DOH eyeing to finish UHC operational policies within the year

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 12) — The Department of Health said on Saturday it is targeting within the year the completion of the operational guidelines that will guide local governments’ implementation of the universal health care law.
These policies aim to “contribute towards the attainment of the goal of UHC,” DOH Director Frances Mamaril said in a briefing.
Mamaril said they have been working on 59 policies, which are categorized into local health systems, service delivery, financing, regulation, and governance.
She said that 25 guidelines have been approved, 15 policies are awaiting approval, while 19 others are still being developed.
