Photo by WVU MORGANTOWN â The U.S. Department of State have recognized four West Virginia University women for their commitment to language learning and personal growth. Valerie Browne, of Martinsburg, Jana El-Khatib, of Hurricane, Christina Murray, of Fairmont, and Margaret Rhymer, of Garland, Texas, were awarded the Critical Language Scholarship, which will allow each student to participate in fully-funded virtual intensive language and cultural immersion programs this summer.
