Egypt launches e-ticketing system for touristic cities’ museums BY Egypt launches e-ticketing system for touristic cities’ museums - Min. of Tourism & Antiquities CAIRO – 31 January 2021: The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities began to activate the electronic ticketing system for Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada museums, in addition to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir.
This will be done through advanced reservation kiosks by activating the e-payment service through credit cards, electronic wallets and contactless cards.
Also, this comes in line with the ministry’s implementation and activation of the digital transformation project for museums and archaeological sites nationwide.
Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for the Development of Archaeological Sites and Museums Iman Zidan, explained that Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada museums and the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir are the first to activate the digital transformation project for museums and archaeological sites, which the ministry started in cooperation with “E Finance” group.
