On his way to another round of coffee. He jokes by protesters smiling and waving, thanking them for their blind loyalty. And they say they wont believe the results until they hear trump himself concede. And with me in this studio is william glue craw from the u. S. Election team. William, good to see you. All right, so we heard from some of these people who were at this pro, trump rally, but who exactly are they which people are showing up to show support for trump . Well, supporters and organizers were calling this year the 1000000 maggie march, which of course is a risk on the 1990 s. Civil rights march mostly for men, the 1000000 man march. So we should definitely not overlook that, that connection there. You know, these are donald trumps, most diehard supporters. These are people who are flying in from all over the country, as you can imagine, just how fervent of believer you have to be in donald trump. And his baseless claims that he won to come in, you know, drop what youre doing and come into the washington fly from far away. And these are not, the only protests were happening. We saw much smaller events happening in arizona in florida. Some of these hotly contested states, of course, won florida. Hes lost arizona. And these are just people who will nothing is going to convince them because donald trump is their guy. And you know, we see a smattering of some far right groups, but also just people are organized or politically identifying, you know, to anybody or anything other than donald trump. So its a very wide range of people on the conservative end of the spectrum who feel like this election was stolen from and nothing is going to convince them otherwise. All right, well you mention that there were other protests elsewhere in the country. The one in washington d. C. Was the largest, but william just how much of a threat are all of these demonstrations, all of these unhappy people . Im, how much do they threaten the transition to a new Biden Administration . It was the largest in washington, but of course was nowhere near that 1000000 person that they were claiming, you know, authorities and police were saying as a maximum, maybe 10000 it is a minority of a minority. You know, these are not all of donald Trump Supporters actually draw from a fairly broad spectrum, which we saw from the election just how many votes he won, and how much support he does still have in the country. So, while they are a minority and they should not be given too much credit in too much attention, we just have to look back to recent history, you know, in 2009, when barack obama came into office, there was this upsurge of resistance to his, his administration that became the tea party, which itself was not an actual party. It really kind of meshed into the Republican Party and really push the Republican Party much further, right. Much more conservative and much more, much less willing to negotiate and to find Common Ground with democrats. So while we dont see any kind of organization yet with these smattering of people we saw in the streets of washington, they could definitely going into a by the Administration Form something to really, you know, counter joe bidens agenda when there are still several weeks before he does take office the senate to call indeed, always good to talk to you.
