Different venue, same excitement: Jolly weekend set to kick off Friday Updated May 11, 2021; JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. -- After a COVID-19 hiatus in 2020, the Jolly McCarty Memorial Weekend will return, with the gala set for Friday night and the sold out golf tournament ready to go all day Saturday. Although the Bacot-McCarty Foundation, which puts on the Jolly each year, managed to have a record-setting year in terms of fundraising in 2020, executive director Todd Trenchard said he and the foundation members are excited about bringing people back together. “Events are where you get people to come together and raise the excitement for the rest of the year,” Trenchard said. “Last year was different. We did raise more money than we ever have, but we’re excited about this year and reconnecting with those relationships and keeping people connected throughout the year.”
