Everett Police and Fire Departments team up to assist mother giving birth – Everett Independent


On Monday July 19, at approximately 12:45 p.m. Everett Police Officer Jeffrey McCabe while working a construction detail on the corner of Chelsea Street and Partridge Terrace in Everett witnessed a vehicle pulled to the side of the road. Upon approaching the vehicle Officer McCabe witnessed a what was clearly a female in medical distress.
Officer McCabe immediately notified Everett Fire Department and Cataldo EMS for assistance in which he now realized was an active childbirth situation. Due to an apparent language barrier, Officer McCabe swiftly contacted Officer Nancy Guzman of the Everett Police Department who was able to quickly interpret and relay pertinent information to EMS and fire personnel until EPD Officer Nuno Almedia was able to arrive on scene and assist with translation.
