to be done given the intelligence that they had and demonstrating in the past that i'm not going to be provoked into a war with iran. i'm only going to take a measured response and i think that's's what we really have he. >> yeah. ting this country i know this country is -- very fortunate to have president trump in the white house because -- he has as you have pointed it out, has been constrained and measured dispite provocation. and -- and he is at the same time embattled with a democratic party trying to overthrow it. it iss it is the damnedest moment and the democratic party means to overthrow legitimate government that it is just stunning. >> it is. yeah, and other thing that -- needs to be noted here is the iranians are really spooked lou by the civil unrest that they've had in the country they've never had anything like itt in 40 year and incidents in the past but nothing like this small towns. smallik cities, big city same issue. it is against the regime. not against the america against the
