combined authorities with a directly elected mayor as of November 2018
Cornwall Council as an example of rural devolution
London (the Greater London Authority, the London Assembly and the London Mayor’s Office) as an example of a mature devolved city region
To gain an understanding of how the Mayors and Mayoral Combined Authorities (
MCAs) have impacted their local area, 2 small surveys were conducted to establish public and business perceptions of leadership roles in the devolved institution.

The research was conducted by Warwick Economics and Development on behalf of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
