Wilmoth STATE ROAD — Two arrests were made by the Surry County Sheriff’s Office on March 24 as part of ongoing investigation in the State Road area. During a surveillance operation, detectives noticed a narcotics transaction. A traffic stop was conducted on Highway 21 and detectives reported that trafficking amounts of methamphetamine and assorted drug paraphernalia were located. Detectives arrested Melissa Ann Wilmoth, age 39, of Thurmond, and Christopher William Scott, age 36, of Wilkesboro, on drug charges. Wilmoth was charged with six counts of trafficking methamphetamine and one count of felony maintaining a drug vehicle. She received a $200,000 secured bond and has a court appearance scheduled for April 28.
