I mean, nancy pelosi is just embarrassing herself with these extremist scare tactics. The tax reform bill is going to be fantastic for the economy charles. I mean its going to just its going to be a huge catalyst to economic boom. Its going to be a tax break for millions and millions of working families, and so she just is trying to scare people away its all political. Charles well i know its all political but i guess it never gets old and except for at least to nancy pelosi it doesnt but you wonder this sort of hyperbolic reaction to all of these things and why people outside of washington d. C. Just sort of ignores career politicians . Well i think in this case they shouldnt ignore it of course because adriana is correct, theyre wrong and the benefits of this are felt immediately and i can just see the commercials now with her histeria. The only thing she didnt claim was going to happen was cats would start sleeping with dogs. That already happens at my house , but so look, i mean this is great. I love it when they do this. I love that theyre just in hinged because it reminds the American People about why were doing what were doing right now charles i do think the irony maybe nancy pelosi read it . [laughter] i mean, i bet she didnt even read it right . Why shouldnt we just wait for it to be like obamacare . Exactly. I mean this coming from the woman who said you need to pass the bill in order to see whats in it. This is when i look at this and say charles the democrats hbo in power for eight years. They had no tax plan, they had no real idea how to grow the economy. Now with President Trump, what do we see . We seen 3 gdp almost every darn quarter, why . Charles we have two in a row sitting on top of a 3 gdp right now with three quarters gdp growth. Thats after the hurricane. Why because the president has done what he said he was going to do. Trying to rollback regulations allow Small Businesses to create jobs. Republicans understand how to stimulate the economy. Democrats know how to stimulate the government. Charles here is the thing adriana. You do have Old School Republicans like john mccain who would like the democrats to be part of it, he wants regular order but when their whole platform is obstructionism out the gate, its hard to even say why waste our time any more . Yeah, absolutely and since when are democrats concerned with adding to the debt . You know, right now theyre trying to scare under obama, he added 9 trillion to the debt approximately and nobody cried anybody a river. Democrats looked the other way but now theyre trying to scare us saying the tax reform bill will add 1. 4 trillion to the debt but they also dont want to talk about the fact that were going to be growing the economy at least by a trillion dollars and its going to be a big economic catalyst to growth and hiring, so its interesting how when their party adds to the debt they have no problem with that but when the tax bill is temporarily going to add to the debt, which will be offset of course, they have a problem with it. Charles so were in the cusp of first major legislative win from President Trump. Hes done an amazing job with respect to getting rid of regulations. That is greased the wheels of economic commerce. Those wheels are moving this probably speeds that up. How critical is it that this momentum is maintained all the way through 2018 to those elections because again the democrats have already staked their claim that something is going to go wrong. There will be a hiccup and blame it on this tax bill. Yeah, this is going to be very successful already just by President Trump existing weve had what a 30 increase in the market. Its been extraordinary but the president has also learned this year what to expect. This has been a learning curve for him as every day goes by, he gets better. As those efforts that have failed to keep to stop him like legal efforts on virtually everything from the travel order on up, were going to see more success in how hes been right and how hes assessed his job so i think hes only going to get better. Hes already being able to assess who around him has been the better helper who we can rely on and of course weve got our job in the midterms to make sure he has more support. Charles ron . The bill isnt done yet though and there are still major stick ing points between a house and Senate Version and even among republicans, theres a sort of tug of war over whose really going to bat for the middle class whose really going to bat for Small Businesses and while no one believes it will derail this, its going to get pretty heated. This is my big fear for working on capitol hill for nine years. Its not over until its actually signed by the president in the oval office and republicans have a remarkable ability to really blow it and were talking about tax rates here. Why do we have seven brackets in the senate bill . The house bill is a lot simpler a lot easier. I hope when they go to conference they recognize that American People if they understand very clearly whats at stake and they understand very deliberately why republican s delivered they will say we want these folks back in 2018 but if they dont and if we get caught up were in trouble. Charles adriana a lot of concessions have already been made, you suspect maybe more in a final moment to this and that has a lot of people guessing that the Corporate Tax rate goes to 22 not 20 lets not forget President Trump started at 15 . Is 22 should that still be considered a win for the white house and the American Economy if thats what it comes to . Oh, definitely because look how much improvement it is to where we are now. Theatreing at 39 so just bring it down to 22 would be fantastic i think President Trump is willing to negotiate on that point but Mitch Mcconnell has said hes not. He wants a firm 20 but theres other members of congress who are willing to push it off, putting it off until 2019. Others say no we need to lower the Corporate Tax rate immediately and so thats definitely going to be a negotiating area of negotiation that needs to take place. If i could just say quickly for everyone worried about things in this bill its one bite at the apple. Weve got seven years dont forget the work has only begun. We can do this peace meal in a way this next bill will be imperfect but a good start. Charles little presuming, ha oh, absolutely telling right now. With can have seven bites at the apple. Charles if the economy goes this way you may have more than seven. Newlysparked wildfires are ranging out of control right now in Southern California. In fact over 50,000acres Ventura County are engulfed