Did you feel it? 3.9 earthquake near Joliette rumbles as far as Montreal Montreal Gazette A 3.9-magnitude earthquake rattled the Montreal-area early Monday morning. The event was recorded by Earthquakes Canada at 7:03 a.m. and its epicentre traced to the Joliette area. The tremblor, also felt on the South Shore of Montreal, lasted several seconds and seemed comparable to the vibration of a the passing of a heavy truck. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries nor, according to the federal agency, should any be expected.
