The 10 year treasury is trading near twoyear lows. The prices are a a little lower this morning. Bond markets seem to be telling us there could be a recession ahead. Lets bring in todd horowitz, chief strategist. The bond market is telling us they think there is trouble on the horizon. The spread between the 10 year and the 30 day is inverted. So it is a problem. Of course, the bond market is the biggest market in the world. It is not anywhere no other market is anywhere close to the size. And typically the bond markets going to be right. This isnt a problem that just decided to start because of hong kong or whats going on in china. This has been building for a while because weve seen some of these issues. I mean, once we peaked in the 10 year at 3 , we have done nothing but go down. Were building what i would call a bond bubble. They cant buy enough bond futures and they cant get the Interest Rates low enough and this is the problem. Cheryl its a flight to safety. Just to be clear, a lower bond yield means banks cant turn as many profits. We saw financials leading the selloff yesterday. These are the stocks to watch, i think, in my opinion, besides the energy and some of the trade sensitive guys. A lot of this has been happening on the backdrop of china. When you look at whats going on, theres the flight to safety, theres all kinds of issues out there that markets markets didnt decide one day well start to go down.