and strong winds are hindering firefighter efforts. Our very own Hillary Vaughn is on the ground with the latest. Hillary . Hillary charles now we are at 50,000acres for this one fire, the thomas fire but there are two other fires also burning throughout Southern California right now, at least 150 structures have been burned to the ground but weve seen several just throughout the day go to the ground as well so we expect in a few minutes to get an update on how many structures total have been taken today but i want to point out behind me specifically if you saw Something Like this on a block youd see firefighters battling it with water but i just spoke to a fire captain who tells me the playbook has been thrown completely out the window because they are trying to conserve water a lot of fire engines are running out of water a lot of hydrants have been completely tapped out and he also said the way they are identifying what houses are burning because this entire area is under mandatory evacuation is from a group text message thread he said that sounds archaic but in this situation that is the most effective way for them to patrol these neighborhoods and figure out what houses are on fire. Now the reason why there is not a giant wall of fire in every house on this block isnt burning down is because it is sporadic and it is moving quickly because the santa ana winds, you can see just the smoke alone, some embers floating off into the air, is actually bringing the embers to travel at least half a mile and starting fires throughout the neighborhood, so its not a wall of fire. Its several fires randomly popping up throughout these neighborhoods engulfing entire houses and flames and burning them to the ground. Today, we felt gusts up to 60 Miles Per Hour from the santa ana winds and it was hard to stand at some point, so the wind has been picking up but then it slows down and changes directions which means the firefighters are having a very hard time predicting where is the fire going to move, where is it going to go next. Also because the fires are so the flames im sorry, the santa ana winds are so strong it is causing dangerous conditions for the aircrews to fight the fire from above so a lot of the single aircraft have been grounded. I want to throw to a sound bite from the Ventura County chief explaining why they arent able to approach this from the air like they would in a normal situation. Wereoing to use the aerial assault basically on the flanks the fire where we can actually stop it as it starts coming into the cities but generally the aerial assault is not very effective at the head of the fire because the fire can spot so far in advance of the fire, a quarter mile, a half a mile in advance of where the fire front is, so a retardant line doesnt provide much to stop embers that are traveling much much further than the width of the retardant line. Charles this fire is twice the size of manhattan at 0 containment right now and predicting where its going next is very hard and probably the biggest challenge on the ground. Charles . We have steve win at the helm and other races ive been looking at across the country and theres not any problem with fund raising. Its going to be a problem i think for steve bannon and his fund raising and first of all, im so mad about this. First of all we wouldnt be in this situation if we didnt have a challenger for luther strange. We didnt need someone messing around in alabama politics or there really wasnt a problem and second of all why didnt governor ivy get involved in this and shut this thing down . Im very irritated over this race, charles. Its not going to affect fund raising Going Forward for any other candidate. I think it is going to affect steve bannon and his movement and his fund raising Going Forward because steve bannon has become almost like a nuisance now instead of a help in primaries with this going on. Charles but tammy, if moore wins, hes raised a lot more money than anyone thought he could raise. Sure. Charles if moore wins that would be something of a vindication for steve bannon and others whose saying let the alabama citizens decide whose right on this. Sure i dont think of course anybody expected it to go in this direction but i think what its mostly a statement about and this is where washington should take this very seriously, is how americans not just the south but pretty much everywhere dont believe anything that comes out of washington, that theyre sick of everything and that this is what theyre stating effectively is that we dont care what you say, we dont care what your position is this is now what were doing. I also think though that when it comes to the people voting and making their choice, i think people can make a good choice between three candidates and people are going to make their mind up and thats what the people of alabama did and theyre going to do it again but when it comes to fundraising the rnc is having of course record years attached to President Trump and i think that this also though shows for the rnc their schizophrenia. They cant even take a stand and stay there and this is, you know , they dont really know what to do. Charles well lets talk about that a little bit because earlier today President Trump was visited by some senators and it was interesting because he was flanked by two senators who lets just say hes had some run ins with. Lets just take a quick look. President trump the taxes were so thrilled about, so popular and something is coming out of conference pretty quickly as opposed to long term. I think its going to go pretty quickly. Were all on the same page as a great spirit of the Republican Party like a lot of people have never seen before theyve never seen anything like this the unity. Charles same page unity and then the guy next to him writes a check for the democrat in alabama. What do you think about that noe lle . Its a statement. It was a small amount and he did it for a statement and he took a picture of the check so jeff flake was basically saying in your face. Im going to support integrity versus the candidates that you have before us, and really, this candidate is unfair. I mean, you know, whether he did it or not we dont know the allegations but hes going to be entering in the u. S. Senate with this cloud of smog with him. I mean maybe not in the same kind of smog but what do you make of it though President Trump promoting unity and then of course the check after. We are all looking outside in have a different opinion so ive never been a big fan of roy moore but alabama is going to decide. I think its rather pathetic thats what flake did.
